Sump Pump In Lincolnville, ME Basement Upgraded With SuperSump
A homeowner in Lincolnville had a sump pump, but it would regularly back up whenever it rained exceptionally hard. Needing a sump pump that performed as intended, the homeowner searched for a solution. They soon got in touch with us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, and we were able to inspect the basement to give them a free estimate. They would need a new sump pump, and their crawlspace was in need of a proper vapor barrier. The homeowner chose what work they wanted done and we got started! We began by removing the old sump pump from the basement. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump, which would be able to handle all the water that would gather in the basement. Pumping it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Next, in the crawlspace, we lined the wall/floor joint with a Drainage Matting. This mat will hold back water as it enters, giving it time to drain back into the floor. Finally, to ensure moisture doesn’t still make it into the air of the crawlspace, we encapsulated the space with a CleanSpace Liner. This is a thin sheet of plastic that completely locks out all water trying to enter the crawlspace atmosphere through the walls or floor. Now this homeowner has a functional sump pump and a proper vapor barrier. No more flooding, thanks to CleanSpace and SuperSump!
Maine Family Home with Long Term Problems
This Northport, ME, family home has been dealing with water coming in through a broken slab during rainy days, and the homeowner was ready to take back control of their home. A wet basement leads to mold growth and musty smells, and the home is susceptible to damage and wood rot. The homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate. System Design Specialist Alan Noyes worked with the homeowner, and together they designed a waterproofing that would protect the home and the health of their family. The slab was beyond repair and needed to be replaced, so the homeowner chose to install a new Slab with WaterGuard. The area was prepped and regraded to create a level surface for the new slab. Drainage Matting was then laid down to create an inorganic barrier for the new slab to rest on, protecting it. The area needed to be waterproofed, so WaterGuard Perimeter Drain was installed to collect and channel water to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe features two Zoeller sumps and a battery-powered backup sump that protect the homeowner during rain events and power outages. The TripleSafe takes the water and pumps it through an Exterior Buried Discharge line. The floor above had a bounce and a slight sag to it, so SmartJacks were installed to stabilize the floor. SmartJacks have the ability to be adjusted after installation, so the homeowner is able to keep their floor stable as the home settles in the future. The basement was fully prepped, and the new slab was poured, leaving the homeowner with a smooth floor. To finish the waterproofing system, a SaniDry Sedona was installed to keep the humidity level in the basement at a safe level, preventing mold growth. The homeowner is now happy that their family home is protected, healthier than it has been in years, and is able to be passed down through generations.
Unique Maine Basement with Water Troubles
The owner of this Northport, ME, home had a unique situation in their basement where moisture was coming in from a section of ledge and up through their basement floor. The homeowner wanted to use their basement for storage without the concern of water ruining their belongings. Ready to keep their basement dry all of the time, they reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate. System Design Specialist Kathryn Dolan worked with the homeowner to design a waterproofing system that would fix their basement and help the homeowner reach their goals. Prepping The Area Before The Slab The area needed to be prepped and waterproofed before the new slab could be poured. The area had to be clean and regraded so Drainage Matting could be laid down. Drainage Matting acts as an inorganic barrier that will protect the slab and channel groundwater to the sump with it’s dimpled design. Drainage Matting was installed on the ledge area as well to protect the CleanSpace that was installed. CleanSpace is a durable vapor barrier that keeps moisture out of the basement and helps to brighten the area with it’s white finish. WaterGuard was installed around the space to capture groundwater and channel it to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe includes two Zoeller sumps and a battery-powered backup pump to protect the homeowner during a power outage. The TripleSafe is connected to an Exterior Discharge line that takes the water far from the home and where it will no longer cause issues. The last step before pouring the slab was installing SprayFoam around the rim joists and on the walls to insulate the area. The New Slab Now that the area was prepped, the slab was poured and smoothed. A SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed to maintain a safe humidity level in the basement. The SaniDry drains directly to the TripleSafe, so the homeowner never needs to empty a bucket. Now that the homeowner's basement is fully waterproofed, the homeowner can use the space for storage without the risk of moisture causing mold or musty smells, and water can’t cause any trouble for the homeowner.
Dirt Basement In Cambridge Gets Waterproofed With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Cambridge was having trouble with their dirt basement. Water would easily leak in through the soil and flood the space during heavy rains, the space was practically unusable. Needing a way to waterproof their basement, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems after hearing about us from a contractor who had worked on the home. We inspected the basement, and gave the owner a free estimate as to what could be done. They gave us the go ahead and we got started! We began by leveling the floor to make way for concrete to be laid. We then laid down a new slab on the dirt to give the basement a concrete floor. This slab had a WaterGuard pipe system built into it, and would capture water as it tried to leak through, and guide it to the sump. The sump was also built into the new cement, within which we installed a SmartDrain pump. The water brought to this SmartDrain will be pumped up and out of the basement, keeping it off of the basement floor. With this new waterproofed basement floor, this homeowner can now use their basement for any number of things!
