TripleSafe Sump Pump Is Just What This Ogunquit, ME Basement Needed
A homeowner in Ogunquit was experiencing trouble with their basement. Whenever it would rain, water would gather in one of the corners of their basement. They needed a sump pump to remove this water, and after being referred by a family friend, knew TC Hafford Basement Systems could provide exactly that. They called us to set up a meeting, and our representative was at the home in no time to inspect the basement and give the homeowner their free estimate. They selected which pump they wanted and we got to work! We began by digging out a sump in the basement floor. This would allow us to install the pump where most of the water gathered. We then installed a TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe is composed of three pumps, one primary for the bulk of the water, a secondary in case the primary fails for any reason, and finally, a battery powered backup pump in case the power goes out. With this sump pump in place, a flooding basement is a thing of the past for this homeowner!
WaterGuard Seals Basement In Wells, ME
A homeowner in Wells would regularly gain moisture within their basement during heavy rains. This water seemed to enter through the walls and floor, as there was no other obvious entrance as far as the homeowner could tell. Needing a way to keep their basement dry, the homeowner searched for a solution. He soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems. He gave us a call and we dispatched a representative to take a look at the basement. We gave the homeowner a free estimate of cost and they selected what they wanted done. We sent in our crew and got to work! We began by digging up the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This allowed us room to lay our WaterGuard piping system around the basement. Once in place, we covered it over with loose rocks and cement. This concealed it, without hindering functionality. The WaterGuard pipes will capture water as it tries to enter the basement through what is known as hydrostatic pressure. This is when there is enough water in the surrounding soil to force water in through even the cement foundation. Once captured by the WaterGuard, the water is guided out of the basement through a drain. Next, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. This will maintain a dry atmosphere within the basement by cycle through the damp air, removing any moisture. With these two systems in place, this homeowner will have a dry, healthy basement for years to come!

Full Gutter System Installation in Wells, ME
When a homeowner in Wells, Maine, reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems, they were facing challenges with water management around their property. Without a robust gutter system, rainwater was washing away soil near the foundation and threatening the home's structural integrity. After discussing their concerns, the team conducted a thorough assessment, evaluating the property’s drainage needs to determine the best solution.     Upon inspection, we recommended a complete Gutter Shutter and Raindrop Gutter Guard system along with a landscape outlet. Meanwhile, the Raindrop system adds a layer of protection by filtering smaller particles, ensuring a clog-free experience and enhancing the system's efficiency. Gutter Shutter Installation in Wells, Maine
A homeowner in Wells, Maine, reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for a gutter estimate, concerned about how to best protect their home from water damage. After visiting the property, our team thoroughly assessed the situation and determined that the most effective solution would be to install the full Gutter Shutter system. This setup included not only the Gutter Shutter itself but also a 3x4-inch downspout and a valley controller. The Gutter Shutter system is specifically designed to prevent clogging, ensuring water flows smoothly through the gutters even during heavy rainfall. The oversized 3x4-inch downspout further enhances the system’s efficiency by allowing a higher volume of water to be directed away from the home more quickly. This is especially important for homes in areas like Wells, where sudden downpours can cause traditional gutter systems to overflow, leading to potential basement leaks or foundation damage.   The valley controller plays a key role in managing the extra water that tends to accumulate in roof valleys. By controlling and directing this water flow, it ensures that the gutters are not overwhelmed, reducing the risk of water backing up and causing damage to the roof or exterior walls. Once the installation was completed, the homeowner was very satisfied with the final results. They appreciated the professionalism of the crew and the peace of mind that comes with knowing their home is now better protected from water damage. The new system requires minimal maintenance, leaving the homeowner confident in the long-term performance of their gutter system.
Why Attic Insulation Is So Important!
