Wet Basement In Freedom, ME Kept Dry With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Freedom had a basement with an exceptionally smelly odor. This was a clear sign of mold growth, which was caused by moisture making its way into the basement. This moisture issue needed to be addressed, so the homeowner got into contact with TC Hafford Basement Systems. We soon had a representative head out to the home for an inspection and to give a free estimate. We got the go ahead and started work on the basement! The first thing that needed to be done was digging up the interior perimeter of the basement. This trench made it possible to lay a WaterGuard pipe system. This pipe will capture the water entering trough the walls or for before it makes it to the surface. The water is then directed to the sump in the basement. Here we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will take the water from the pipe and force it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. On the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard piece to the PVC line. This is a specialized pipe that allows the water coming from the sumo to exit the pipe should the lower end of the discharge line become blocker by ice or other debris. These additions will keep this homeowner’s basement mold free for many years to come!
Flooding Unity, ME Basement Given TripleSafe Sump Pump Upgrade
A couple in Unity had been dealing with water building up in their basement for years. Having been using a portable pump to remove the water, the homeowners needed a permanent solution. They took to the internet and found TC Hafford Basement Systems. They got in touch and we got started on the basement! We dug out a hole in the basement floor to become the sump within the basement. Within his new sump, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. This device contains three separate pumps. The primary pump handles the bulk of the water, operating the majority of the time. The secondary pump takes over for the primary pump should it fail for any reason and continue to evacuate the water within the basement. The third pump is a battery backup pump. This pump will remain inactive until the power goes out in the home, and then this pump will handle any water that needs to be pumped out of the basement. On the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard piece of pipe to the discharge line through which the water exits. This specially designed pipe will allow the water coming from the pump to continue to leave the home even if the lower end of the pipe becomes blocked by ice or other debris. With this new upgrade, these homeowners can now live care free with a dry basement!
Moist Crawlspace in Pittsfield, ME, Dried and Sealed
A homeowner in Pittsfield had moisture gathering in his crawlspace. This was the first time they had noticed the moisture gathering, and they wanted to get it fixed ASAP. The homeowner got online, and searched for a solution. TC Hafford was the solution they decided to go with! After a quick inspection of the crawlspace, our representative recommended options to the homeowner. After the homeowner made their selection, our crew got to work. To help the water stay outside the crawlspace, we laid down a Drainage Matting. This will let any water on the inside flow to the outside. Then the entire crawlspace got encapsulated by CleanSpace Liner. This liner seals out any moisture, maintaining a dry crawlspace. Finally, we placed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier. This will keep the air dry should any moisture still make its way into the crawlspace. Now this homeowner can focus on other things, without needing to worry about their crawlspace.
Odor Filled Crawlspace in Rockport, ME Is Sealed From Moisture
A homeowner in Rockport had a crawlspace that was rather smelly. This was becoming an issue for the homeowner. They had no intention of finishing the space, or using it for storage, but they wanted something done about the smell. After hearing about us from a contractor, they gave TC Hafford a call. We had a representative go out and take a look, and then we got to work! We started by laying down a drainage matting, to allow any accumulated water to exit the crawlspace without getting trapped. The entire crawlspace was then lined with CleanSpace Liner. This is a white film that will lock out any moisture trying to enter the crawlspace. Thus reducing the amount of moisture getting into the air. Finally we installed a SaniDry XP Dehumidifier. This will completely eliminate any moisture that might make its way into the crawlspace. Removing all moisture from the air will destroy any environment that would allow mold to grow, getting rid of the smell that was causing the homeowner problems.
Leaky Addition In Searsmont, ME Sealed With FlexiSpan
A homeowner in Searsmont had an addition put onto their home. This addition caused leak in the basement of the home, by creating a crack along where the old met the new. This leak was a problem for the homeowner, so they came to TC Hafford Basement Systems to solve their problem. We had a representative take a look, then we got to work! To fix this crack in the joining of the two sides of the house, we used FlexiSpan. Starting this process, we filled the crack with a sealant. This is the first step of FlexiSpan, and acts as a primary barrier against water coming in through the crack. We then laid a foam pad over the top of the crack. This helps the structure of FlexiSpan, allowing it to be flexible, should the crack shift at all. Finally, the foam is covered with a second layer of sealant. This seals the entire piece in place, locking out moisture permanently.
