Basement In Brooks, ME, Kept Dry With WaterGuard
John from Brooks was in need of a way to keep his basement dry. Water seemed to be coming in from nowhere and this was a problem. One internet search later and John had found TC Hafford Basement Systems. He soon made a phone call to get a free estimate on what could be done to help fix his wet basement problem. After deciding on which solution he wanted, we had out crew get to work on the basement. We dug up the interior perimeter of the basement. This made way for the WaterGuard piping system. This will collect the water coming in from the walls or floor and direct it to the sump. In the sump, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. This pump utilizes three separate pumps. One primary pump, one secondary pump in case there is too much water for the first to handle, and finally a battery powered backup pump for when the power goes out. This pushes the water up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Now this homeowner has a dry basement thanks to WaterGuard!

After visiting a home show in Bangor, she knew TC Hafford Basement Systems would be the ones who could get the job done; so she gave us a call! We started by encapsulating the basement floor and walls with a CleanSpace Liner. This is a thin sheet of plastic that seals moisture outside of the basement. Then over the top of the liner, on the walls, we installed BrightWall Panels. These are a more solid plastic that will protect even more from water trying to enter the basement. Now Donna will have always have a dry basement! No matter the weather.
FlexiSpan Seal Protects Plymouth, ME Basement from Leaking Water
This homeowner that lived in Plymouth, ME had been living with cracks on their basement walls for years. These cracks recently began letting water flow into the basement, causing the homeowner to worry about water damage to their property. As soon as they saw our ad on their TV, they called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems right away to ask what we could do about their wet basement. The homeowner soon received their free estimate from our sales representative, and they hired us to get the job done as soon as our crew was available! When our crew arrived at the home, they got started on FlexiSpan seals to repair these cracks by brushing each crack clear of debris with a coarse brush. This would allow the sealant to better adhere to the surface. An initial layer of sealant was then laid within and slightly around each crack. Next, A foam matting was placed over this initial layer. The foam was then covered by a second layer of sealant, completing the FlexiSpan installations. The foam core within each seal acts to hold the shape of the crack, so that if the crack were to shift in the future, the seal will stay in position. Now this homeowner can relax during rainfall, knowing their basement will no longer take on water through the cracks in the walls. The FlexiSpan seals will keep this basement water-free for years to come!
Wet Crawlspace In Belfast, ME Sealed With CleanSpace
A homeowner in Belfast noticed a smell coming from their crawlspace. This smell was being created by mold growing on the walls. This was due to a high moisture content in the air of the crawlspace. Looking for professional help, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems. We had a representative sent to the home to inspect the basement and give the homeowner their free estimate. They decided on what work they wanted done and we got started. To eliminate the moisture entering the basement, we encapsulated the interior with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner is made of a solid plastic, able to hold back any water trying to find its way to the interior of the crawlspace. We then installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier in the crawlspace. This dehumidifier will take in the moisture from the air, dry it out, and push it out into the further reaches of the crawlspace. This forces more moist air back toward the dehumidifier, creating a cycle of drying air. With these two systems working together, the moisture from the crawlspace has been completely eliminated, along with the proper atmosphere for mold growth. This homeowner should no longer experience a smell coming from their crawlspace.
Uneven Garage Floor In Dexter, ME Realigned With PolyLevel
A homeowner in Dexter had been having a problem with their cement garage floor. It had been slowly sinking into the ground, becoming uneven with the surrounding foundation and driveway. The homeowner needed a way to realign these slabs, but couldn’t do it on their own, so they searched online for help. After coming across TC Hafford Basement Systems, this homeowner knew we were the right company for the job and called us right away. After setting up a meeting, we had our representative head to the home to investigate and give the homeowner their free estimate. They selected how they wanted it fixed and our crew got to work! We needed to bring the garage floor slab back up to its original location. To do this, we needed to put something below the concrete slab. Luckily, we have just the thing for this. To begin, we drilled holes around the slab strategically to get an even spread. Then, through these holes, we pumped in PolyLevel. This is a foam that fills the space between the slab and the ground, lifting it back up to its original placement. Once the slab reached this point, we removed the tubes and allowed the PolyLevel to solidify. This will hold the slab in place, not allowing it to sink back down. Thanks to PolyLevel, this homeowner now has a perfectly level garage floor once again!
BrightWall was the right choice for the Newport, ME, Church of God
In Newport, ME, the Newport Church of God was having some water trouble in their basement. The walls needed to be painted, but with water seeping in through the surrounding soil, the paint just wouldn’t stick to the wall. After seeing TC Hafford Basement Systems at a home show, the Church gave us the opportunity to solve their problem. Once our representative David Zawistowski had a look at the walls, he knew what needed to be done and the team got called in. BrightWall panels were used to cover all the affected walls. These panels keep moisture behind them, and have a nice bright-white color to them. The panels will never deteriorate, and are cut to fit perfectly around any obstacles along the wall, such as pipes or windows. A great choice for both giving the walls a pleasant look, as well as keeping moisture from the surface of the wall.
