BrightWall was the right choice for the Newport, ME, Church of God
In Newport, ME, the Newport Church of God was having some water trouble in their basement. The walls needed to be painted, but with water seeping in through the surrounding soil, the paint just wouldn’t stick to the wall. After seeing TC Hafford Basement Systems at a home show, the Church gave us the opportunity to solve their problem. Once our representative David Zawistowski had a look at the walls, he knew what needed to be done and the team got called in. BrightWall panels were used to cover all the affected walls. These panels keep moisture behind them, and have a nice bright-white color to them. The panels will never deteriorate, and are cut to fit perfectly around any obstacles along the wall, such as pipes or windows. A great choice for both giving the walls a pleasant look, as well as keeping moisture from the surface of the wall.
Newport, ME Basement Protected From Water Damage With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Newport was in need of basement waterproofing. Their basement would regularly flood during heavy rains, which was beginning to leave visible damage around the basement. They needed a way to stop this flooding, and they searched online for a solution. Soon they came across TC Hafford Basement Systems and knew we were the right company for the job! They gave us a call and we had a representative inspect the basement to see what we could do. We gave them a free estimate on the repair costs and then we got to work. We started by digging up the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This gave us room to lay down our WaterGuard pipe system. The WaterGuard is then covered over with loose rocks and cement to conceal it under the floor without hindering functionality. It will capture water as it enters the basement through the walls or floor from the surrounding earth. The water is then guided to the sump, where we installed a SuperSump sump pump. The pump will take the water and push it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Outside the basement, we attached an IceGuard to the discharge line so that the water coming from the SuperSump will continue to flow even if the line becomes blocked by ice or other debris. Finally, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier to dry out the air in the basement. Now the homeowner has a basement that never floods, and dry, healthy air circulating through it!
1870's Crawlspace Revived in Thorndike, ME
A Thorndike, ME homeowner reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with their damp 1870's farmhouse crawlspace. System Design Specialist Craig Z. met with them to give a free estimate. We installed a SuperSump Plus system, which pumps the water through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that takes it far from the home. The Discharge line is protected against ice buildup during the winter months with the installation of IceGuard. To take care of any humidity in the crawlspace, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was set up with an additional line attached to the SuperSump so the homeowner doesn't have to empty buckets of water. Their 150 year old space is now dry and has new life!
Moist Crawlspace in Warren, ME, Encapsulated
A homeowner in Warren had a crawlspace with a sand floor. This was a problem for the homeowner, because water was easily entering the crawlspace, and causing mold to grow. The homeowner took to the internet to find a solution. TC Hafford soon received a call. We took a look at the crawlspace, and got to work! We started by placing down a drainage matting on the floor. This acts as a primary barrier from water, and will allow any water entering the crawlspace to flow back out through the floor. Then the entire crawlspace got encapsulated by our team, using CleanSpace Liner. This liner fits tight against the walls and floor of the crawlspace. It seals out any water trying to sneak into the crawlspace. Now this homeowner no longer needs to worry about water or mold in their crawlspace.

FlexiSpan Seal Protects Plymouth, ME Basement from Leaking Water
This homeowner that lived in Plymouth, ME had been living with cracks on their basement walls for years. These cracks recently began letting water flow into the basement, causing the homeowner to worry about water damage to their property. As soon as they saw our ad on their TV, they called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems right away to ask what we could do about their wet basement. The homeowner soon received their free estimate from our sales representative, and they hired us to get the job done as soon as our crew was available! When our crew arrived at the home, they got started on FlexiSpan seals to repair these cracks by brushing each crack clear of debris with a coarse brush. This would allow the sealant to better adhere to the surface. An initial layer of sealant was then laid within and slightly around each crack. Next, A foam matting was placed over this initial layer. The foam was then covered by a second layer of sealant, completing the FlexiSpan installations. The foam core within each seal acts to hold the shape of the crack, so that if the crack were to shift in the future, the seal will stay in position. Now this homeowner can relax during rainfall, knowing their basement will no longer take on water through the cracks in the walls. The FlexiSpan seals will keep this basement water-free for years to come!
Wet Basement in Dover Foxcroft, ME, Pumped Dry
A homeowner in Dover Foxcroft was experiencing trouble with water coming in through his walls. This water would collect and cause moisture to build up in the basement. This moisture created great living conditions for mold. After receiving a piece of mail advertising TC Hafford, the homeowner gave us a call. We looked over the basement, and discussed potential fixes with the homeowner. Once the homeowner decided what they wanted done, we got working. The first thing we dig was dig out a hole to become a sump. The sump was then fitted with a SuperSump sump pump. This pump takes all the water collecting in the basement and forces it up and out of the basement through PVC pipe. On the outside of the house, we attached an IceGuard pipe to the PVC to allow for water to flow even if the rest of the pipe becomes blocked. This will ensure our sump pump doesn’t back up. This homeowner now has a dry basement.

Leaky Addition In Searsmont, ME Sealed With FlexiSpan
A homeowner in Searsmont had an addition put onto their home. This addition caused leak in the basement of the home, by creating a crack along where the old met the new. This leak was a problem for the homeowner, so they came to TC Hafford Basement Systems to solve their problem. We had a representative take a look, then we got to work! To fix this crack in the joining of the two sides of the house, we used FlexiSpan. Starting this process, we filled the crack with a sealant. This is the first step of FlexiSpan, and acts as a primary barrier against water coming in through the crack. We then laid a foam pad over the top of the crack. This helps the structure of FlexiSpan, allowing it to be flexible, should the crack shift at all. Finally, the foam is covered with a second layer of sealant. This seals the entire piece in place, locking out moisture permanently.
Searsmont, ME Basement Dried & Waterproofed with WaterGuard Piping
A homeowner that lived in Searsmont, ME had been having some problems with moisture leaking into their basement. Unsure how to prevent these leakages on their own, the homeowner needed assistance. After a quick search online, they found TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us to see if we could help. We set them up with a free estimate of what options they had and then got started on the waterproofing once they chose what work they wanted done. When our installation crew arrived at the home, to prevent water from reaching the surface of the concrete floor in the future, a shallow trench was dug into the perimeter. Here, WaterGuard piping was laid, surrounding the basement floor. These pipes, buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, will capture any moisture leaking towards the basement inerior and guided it through the floor directly to the SuperSump sump pump we installed next. The SuperSump takes the collected water and forces it out of the home through a PVC discharge line. On the exterior of the home, two additions were made to the discharge line before our crew was finished. The first was an IceGuard pipe section attached to line just beyond where it exits the home. The IceGuard has special holes built-in which allow for trapped water to escape. This protects the basement from a backup if ice or other debris forms a blockage in the discharge line. Finally, a LawnScape pipe segment was used to cap the end of the line. This piece has a grate covering the end, allowing the water from the sump to flow out without interference. Now that their basement has received a proper waterproofing, this homeowner will no longer suffer from a flooding basement during heavy rainfall. The WaterGuard piping will keep water from gathering on this basement floor for years to come!