Searsmont, ME Basement Dried & Waterproofed with WaterGuard Piping
A homeowner that lived in Searsmont, ME had been having some problems with moisture leaking into their basement. Unsure how to prevent these leakages on their own, the homeowner needed assistance. After a quick search online, they found TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us to see if we could help. We set them up with a free estimate of what options they had and then got started on the waterproofing once they chose what work they wanted done. When our installation crew arrived at the home, to prevent water from reaching the surface of the concrete floor in the future, a shallow trench was dug into the perimeter. Here, WaterGuard piping was laid, surrounding the basement floor. These pipes, buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, will capture any moisture leaking towards the basement inerior and guided it through the floor directly to the SuperSump sump pump we installed next. The SuperSump takes the collected water and forces it out of the home through a PVC discharge line. On the exterior of the home, two additions were made to the discharge line before our crew was finished. The first was an IceGuard pipe section attached to line just beyond where it exits the home. The IceGuard has special holes built-in which allow for trapped water to escape. This protects the basement from a backup if ice or other debris forms a blockage in the discharge line. Finally, a LawnScape pipe segment was used to cap the end of the line. This piece has a grate covering the end, allowing the water from the sump to flow out without interference. Now that their basement has received a proper waterproofing, this homeowner will no longer suffer from a flooding basement during heavy rainfall. The WaterGuard piping will keep water from gathering on this basement floor for years to come!
Polyurethane Injection Keeps Unwanted Water from Entering Searsmont, ME Basement
After noticing two cracks that had recently opened on their basement walls, this Searsmont, ME homeowner knew right away they needed to do something about them before the problem got worse. Searching online for a solution, they soon came across our TC Hafford website and called us to set up their own free estimate! After meeting with our sales representative, the homeowner gave us the go ahead to get started as soon as our crew was available. Once the crew arrived at the home, they got started on the cracks by clearing them of debris with a coarse brush. This will allow the sealant to better adhere to the walls surface. An initial layer of sealant was then applied over the top of each crack, with plastic plugs being inserted every few feet. Once dried in place, these plugs were opened. Then starting from the bottom and working their way up, our crew injected Polyurethane through each of the plugs into the cracks, resealing each plug once filled. This will completely seal both of these problem cracks, preventing any moisture from flowing through. With the cracks sealed, that’s two less problems on the mind of this homeowner. The Polyurethane Injections will ensure this basement remains leak-free for years to come!
Crack In Rockwood, ME Basement Wall Repaired
A homeowner in Rockwood was having trouble with a crack forming in their basement. This crack was an easy entrance point for moisture, and could lead to water collecting in the basement or mold growth. Neither of these are things a homeowner wants in their basement; this homeowner being no different, they were soon in contact with TC Hafford Basement Systems after hearing about us from a friend. We had a representative at the home within days to look at the basement wall and give a free estimate. The homeowner chose how they wanted the crack fixed, a Polyurethane Injection, and we got to work! We started the fix by covering over the crack with a paste to hold ports in place. We then inject the Polyurethane into the ports where it fills he crack completely, gripping tightly to the concrete around it. This Polyurethane will then harden and form an impassable barrier to lock out any moisture that would otherwise find its way in. Now the crack in this basement wall is a problem of the past!
Mold Problem in Rockwood, ME Prevented with SaniDry Installation
With moisture gathering in their basement, this Rockwood, ME homeowner was worried about a mold problem developing in the space. Once they heard their options, they knew they wanted to move forward with the solution, so we soon got started! When our installation crew got dispatched to the home, they got to work right away on eliminating this homeowner’s moisture problem. To achieve this, a SaniDry XP dehumidifier was installed on the floor of the basement and connected to the existing sump. The SaniDry will take in the moist air from around the basement, separating the moisture from it and circulating dry air back into the space. Over time, this will eliminate the moisture problem in this basement and remove the threat of mold growth entirely. The water collected from the air is passed to the sump to drain out and away from the home. With a dehumidifier in their basement, this homeowner will no longer suffer from a damp, musty basement. Their SaniDry XP will keep this basement air dry and healthy!

A homeowner in Camden was had a basement that would regularly gather water during heavy rains. After dealing with this problem for years, the homeowner decided it was time to put an end to it. We had our representative sent to the home to inspect the basement and give the homeowner a free estimate. They chose what work they wanted and we sent in our crew to get started. This system was then covered over with loose rocks and cement to conceal it beneath the floor without hindering functionality. The WaterGuard will capture water as it enters through the walls or floor, guiding it to the sump. There in the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump, to push the water up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Finally, on the exterior of the home we attached an IceGuard filter to the line.