Newport, ME Basement Protected From Water Damage With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Newport was in need of basement waterproofing. Their basement would regularly flood during heavy rains, which was beginning to leave visible damage around the basement. They needed a way to stop this flooding, and they searched online for a solution. Soon they came across TC Hafford Basement Systems and knew we were the right company for the job! They gave us a call and we had a representative inspect the basement to see what we could do. We gave them a free estimate on the repair costs and then we got to work. We started by digging up the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This gave us room to lay down our WaterGuard pipe system. The WaterGuard is then covered over with loose rocks and cement to conceal it under the floor without hindering functionality. It will capture water as it enters the basement through the walls or floor from the surrounding earth. The water is then guided to the sump, where we installed a SuperSump sump pump. The pump will take the water and push it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Outside the basement, we attached an IceGuard to the discharge line so that the water coming from the SuperSump will continue to flow even if the line becomes blocked by ice or other debris. Finally, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier to dry out the air in the basement. Now the homeowner has a basement that never floods, and dry, healthy air circulating through it!
North Haven, ME Crawlspace Protected By CleanSpace
A homeowner in North Haven was beginning to notice a musty smell coming from their crawlspace. This was an obvious sign of moisture gathering in the basement, and the homeowner searched for a way to prevent moisture build up. They soon heard about TC Hafford Basement Systems from a satisfied previous customer, who recommended us to get the job done. The homeowner called us shortly after to arrange an inspection of their crawlspace. We had a representative take a look at the crawlspace and give the homeowner a free estimate of the cost to eliminate the moisture. The homeowner gave us the green light and we got started! To begin work, we lined the interior wall/floor joint with a Drainage Matting to hold water back from reaching the center of the crawlspace. This allowed time for the water to drain before it would enter the air. We then encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner, which would completely lock out any moisture attempting to leak into the crawlspace through the walls or floor. This will keep the crawlspace dry and eliminate the musty smell once and for all!
North Haven, ME Basement Kept Dry with Installation of WaterGuard Piping
With a concrete foundation below their home, this North Haven, ME homeowner never thought they would have water entering through the floor itself and building up in their basement. Unsure how to stop the leakage, they took to the internet to find a solution. As soon as they found our website for TC Hafford Basement Systems, they knew they found the company for the job. They called us to set up their free estimate and we got to work! When our installation crew arrived at the property, they got started on preparing the floor for waterproofing by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the floor. This allowed for WaterGuard piping to be buried below a fresh layer of concreter, completely encircling the basement floor. These pipes have slits along their bottom edges, trapping leaking moisture within the WaterGuard piping. This water is then guided through the floor to the sump to be removed from the basement without reaching the surface of the floor in the future. Within the sump in this basement floor, a TripleSafe sump system was installed. This device contains three pumps, each activating at different times to keep this basement water-free. The first and second pumps will handle the bulk of the water-removal, with the secondary pump only activating if the primary requires assistance. The third pump is a battery-operated backup pump for when the home loses power. This will keep the basement dry even during rough storms. All of the water is removed through a PVC discharge line where it flows away from the home a distance before being released onto the ground. Now that this homeowner has a waterproofed basement, they can make use of the space as they intended to without needing to worry about water damage. The WaterGuard piping and TripleSafe sump system will make sure of that.
SmartJack Installation Supports Sinking North Haven, ME Crawlspace
Having lived in North Haven, ME for a few years, this homeowner recently did some work in their crawlspace and they noticed the ceiling of the space had begun to sink down lower than it should. Looking to have this resolved before it became a major problem, the homeowner quickly searched online and discovered our TC Hafford Basement Systems website. They called us soon after to receive their free estimate. The homeowner then hired us to get the job done once the estimate concluded. As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to get to work right away on the bowing crawlspace ceiling. To begin, engineered fill was used as a base for the footings of the new supports to be placed on. This will provide a sturdy hold for the supports against the dirt below. Next, the SmartJack support pylons were placed on each of the installed footholds. These SmartJack supports can be adjusted to extend or retract the plate that presses against the joists above the crawlspace. Once the ceiling was fully supported by these new pylons, the old, failing supports were removed from the space. Now that this crawlspace has received some new supports, this homeowner can rest assured their home will not suffer from any more sinking or potential cracking. The SmartJack supports will hold this home firmly in place for years into the future!
