StableLock Saves a Failing Foundation Without Lifting the Home
Over time, stone foundations begin to break down, allowing for gaps to form that allow in water, creating a breeding ground of high humidity and mold growth. Gaps in a foundation can also lead to shifting, which creates an unstable foundation that could potentially ruin the health of a home and lead to damage if not properly fixed. Typically, a failing foundation would have to be replaced by lifting a home and pouring a new foundation. This would involve the homeowner moving out of their home for a period of time and having to make extensive changes to plumbing and electrical during the lift. StableLock by TC Hafford Basement Systems saves the current foundation and prevents the homeowner from having to go through the trouble of lifting their home.       This Shapleigh, ME, homeowner had a failing foundation that was allowing water in and creating an unhealthy home environment. This has been their home for over 40 years, and it was important to them to fix the situation promptly. The homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems and System Design Specialist Michael Penna met with the homeowner for a free estimate. Michael Penna and the homeowner worked together to design a system that would save the existing foundation and protect the homeowner from having to move out of their home for repairs. The StabeLock system features a new foundation wall that is poured and secured to the existing failing wall. This not only saves the homeowner from extensive home renovation but can be finished in as little as two days without disrupting the home, all while saving the homeowner money. The homeowner is able to rest easy now knowing that their home is protected and their foundation won’t cause them anymore issues.
Shapleigh Homeowners Want Sump Pump
Shapleigh, ME homeowners contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems to get a quote on installing a sump pump to help with their water issues. System Design Specialist Rick R. met with the owners to give a free estimate. We installed a TripleSafe sump pump, which has two Zoeller pumps so there is a back up in case one fails, or both can work together in heavy water. The TripleSafe also comes with a battery back up so it will still operate even if there is power loss. The TripleSafe removes water from the basement through an exterior buried discharge line. The discharge line is protected with IceGuard to prevent freezing in the winter. WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the basement to ensure any water is channeled directly to the TripleSafe.
A SUPER Sump for This Seabrook Home

System Design Specialist Rick Russell drove out to meet with the homeowner for a free estimate and worked with them to design a system that would meet their needs and protect the health of their home.   Replacing the old sump pump was a must for the customer to make sure water would be pumped out of the basement before it had a chance to form any puddles. A SuperSump was installed in place of the old sump and connected to a Buried Exterior Discharge line that takes the water far from the home where it won’t cause any problems. IceGuard was installed on the Discharge line to prevent ice from building up during the cold winter months, ensuring that the system will run smoothly year-round. Now this Seabrook, NH home is protected, and the homeowner can use their basement to its fullest potential.
Wet Basement in Berwick, ME, Revitalized With New System
In Berwick, Maine, Andrea had an existing sump pump and dehumidifier, but still experienced a wet basement whenever it rained. After searching online for a solution, Andrea came to us. Once our representative Mike Morin took a look, a team was sent out to get to work. TC Hafford started by installing a WaterGuard basement waterproofing system around the perimeter of the basement. This system is used to collect any water that might attempt to flow into the basement through the walls or up through the floor. This WaterGuard system was then connected through to a newly installed SuperSump sump pump, which replaced the old sump. This new sump pump pumps any water fed into it to the outside. Finally, the crew used an IceGuard pipe outside the house to prevent the water from being blocked. The IceGuard is a special piece of pipe that allows water to flow even when the rest of the pipe is blocked off by ice or other debris. After finishing these additions to the basement, Andrea now no longer has to worry about water in the slightest.

Hiram, ME Home Fitted With WaterGuard Before Going On The Market
A homeowner in Hiram was looking to put their home up for sale. But with the amount of water that would regularly gather within the basement during heavy rains, they would have a hard time finding a buyer. Taking to the internet to find a solution to their water problem, the homeowner soon discovered TC Hafford Basement Systems. They contacted us right away and we began work on the basement. We started by excavating the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This gave us a trench where we could lay our WaterGuard piping system. These pipes will capture any and all water as it tries to enter the basement through the walls or floor. The WaterGuard is then covered with loose rocks and cement to hide it beneath the floor without preventing it from functioning. The water captured by the WaterGuard is then guided to the sump, where we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will push all the gathered water up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. On the exterior of the home, this discharge line has a special IceGuard piece attached. The IceGuard is designed to allow water to exit the pipe should the lower end become blocked by ice or other debris. These three products working together will maintain a dry basement in this home for many years to come; Allowing the homeowner to sell the home without any issues involving a leaking basement.