Basement In Brooks, ME, Kept Dry With WaterGuard
John from Brooks was in need of a way to keep his basement dry. Water seemed to be coming in from nowhere and this was a problem. One internet search later and John had found TC Hafford Basement Systems. He soon made a phone call to get a free estimate on what could be done to help fix his wet basement problem. After deciding on which solution he wanted, we had out crew get to work on the basement. We dug up the interior perimeter of the basement. This made way for the WaterGuard piping system. This will collect the water coming in from the walls or floor and direct it to the sump. In the sump, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. This pump utilizes three separate pumps. One primary pump, one secondary pump in case there is too much water for the first to handle, and finally a battery powered backup pump for when the power goes out. This pushes the water up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Now this homeowner has a dry basement thanks to WaterGuard!

FlexiSpan Seal Protects Plymouth, ME Basement from Leaking Water
This homeowner that lived in Plymouth, ME had been living with cracks on their basement walls for years. These cracks recently began letting water flow into the basement, causing the homeowner to worry about water damage to their property. As soon as they saw our ad on their TV, they called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems right away to ask what we could do about their wet basement. The homeowner soon received their free estimate from our sales representative, and they hired us to get the job done as soon as our crew was available! When our crew arrived at the home, they got started on FlexiSpan seals to repair these cracks by brushing each crack clear of debris with a coarse brush. This would allow the sealant to better adhere to the surface. An initial layer of sealant was then laid within and slightly around each crack. Next, A foam matting was placed over this initial layer. The foam was then covered by a second layer of sealant, completing the FlexiSpan installations. The foam core within each seal acts to hold the shape of the crack, so that if the crack were to shift in the future, the seal will stay in position. Now this homeowner can relax during rainfall, knowing their basement will no longer take on water through the cracks in the walls. The FlexiSpan seals will keep this basement water-free for years to come!
Wet Crawlspace In Belfast, ME Sealed With CleanSpace
A homeowner in Belfast noticed a smell coming from their crawlspace. This smell was being created by mold growing on the walls. This was due to a high moisture content in the air of the crawlspace. Looking for professional help, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems. We had a representative sent to the home to inspect the basement and give the homeowner their free estimate. They decided on what work they wanted done and we got started. To eliminate the moisture entering the basement, we encapsulated the interior with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner is made of a solid plastic, able to hold back any water trying to find its way to the interior of the crawlspace. We then installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier in the crawlspace. This dehumidifier will take in the moisture from the air, dry it out, and push it out into the further reaches of the crawlspace. This forces more moist air back toward the dehumidifier, creating a cycle of drying air. With these two systems working together, the moisture from the crawlspace has been completely eliminated, along with the proper atmosphere for mold growth. This homeowner should no longer experience a smell coming from their crawlspace.
Belfast, ME Home Getting the Clog Free Gutters It Deserves
Clogged gutters lead to overflowing water, damage to the roof of a home, and create situations where homeowners could get hurt on a ladder, especially during the winter months when ice can build up. Gutter Shutter’s unique design prevents clogging and allows the homeowner to enjoy the benefits of gutters without the headache they can leave them with. This Belfast, ME, homeowner was looking to replace their old clogged gutter with something new, so they called Gutter Shutter by TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate. System Design Specialist Josh Hamel met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a Gutter Shutter system that would protect their home from rainwater.       Gutter Shutter features a larger, six-inch aluminum build that is formed and cut on site to allow for a seamless design that can fit any size needed, whether the home requires a 2-foot section or a 90-foot section of gutter. With the integration of the shutter on top, pine needles, leaves, and even small critters such as squirrels are kept out of the gutter, preventing clogs. Since water is able to flow unobstructed even during heavy storms, ice buildup during the winter months isn’t a problem, and snow melting on the roof won’t turn into icicles that could potentially be dangerous to the homeowner. Gutters are necessary to prevent soil erosion and water runoff that could lead to larger, more expensive problems, such as water in a homeowners basement that could lead to damage and the loss of belongings. Gutter Shutter allows the homeowner to keep their home healthy and themselves safe from the dangers of climbing ladders to clear a clog.
Uneven Garage Floor In Dexter, ME Realigned With PolyLevel
A homeowner in Dexter had been having a problem with their cement garage floor. It had been slowly sinking into the ground, becoming uneven with the surrounding foundation and driveway. The homeowner needed a way to realign these slabs, but couldn’t do it on their own, so they searched online for help. After coming across TC Hafford Basement Systems, this homeowner knew we were the right company for the job and called us right away. After setting up a meeting, we had our representative head to the home to investigate and give the homeowner their free estimate. They selected how they wanted it fixed and our crew got to work! We needed to bring the garage floor slab back up to its original location. To do this, we needed to put something below the concrete slab. Luckily, we have just the thing for this. To begin, we drilled holes around the slab strategically to get an even spread. Then, through these holes, we pumped in PolyLevel. This is a foam that fills the space between the slab and the ground, lifting it back up to its original placement. Once the slab reached this point, we removed the tubes and allowed the PolyLevel to solidify. This will hold the slab in place, not allowing it to sink back down. Thanks to PolyLevel, this homeowner now has a perfectly level garage floor once again!