Too little attic insulation and too much air leakage can waste a great deal of energy, leading to an uncomfortable home and higher energy bills. TruSoft Cellulose insulation reduces heating and cooling bills by as much as 32 percent (based on a study by The Leominster Housing Authority), meets and exceeds fire-resistance testing, and is a “green” product as the material contains 85 percent recycled paper that would otherwise end up in a landfill.   This Wells, ME, homeowner was ready to insulate their attic and save money on their energy bill, so they scheduled a free estimate with Dr. Energy Saver by TC Hafford Basment Systems. System Design Specialist Nima Farshid worked with the homeowner to design an energy-efficient system that would make their home healthier and more comfortable. First, their attic was sealed with ZypFoam where necessary and haft-inch Foamax. After the area was finished being sealed, TruSoft Cellulose insulation was blown into the space to insulate the attic and create a home that would be warmer in the winter and keep the AC in during the hot summer months.
Wet Basement In Limerick, ME, Properly Waterproofed With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Limerick was having water enter their basement through the floor and walls. This was immediately an issue for the homeowner, because they were using their basement for storage. This problem needed to be resolved, and they called TC Hafford to get the job done! As soon as our crew got to the home, they started work on the basement. First, the perimeter of the basement floor needed to be dug up. This was to make way for our WaterGuard piping system. This system will catch any water entering through the walls or floor before it reaches out towards the center of the basement. Once the WaterGuard system was in place, we installed the SuperSump sump pump. This pump will take the collected water from the piping system and force it up through PVC to the outside. Lastly, we attached an UltraSump backup battery, to ensure the pump continues to pump water even if the home loses electricity. Now this homeowner has a perfectly dry basement to use however they please.
Brownfield, ME Sump Receives SuperSump Upgrade
A couple in Brownfield owned a basement with a functional sump and drainage system. But during exceptionally heavy rains, the water would overflow from the sump, pooling up on the basement floor. Requiring more water removal power, the homeowners got online and found TC Hafford Basement Systems. To give the homeowners the water removal they needed, we installed a SuperSump sump pump into the sump they already had. This pump is able to pump 2,650 gallons of water per hour, and should be more than enough to handle any amount of water leaking into this basement. On the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard to the water discharge line coming from the sump. This will allow water to continue to exit the pipe, even in the event that the lower end of the pipe becomes blocked. Finally, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier within the basement to remove any moisture from the atmosphere. This will eliminate not only any foul smells, but also any mold beginning to grow around the basement. With these upgrades to their sump and basement, water is no longer a concern for this couple!
Crawlspace In Cornish, ME Kept Dry Using CleanSpace Liner
Molly in Cornish was experiencing trouble with her crawlspace. It would collect puddles of water whenever it would rain. This needed to be addressed as soon as possible. Soon after seeing an ad on television, Molly gave TC Hafford a call. We had a crew out in no time to get to work! The interior perimeter of the crawlspace was covered with a Drainage Matting to prevent the water from making its way toward the center of the crawlspace. We then lined the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This is a clean sheet of plastic that encapsulates the entire crawlspace, save for the ceiling. This will lock out any and all water trying to enter the crawlspace. Though moisture still might be able to sneak into the crawlspace through other means. This is why we installed a SaniDry CX Dehumidifier. This dehumidifier will maintain a dry atmosphere within the crawlspace. Preventing any mold growth or structural damage to the house.
WaterGuard Piping Saves Cornish, ME Basement from Flooding
This homeowner had been living with a problem for some time. Their basement would ragularly take on water during rainfall. Even with a concrete foundation, the water would still find a way into the basement. Unsure how to prevent the leakages alone, the homeowner soon called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems after they saw one of our ads on TV. We dispatched a sales representative to give the homeowner a free estimate in their Cornish, ME home. When they gave us the go-ahead to get started, our installation crew began work on this basement floor by excavating a trench into the perimeter of the concrete floor. Within this trench, WaterGuard piping was used to surround the basement floor. These pipes were then buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete to coneal them inside the floor. Small slits along the bottom of the WaterGuard will take in the leaking moisture in the future and prevent it from reaching the surface of the floor. The water follows the piping to the sump where it will be removed from the basement without causing any problems for the homeowner. Now that their basement has a waterproofing system in place, this homeowner will no longer need to put up with a flooding basement. The WaterGuard pipes will keep this basement floor dry for the forseeable future!
