Saint Albans, ME Crawlspace Properly Protected with CleanSpace Barrier
Living with a musty smell in parts of their home, this Saint Albans, ME homeowner was looking a solution to their problem. They took to the internet and soon discovered our TC Hafford Basement Systems website. After they looked over our site, they called us to set up their free estimate right away! Our office staff scheduled a time for the homeowner to meet with our sales representative and review their options. After their meeting, the homeowner hired us right away to dry the wet crawlspace at the root of the problem. As soon as our installation crew arrived, they began work on the crawlspace by removing some existing dirt below the home and regrading the floor to better allow water to flow away from the space. A Drainage Matting was then laid across the crawlspace floor, completing the first half of the vapor barrier installation. The Drainage Matting has holes placed in a grid throughout itself and rests slightly above the surface of the floor. This will enable water blocked by the vapor barrier to flow out of the crawlspace without pooling up and creating new problems. Finally, a CleanSpace barrier was used to encapsulate the interior of the crawlspace. This liner covers the surfaces of the walls and covers the Drainage Matting to seal moisture out of the interior of the crawlspace. With a new vapor barrier below their home, this homeowner’s moisture problem will no longer persist. The CleanSpace liner will keep out any future leakages for years down the road!
Humid Basement In Washington, ME, Dried Out Properly With SaniDry
A homeowner with a finished basement in Washington was noticing a musty smell starting to appear. This wouldn’t do, so Valerie searched online for a way to remedy this. After finding TC Hafford Basement Systems, Valerie knew she had found her solution. She contacted us and we got to work! After taking a look at the basement, the fix was clear, she needed a SaniDry XP. This is a dehumidifier which will suck in the moist air, take out the moisture, and push the dry air out into the basement. This creates a cycle of dry air pushing moist air closer to the SaniDry, allowing for more and more air to be dehumidified. Now Valerie no longer struggles with a musty basement.
WaterGuard Installation Protects Washington, ME Basement from Flooding
When this homeowner moved into a home that had a concrete foundation, basement flood was not something they expected. After trying to deal with the problem for some time, they decided it was best to have it waterproofed professionally and searched online for a solution. That is where they found us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and they called us to set up their free estimate. They agreed to what we could do to help waterproof their basement and our crew got to work! When the installation crew arrived at the home, their first task was to install WaterGuard piping. To get this done, a shallow trench was excavated into the perimeter of the concrete floor. Here, the WaterGuard was laid, surrounding the basement. To conceal the piping within the floor without hindering function, the WaterGuard was buried underneath some lose rocks before being covered with a fresh layer of concrete. Small slits along the bottom of the WaterGuard pipes capture any leaking moisture inside the floor and prevent it from reaching the surface of the floor in the future. The water caught by the WaterGuard is guided through the floor to the sump where we installed a TripleSafe pump system. The TripleSafe contains three individual pumps that force water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The first and second pumps inside the TripleSafe handle the removal of the majority of the captured water, with the secondary pump only activating when the primary requires extra power. The third pump is a battery backup pump that will stay inactive until the home loses power. Then this pump will take on the water removal until power returns. With their new waterproofing complete, a flooding basement is no longer something this homeowner needs to worry about! The WaterGuard & TripleSafe installation will keep this basement dry for years to come.
TripleSafe Installation Protects Washington, ME Basement from Flooding
This homeowner living in Washington, ME had a problem below their home. The sump in their basement where water was supposed to escape through had recently started to back up and overflow during rainfall, causing flooding in their basement. Worried about the potential for damage to the property, the homeowner searched online for a solution right away. When they found our TC Hafford Basement Systems website, they gave us a call to see about setting up their own free estimate. After their meeting with our sales representative, the homeowner decided they would like us to take care of their flooding basement for them and hired us right away! When our installation crew arrived at the property, their first task was to install a TripleSafe sump system within the old, failing sump. The TripleSafe houses three pumps inside itself that act to force collected water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. A WaterGuard piping system which was buried beneath the perimeter of the concrete basemen floor will capture leaking moisture in the future and guide it to the TripleSafe for removal. Two of the three pumps within the TripleSafe will do the majority of the water-removal, while the third pump, which is battery-operated, will remain inactive until the home loses power. This way, the water is removed from the home in any weather, without even reaching the surface of the floor. Now that this homeowner has a functional water-removal system again, they can make better use of their basement without worrying about moisture damage. The TripleSafe pump working alongside a WaterGuard piping system will ensure this basement floor stays dry for years down the road!
Palymra, ME Basement Wall Sealed With FlexiSpan
A homeowner in Palmyra was having water problem in their basement. This problem was being caused by a crack that had formed in one of the walls. This crack was an easy access point for water from the surrounding soil. The homeowner needed a way to fix this, and turned to the Yellow Pages for help; finding TC Hafford Basement Systems. We had a representative take a look, and he decided that FelxiSpan was the best option for this basement. FlexiSpan is a three layer system that starts with filling the crack with a sealant. This is the first line of defense against water trying to enter the basement. This layer is then covered with a foam matting, to act as the secondary barrier protecting against water. Finally the matting is covered in a layer of sealant to lock out any water trying to sneak in. This structure allows for the FlexiSpan to contort to the crack should it shift at all. This homeowner now no longer has a water problem in their basement.
