Harrison, ME Basement Kept Free of Water with WaterGuard Installation
A homeowner living in Harrison, ME was having trouble with the sump in their basement. The water that was leaking into the basement would occasionally gather in puddles instead of exiting through the sump. This dampness was a problem the homeowner wanted to deal with right away. After seeing an ad for TC Hafford Basement Systems on their TV, they called us to receive their free estimate. When they decided on what work they wanted done, they gave us the go-ahead to begin work! Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on using WaterGuard piping to keep this basement dry. To achieve this, a shallow trench was excavated into the perimeter of the basement floor for the WaterGuard to be laid in. The WaterGuard will surround the basement beneath the surface of the floor, feeding directly into the existing sump. After being buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, the WaterGuard will now take in any leaking moisture through small slits along the bottom edge of each pipe. This will handle any water problems before they ever reach the surface of the basement floor. Now that the WaterGuard has been installed in this basement floor, a flooding basement is now a thing of the past for this home. The homeowner will no longer need to manually sweep water to sump to be removed from the basement.
Leaking Crack in Harrison, ME Sealed with FlexiSpan
Having been living with a damp basement for some time, this Harrison, ME homeowner though it was time they had something done to dry their basement. A crack along one of the concrete walls was the problem causing the dampness below this home. Wanting the job done right the first time, the homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems as soon as they saw us on their TV. Once they sat down with one of our sales representatives, the homeowner decided they wanted us to solve their wet basement problem! As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started clearing the crack of small debris using a coarse brush. To begin sealing this crack, a layer of sealant was applied within and around the length of the crack. Next, a foam core was laid along the crack, covered by a second layer of sealant. This forms a FlexiSpan seal over the crack. As the name suggests, the FlexiSpan is able to conform to small changes in the shape of the crack over time to prevent future leakages. The completed seal will keep out the moisture that had been so easily leaking into the basement in the past. With their new seal in place, the crack in this homeowner’s basement will no longer be a problem. The FlexiSpan will keep this crack from leaking for many years into the future!

Wet Crawlspace In Goram, ME Kept Dry Using CleanSpace
A couple in Gorham was looking experiencing moisture gathering in their crawlspace. They needed a proper vapor barrier to help keep out this water. Looking for the right company for the job, they came across TC Hafford Basement Systems one day while watching television. They called us soon after to set up a meeting with one of our representatives. We gave them their free estimate, and they chose to go ahead and have us install a proper vapor barrier for them. We sent in our crew and got to work! We began installing the vapor barrier by laying down a Drainage Matting. This mat lays against the wall/floor joint around the inside perimeter of the crawlspace. This is where most of the water coming in will coalesce and the mat allows this water time to drain, without it reaching the interior of the crawlspace. Next, we encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This is a thin plastic sheet that covers everything except for the ceiling of the crawlspace. This will lock out any moisture trying too finds its way into the interior of the crawlspace. Whether it’s trying to pool up on the floor or make its way into the air, no water is going to be entering the crawlspace from the outside anymore. Now this couple has a proper vapor barrier, thanks to CleanSpace.

They soon heard about TC Hafford Basement Systems, and got in contact with us right away. We gave them their free estimate then got to work! We began by lining the inside of the crawlspace with a Drainage Matting. This held back the water entering the crawlspace and allowed it time to drain back into the soil. Crawlspace In Raymond, ME Sealed With CleanSpace
Tom from Raymond was in the market for a vapor barrier for his crawlspace. He had been experiencing flooding in the space, and needed it to stop before any permanent damage happened. Tom soon saw TC Hafford Basement Systems on his television, and gave us a call. We had a representative at his home in no time to inspect the crawlspace and give Tom a free estimate. He selected the solution he wanted and we sent in our crew. In order to form a proper vapor barrier in the crawlspace, we needed to line the walls with sheets that wouldn’t allow for the passage of water. We began by laying a Drainage Matting around the perimeter of the crawlspace, at the wall/floor joint. This will hold back a good amount of water, giving it time to drain back into the soil before reaching the center of the space. We then encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This is a plastic sheet that will lock out any moisture attempting to find its way into the crawlspace. These two layers working together will keep out moisture and maintain a dry crawlspace for Tom.

We had a representative inspect the crawlspace and give her a free estimate on the cost of a new vapor barrier. She gave us the go ahead and we got to work! Without allowing it to pool up further towards the center of the crawlspace. We then encapsulated the entire crawlspace with a CleanSpae Liner, except for the ceiling. This plastic sheet of CleanSpace will hold back any moisture from the outside. Not allowing water to gather within the crawlspace itself. Finally, to keep the air quality dry, we installed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier. This will take in the moist air from around the crawlspace, and dry it out. Maintaining a dry, healthy atmosphere within the crawlspace. Now Pam has a dry crawlspace and a fully functioning vapor barrier. Water should no longer be an issue for this Casco crawlspace!
