Searsmont, ME Basement Dried & Waterproofed with WaterGuard Piping
A homeowner that lived in Searsmont, ME had been having some problems with moisture leaking into their basement. Unsure how to prevent these leakages on their own, the homeowner needed assistance. After a quick search online, they found TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us to see if we could help. We set them up with a free estimate of what options they had and then got started on the waterproofing once they chose what work they wanted done. When our installation crew arrived at the home, to prevent water from reaching the surface of the concrete floor in the future, a shallow trench was dug into the perimeter. Here, WaterGuard piping was laid, surrounding the basement floor. These pipes, buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, will capture any moisture leaking towards the basement inerior and guided it through the floor directly to the SuperSump sump pump we installed next. The SuperSump takes the collected water and forces it out of the home through a PVC discharge line. On the exterior of the home, two additions were made to the discharge line before our crew was finished. The first was an IceGuard pipe section attached to line just beyond where it exits the home. The IceGuard has special holes built-in which allow for trapped water to escape. This protects the basement from a backup if ice or other debris forms a blockage in the discharge line. Finally, a LawnScape pipe segment was used to cap the end of the line. This piece has a grate covering the end, allowing the water from the sump to flow out without interference. Now that their basement has received a proper waterproofing, this homeowner will no longer suffer from a flooding basement during heavy rainfall. The WaterGuard piping will keep water from gathering on this basement floor for years to come!
Polyurethane Injection Keeps Unwanted Water from Entering Searsmont, ME Basement
After noticing two cracks that had recently opened on their basement walls, this Searsmont, ME homeowner knew right away they needed to do something about them before the problem got worse. Searching online for a solution, they soon came across our TC Hafford website and called us to set up their own free estimate! After meeting with our sales representative, the homeowner gave us the go ahead to get started as soon as our crew was available. Once the crew arrived at the home, they got started on the cracks by clearing them of debris with a coarse brush. This will allow the sealant to better adhere to the walls surface. An initial layer of sealant was then applied over the top of each crack, with plastic plugs being inserted every few feet. Once dried in place, these plugs were opened. Then starting from the bottom and working their way up, our crew injected Polyurethane through each of the plugs into the cracks, resealing each plug once filled. This will completely seal both of these problem cracks, preventing any moisture from flowing through. With the cracks sealed, that’s two less problems on the mind of this homeowner. The Polyurethane Injections will ensure this basement remains leak-free for years to come!
Crack In Rockwood, ME Basement Wall Repaired
A homeowner in Rockwood was having trouble with a crack forming in their basement. This crack was an easy entrance point for moisture, and could lead to water collecting in the basement or mold growth. Neither of these are things a homeowner wants in their basement; this homeowner being no different, they were soon in contact with TC Hafford Basement Systems after hearing about us from a friend. We had a representative at the home within days to look at the basement wall and give a free estimate. The homeowner chose how they wanted the crack fixed, a Polyurethane Injection, and we got to work! We started the fix by covering over the crack with a paste to hold ports in place. We then inject the Polyurethane into the ports where it fills he crack completely, gripping tightly to the concrete around it. This Polyurethane will then harden and form an impassable barrier to lock out any moisture that would otherwise find its way in. Now the crack in this basement wall is a problem of the past!
Mold Problem in Rockwood, ME Prevented with SaniDry Installation
With moisture gathering in their basement, this Rockwood, ME homeowner was worried about a mold problem developing in the space. Once they heard their options, they knew they wanted to move forward with the solution, so we soon got started! When our installation crew got dispatched to the home, they got to work right away on eliminating this homeowner’s moisture problem. To achieve this, a SaniDry XP dehumidifier was installed on the floor of the basement and connected to the existing sump. The SaniDry will take in the moist air from around the basement, separating the moisture from it and circulating dry air back into the space. Over time, this will eliminate the moisture problem in this basement and remove the threat of mold growth entirely. The water collected from the air is passed to the sump to drain out and away from the home. With a dehumidifier in their basement, this homeowner will no longer suffer from a damp, musty basement. Their SaniDry XP will keep this basement air dry and healthy!
Flooding Basement In Camden, ME Drained With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Camden was had a basement that would regularly gather water during heavy rains. After dealing with this problem for years, the homeowner decided it was time to put an end to it. They got online to find a solution, and quickly found TC Hafford Basement Systems. Knowing we were the right company for the job, the homeowner called us right away to set up a meeting. We had our representative sent to the home to inspect the basement and give the homeowner a free estimate. They chose what work they wanted and we sent in our crew to get started. We began by digging up the inside perimeter of the basement floor to allow us to lay down our WaterGuard pipe system. This system was then covered over with loose rocks and cement to conceal it beneath the floor without hindering functionality. The WaterGuard will capture water as it enters through the walls or floor, guiding it to the sump. There in the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump, to push the water up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Finally, on the exterior of the home we attached an IceGuard filter to the line. This special pipe will allow for continued flow of water even if the end of the pipe becomes blocked by ice or other debris. With these systems working together, this homeowner will no longer need to deal with a wet basement floor. They will now have a dry basement for many years to come!