Uneven Garage Floor In Dexter, ME Realigned With PolyLevel
A homeowner in Dexter had been having a problem with their cement garage floor. It had been slowly sinking into the ground, becoming uneven with the surrounding foundation and driveway. The homeowner needed a way to realign these slabs, but couldn’t do it on their own, so they searched online for help. After coming across TC Hafford Basement Systems, this homeowner knew we were the right company for the job and called us right away. After setting up a meeting, we had our representative head to the home to investigate and give the homeowner their free estimate. They selected how they wanted it fixed and our crew got to work! We needed to bring the garage floor slab back up to its original location. To do this, we needed to put something below the concrete slab. Luckily, we have just the thing for this. To begin, we drilled holes around the slab strategically to get an even spread. Then, through these holes, we pumped in PolyLevel. This is a foam that fills the space between the slab and the ground, lifting it back up to its original placement. Once the slab reached this point, we removed the tubes and allowed the PolyLevel to solidify. This will hold the slab in place, not allowing it to sink back down. Thanks to PolyLevel, this homeowner now has a perfectly level garage floor once again!
Damp Basement in Waldoboro, ME, Waterproofed The Right Way
A homeowner in Waldoboro had a basement which would regularly get wet whenever it rained. Even though this homeowner had a sump pump to remove the water from his basement, he had to way to guarantee the water would reach the sump. This allowed for the water to build up and dampen roughly a quarter of his basement. The homeowner thought this was no good, so once he saw an ad for TC Hafford Basement Systems on the TV, he gave us a call. After the homeowner decided what he wanted done to help fix his problem, our crew got to work. The first thing we did was dig out the perimeter of the homeowner’s basement. This would allow for the placement of a WaterGuard system, to reroute any water trying to enter the basement through the walls, or up from the ground. This rerouting would lead the water to the newly installed SuperSump sump pump. This pump takes the water and pushes it up and out of the basement, keeping the floors and air of the basement dry. The water is then passed through an IceGuard filter once outside the house. This filter acts as a normal pipe when everything is functioning normally. But once the pipe gets blocked, be it by ice or other debris, the IceGuard will allow water to exit the pipe and prevent the whole system from backing up. This homeowner now has a 100% dry basement.
Waterproofing Solutions for a Historic Home in Waldoboro, ME
A homeowner in Waldoboro, Maine, reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems regarding their 200-year-old property. The house, rich in history, had a cellar with an earthen floor and concrete block walls that had been spray foam insulated. While the insulation provided some protection, the homeowners noticed water seeping into the cellar, raising concerns about moisture and potential damage to the foundation.   Our team at TC Hafford Basement Systems visited the property for a thorough evaluation. Given the age of the home and the condition of the cellar, we recommended a comprehensive solution to manage the water infiltration and improve air quality in the space. Our crew installed the CleanSpace liner and drainage matting to cover the floor, providing a moisture barrier that would channel any incoming water to the drainage system. The liner was carefully attached using spray foam for added insulation and to ensure a seamless fit along the walls. To address the humidity and keep the air dry, we installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. This powerful system works by removing moisture from the air, preventing mold growth and keeping the cellar dry and healthy. By combining these elements, the homeowners now have a fully protected cellar that can withstand moisture and humidity, preserving their historic home for years to come.     The homeowners were highly satisfied with the results, knowing their home's foundation is now safeguarded against water intrusion and humidity issues.
Flooding Unity, ME Basement Given TripleSafe Sump Pump Upgrade
A couple in Unity had been dealing with water building up in their basement for years. Having been using a portable pump to remove the water, the homeowners needed a permanent solution. They took to the internet and found TC Hafford Basement Systems. They got in touch and we got started on the basement! We dug out a hole in the basement floor to become the sump within the basement. Within his new sump, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. This device contains three separate pumps. The primary pump handles the bulk of the water, operating the majority of the time. The secondary pump takes over for the primary pump should it fail for any reason and continue to evacuate the water within the basement. The third pump is a battery backup pump. This pump will remain inactive until the power goes out in the home, and then this pump will handle any water that needs to be pumped out of the basement. On the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard piece of pipe to the discharge line through which the water exits. This specially designed pipe will allow the water coming from the pump to continue to leave the home even if the lower end of the pipe becomes blocked by ice or other debris. With this new upgrade, these homeowners can now live care free with a dry basement!
Crawlspace In Liberty, ME Waterproofed With A Drainage Mat
A homeowner in Liberty had a crawlspace with a dirt floor. Moisture was entering through this floor easily, and the homeowner wanted to stop this from happening. They soon got into contact with TC Hafford Basement Systems to get their problem solved. We had a representative take a look at the crawlspace; then we got to work! To solve the issue with water easily entering through the dirt floor, we poured a concrete slab to form a new floor for the crawlspace. This won’t guarantee a perfectly dry crawlspace, but it is much better than dirt. On top of this concrete slab, we laid down a Drainage Matting. This will stop moisture that enters through the floor or wall from making its way to the center of the crawlspace. Giving it time to drain back out. Now this homeowner no longer has a dirt floor or a wet crawlspace!