Hampton, NH homeowner calls TC Hafford Basement Systems to solve his sagging floor and encapsulate the crawlspace!
This Hampton, NH home was purchased two years ago by the current homeowner and they had a few issues that needed to be addressed in the crawlspace so TC Hafford Basement Systems got the call. System Design Specialist Peter Folsom met with the homeowner and put together a plan on how to lift the sagging floor and protect the crawlspace from moisture.   CleanSpace is a proprietary crawl space encapsulation system developed by Basement Systems to address moisture, water intrusion, and mold problems in residential and commercial crawl spaces. The CleanSpace system typically involves the following components and steps: Moisture Barrier: CleanSpace utilizes a heavy-duty, durable, and puncture-resistant plastic liner that acts as a moisture barrier. This liner is designed to prevent moisture from the ground, walls, and air from entering the crawl space. Drainage Matting: A dimpled drainage matting is often installed beneath the CleanSpace liner to create an airspace and allow any water or moisture to drain away. Vapor Barrier: The CleanSpace liner acts as a vapor barrier, preventing the transmission of water vapor and moisture from the ground into the crawl space. Sealing and Insulation: The CleanSpace system involves sealing vents, gaps, and cracks to prevent outside air and moisture infiltration. Insulation options may also be provided to enhance energy efficiency. Dehumidification: A dehumidifier is recommended to control humidity levels in the crawl space, reducing the risk of mold growth and musty odors. The CleanSpace system aims to transform a damp and musty crawl space into a clean, dry, and healthier environment by effectively managing moisture and preventing water-related issues. It can help improve indoor air quality, protect structural integrity, and create a more comfortable living space above the crawl space. Crawlspace In Cornish, ME Kept Dry Using CleanSpace Liner
Molly in Cornish was experiencing trouble with her crawlspace. It would collect puddles of water whenever it would rain. This needed to be addressed as soon as possible. Soon after seeing an ad on television, Molly gave TC Hafford a call. We had a crew out in no time to get to work! The interior perimeter of the crawlspace was covered with a Drainage Matting to prevent the water from making its way toward the center of the crawlspace. We then lined the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This is a clean sheet of plastic that encapsulates the entire crawlspace, save for the ceiling. This will lock out any and all water trying to enter the crawlspace. Though moisture still might be able to sneak into the crawlspace through other means. This is why we installed a SaniDry CX Dehumidifier. This dehumidifier will maintain a dry atmosphere within the crawlspace. Preventing any mold growth or structural damage to the house.
WaterGuard Piping Saves Cornish, ME Basement from Flooding
This homeowner had been living with a problem for some time. Their basement would ragularly take on water during rainfall. Even with a concrete foundation, the water would still find a way into the basement. Unsure how to prevent the leakages alone, the homeowner soon called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems after they saw one of our ads on TV. We dispatched a sales representative to give the homeowner a free estimate in their Cornish, ME home. When they gave us the go-ahead to get started, our installation crew began work on this basement floor by excavating a trench into the perimeter of the concrete floor. Within this trench, WaterGuard piping was used to surround the basement floor. These pipes were then buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete to coneal them inside the floor. Small slits along the bottom of the WaterGuard will take in the leaking moisture in the future and prevent it from reaching the surface of the floor. The water follows the piping to the sump where it will be removed from the basement without causing any problems for the homeowner. Now that their basement has a waterproofing system in place, this homeowner will no longer need to put up with a flooding basement. The WaterGuard pipes will keep this basement floor dry for the forseeable future!