Keeping This Camden, ME Basement Clean and Dry
This Camden, ME, basement developed a leak that kept the area constantly wet, making it unusable for the homeowner. Wanting to use their basement for storage and laundry without the risk of having their belongings damaged, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems to book a free estimate. System Design Specialist Kathryn Dolan worked with the homeowner to design a waterproofing system that would keep their basement dry all of the time. The homeowner did not want to cut any corners in keeping their basement dry and their home healthy, so they opted for a WaterGuard system. WaterGuard perimeter drain was installed where needed to collect groundwater and channel it to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe system contains two Zoeller pumps and a battery-powered backup pump in the case of a power outage during a storm. The TripleSafe drains through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that takes the water far from the home and is protected against ice buildup with the installation of IceGuard. CleanSpace Wall System was installed to create a vapor barrier and channel any moisture to the WaterGuard. The homeowner wanted to protect the air quality in the home, so they chose to go with the Aspen and SaniDry Sedona Bundle. The SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed in their basement to keep humidity levels at a safe level. The SaniDry Sedona drains into the waterproofing system so the homeowner never has to worry about it not running when it needs to. The Aspen Air Purification system was installed in the living area of the home and covers 1500 sq ft, keeping the air clean and helping to eliminate odors. Basement In Morrill, ME Fully WaterProofed With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Morrill was in need of basement improvement. His basement would flood regularly during heavy rains, and he needed a way to make this stop. Needing a solution to his problem, he took up the Yellow Pages and located TC Hafford Basement Systems. We were just the people he needed. The homeowner soon called us to get a free estimate. When they had decided on the work they wanted done, we started on the basement waterproofing. For starters, the interior of the basement needed to be excavated. This cleared a trench for us to lay down a WaterGuard piping system leading to a sump. The WaterGuard is then covered over with rocks and cement to conceal it underneath the perimeter. This pipe will collect water as it inters the basement through the walls or the floor. Transporting it to the sump to be removed. In the sump, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. This device contains three separate pumps. One primary pump, a backup pump if necessary, and a final battery-powered pump for power outages. To finish off the interior of the basement, we covered the walls in a BrightWall lining. This is a solid plastic that keeps the walls looking clean while directing any moisture down into the WaterGuard piping. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard pipe piece to the discharge line leaving from the sump. This IceGuard will ensure water flow will continue even if the lower end of the line is blocked by ice or debris. This homeowner now owns a dry basement, which will stay that way for many years to come!
Proper Vapor Barrier Installation Protects Morrill, ME Crawlspace
A homeowner living in Morrill, ME had problem below their home. Their crawlspace was regularly taking on moisture from rainfall or melting winter snow and ice. This had created damp, musty conditions in the space that were causing problems for the homeowner. Looking to have the space protected from outside moisture, the homeowner searched for a remedy online and soon found us at TC Hafford Basement Systems. After calling to receive their free estimate, the homeowner was soon met by our sales representative who talked with them about their options. The homeowner hired us right away to get started on the waterproofing solution to their problem. As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started on giving this crawlspace a proper vapor barrier by laying what is known as a Drainage Matting across the floor of the space. This mat has many holes throughout it, as well as a design that allows open channels to form between the ground and the mat. This allows any water blocked by the completed vapor barrier to flow down to the floor and drain away through the shortest path. To finish the installation, a CleanSpace liner was utilized to encapsulate the interior of the crawlspace. This thin white sheet will now lock out any outside moisture that might have otherwise leaked into the space. This will soon eliminate any musty smell that had been coming from the crawlspace as well as protecting the homeowner from typically unseen problems such as mold growth. Now this homeowner can rest assured their crawlspace will remain water free, even during heavy rainfall. Their new vapor barrier will keep this space completely water-free for many years to come!
Gutter Shutter Installation in Belmont, ME
When a homeowner in Belmont, Maine, reached out to us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, they were looking for a reliable solution to protect their home from the frequent rain and runoff that’s common in our area. Initially, they requested an estimate for a new gutter system, seeking a setup that would effectively channel water away from their home without the constant maintenance of typical gutters. After discussing their needs and concerns, we recommended our full Gutter Shutter system.   Our team arrived on-site and began by carefully assessing the property, taking note of the roofline, existing drainage paths, and areas prone to water pooling. We then installed the Gutter Shutter system, a robust and clog-free solution designed to handle heavy rain with ease. This system not only prevents clogs by keeping debris out but also channels water safely away from the home’s foundation, reducing the risk of potential water damage and costly repairs down the road. The installation went smoothly, with each section custom-fitted to the home’s unique structure. Once completed, we walked the homeowner through the details of the system, explaining how it would protect their property by redirecting water efficiently, especially during Maine’s heavy rain seasons. The homeowner was genuinely pleased with how seamlessly the Gutter Shutter system blended with the home’s exterior, and they felt confident knowing they’d no longer need to worry about gutter maintenance or potential water issues around the foundation.     At TC Hafford, we take pride in delivering solutions that make a noticeable difference, and seeing the homeowner’s satisfaction with the project was truly rewarding. It’s always our goal to provide peace of mind and long-term protection for the homes we serve.
Palymra, ME Basement Wall Sealed With FlexiSpan
A homeowner in Palmyra was having water problem in their basement. This problem was being caused by a crack that had formed in one of the walls. This crack was an easy access point for water from the surrounding soil. The homeowner needed a way to fix this, and turned to the Yellow Pages for help; finding TC Hafford Basement Systems. We had a representative take a look, and he decided that FelxiSpan was the best option for this basement. FlexiSpan is a three layer system that starts with filling the crack with a sealant. This is the first line of defense against water trying to enter the basement. This layer is then covered with a foam matting, to act as the secondary barrier protecting against water. Finally the matting is covered in a layer of sealant to lock out any water trying to sneak in. This structure allows for the FlexiSpan to contort to the crack should it shift at all. This homeowner now no longer has a water problem in their basement.
