Over the top of this, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the interior of the crawlspace. With the CleanSpace completely locking out moisture, any water build up can easily drain back into the ground through the Drainage Matting. Finally, a SaniDry CX dehumidifier was installed in the crawlspace to eliminate any airborne moisture from the space. This will prevent any mold growth from forming in the future and soon eliminate any musty smell. Now this homeowner can breathe easily knowing their crawlspace is no longer susceptible to mold growth or other moisture problems. The new vapor barrier will keep out any and all outside moisture.

To accomplish this goal, we used PolyLevel. PolyLevel is a foam spray that will fill an area entirely, then solidify and maintain that form. We injected the PolyLevel, which filled the void, realigned the slab with its original position, and helped support the garage slab from further shifting. Now the void is filled and the homeowner can be confident this problem won’t happen again!

A homeowner in Brewer was beginning to notice water pooling up on their basement floor. This water was entering through a crack in the basement wall, which had formed over some time. This problem needed to be addressed, and the homeowner wasn’t equipped to do it themselves. They then sought professional help. They called TC Hafford Basement Systems, knowing we could get the job done right. We had a representative head to the home to give a free estimate, then we had our crew begin work. We began by filling the crack with a sealant. This wouldn’t be enough to completely hold back all the moisture trying to enter, but it was the first of three layers. This sealant is then covered over by a foam matting. The foam is flexible, and once completed, allows the structure to be bend as well. Finally, another layer of sealant is applied over the foam, locking out moisture entirely. This structure is called Flexispan, and it gets its name from its flexibility. It is able to not only seal off the basement from water trying to enter through the crack, but it can flex to stay on top of the crack should the basement walls shift at all. This seal will keep water from pooling up on this homeowner’s floors in the future. Maintaining a dry, healthy atmosphere within the basement.

The homeowner needed something done about this, and was looking for a solution. After speaking with a previous customer of ours, they were turned on to TC Hafford Basement Systems. Soon after hearing about us, they gave us a call and got their free estimate. We dispatched our crew and got to work! To begin the sealing of the crack, we cleaned out the crack with a wire brush to remove any loose dirt or debris from the crack. Next, we placed small tubes along the crack every foot or so. We then plastered sealant over the top of the crack to create a cavity inside the crack, that the tubes could reach. Finally, to fill in the crack and seal out water, we injected Polyurethane in through the tubes we left in the crack. This will spread and fill the entire crack, solidifying and sealing out moisture permanently. Now this crack flooding the basement is no longer something this homeowner needs to worry about.

A crack had formed in one of the corners, and water was easily leaking in during rain. This acts as the first line of defense against rain water trying to enter. Over the top of this sealant, we secure a foam matting. This matting is the second barrier keeping water out. Finally, another layer of sealant is added over the top of the foam. This completes the FlexiSpan. FlexiSpan gets its name from being able to bend and change shape to maintain alignment with the crack should any part of the wall shift. We then installed a SaniDry XP Dehumidifier to dry out the moist air built up in the basement. Now even if moisture should enter through other openings, the SaniDry XP will keep the atmosphere in the basement moisture free.

We had to remove the old pump, in order to make room for the new one. The homeowner chose a SuperSump sump pump, which will take any gathered water and force it up and out of the basement. We then installed an UltraSump back-up battery. This battery will ensure water is still being pumped out of the house even if the power were to go out. This will guarantee a dry basement no matter the conditions!

The SuperSump can move over 2,600 gallons of water every hour up and out of the home through the PVC discharge line. Next, an UltraSump backup battery was atached to the SuperSump to enable it to continue operation even if the home loses power. Finally, outside the home, an IceGuard pipe segment was attached to the discharge line. This piece has angled holes built-in to allow for water blocked by ice or debris to exit the line before backing up and flooding the basement. With their new waterproofing system in place, this homeowner should never need to worry about their basement flooding again!

To do so, we drilled holes into the walls evenly spaced along the walls, inlaying poles through each hole. On the exterior of the home, we dug vertical holes into the soil, aligned perpendicular with the holes dug through the walls. Here, we inserted flat plates that were screwed to the end of the inserted poles. We then filled the holes in with the dirt taken out. Finally, we secured plates to the interior ends of the poles, tightening them against the walls. With these Geo-Lock Anchors in place, this homeowner no longer needs to fear a cave in.

This system was then covered over with loose rocks and cement to conceal it under the floor without hurting functionality.
