This musty crawlspace in Bridgton, ME, was collecting more water than the homeowner cared for, and needed some improvements. After seeing TC Hafford Basement Systems on TV, the homeowner gave us a call and set up a meeting. Once Peter Folsom understood the situation and what the homeowner wanted done, the crew came in and got the job done in the same day they started. For this crawlspace, to keep water to a minimum, the ground was lined with a Drainage Matting, which was then covered over by a CleanSpace Liner. This allowed the water to drain out of the crawl space, while keeping the moisture and bacteria locked out of the crawlspace. This was a quick job that left out client happy.

A homeowner in Bridgton was looking to have their basement finished, but with water leaking into it during rain, this wasn’t going to happen. Before they could move forward with finishing their basement, they needed to waterproof their basement. They soon heard about TC Hafford Basement Systems from a satisfied previous customer and they contacted us right away. We had a representative give the homeowner a free estimate and got to work on the basement! We dug out a hole in the basement floor to create a sump. This is where the water will naturally gather. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will take the gathered water and force it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Now this homeowner can finally finish their basement now that it has been waterproofed.

The owner of a multi-unit condo building was experiencing leaking in one of the condo basements, which had caused mold issues. The owner wanted to be able to finish the basement, and ensure they would not have mold again. To waterproof the space, we installed WaterGuard perimeter drainage system, which captures any moisture and channels it directly to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe pumps water away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line. The TripleSafe is the top of the line sump system, featuring two Zoeller pumps, as well as a third battery back up pump that operates even if the home loses power.

A moving wall was creating problems for this Bridgton, ME, homeowner, leading to an unstable foundation and water in their basement. Wanting to get ahead of the issue before springtime when the water is worse, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate. System Design Specialist Sam Crowley met with the homeowner, and together they designed a waterproofing and foundation repair system that would meet the needs of the home and protect their family. When a foundation begins to move or break down, the home would have to be lifted and a new foundation poured in its place. With StableLock Wall System, the homeowner never has to leave the comfort of their home. StableLock is a quicker and more cost-effective solution to a failing foundation using modern shoring and forming methods. StableLock fills the voids of the failing wall, stabilizing it and leaving a new, smooth wall in its place. To catch groundwater and keep the basement dry, WaterGuard was installed where needed to channel water to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe sump pump features two Zoeller pumps with an included battery-powered backup pump. The battery backup pump comes on in the event of a power outage, keeping the homeowner protected from water coming into their basement and causing issues. The TripleSafe takes the water and pumps it out through the new Exterior Buried Discharge line. The Discharge line takes the water far from the home, and with the installed IceGuard, the system is protected against ice buildup, and the system runs all year without issue. To finish the waterproofing system, the homeowner opted to have a SaniDry Sedona installed to keep the humidity in their basement at a safe level. Now the homeowner is able to enjoy their basement and use it for storage without the risk of their belongings being damaged.

Linda from Eliot, ME, was having issues with water entering her basement through a crack in the wall. This crack was 1.6’ long, and was an excellent place for water to flow through from the surrounding earth. To seal this crack, and prevent any water from leaking through in the future, we used Flexispan. This involves covering the crack with a special flexible sealant. Then this sealant is covered with a unique Flexispan foam material. Finally a coating of sealant is applied over the foam material, sealing it against the wall. This crack won’t ever leak water into this basement again.

An Eliot, Maine homeowner was tired of dealing with a wet basement and wanted help keeping their space dry. We integrated three products that work seamlessly together to waterproof a space: WaterGuard, TripleSafe, and a SaniDry Sedona. WaterGuard is a drainage system that is installed around the perimeter of a basement to collect water seeping in. WaterGuard connects to the TripleSafe sump pump, so the water is immediately removed from the home by the pump. A SaniDry Sedona high efficiency air system has high filtration capabilities to remove allergens, as well as the ability to control humidity in the basement to a healthy level. Our homeowners have a dry, usable basement again!

A couple in Hanover had been living in their home for 40 years. They had recently noticed two cracks in their basement wall where water was coming in through. They were using their basement for storage at the time, and needed to stop this water from entering as soon as possible! They soon saw TC Hafford Basement Systems at a home show, and knew we were the right people for the job! They contacted us shortly after the show and we got to work! To seal the cracks, we used FlexiSpan. This is a three-tier structure, which is flexible, and able to contort to a crack, should the wall shift at all. The first layer is a layer of sealant applied directly into the crack. Next, a foam mat is laid over the top of the sealant, this is where the flexibility comes from. Finally, a second layer of sealant is applied over the foam, holding the structure in place, and completely locking out any moisture trying to enter through the crack. This FlexiSpan is sure to keep even a 40-year-old basement dry!
