Damp Crawlspace In Bethel, ME Dried With CleanSpace
Steven in Bethel was starting to notice a smell coming from his crawlspace. This was a sign of mold growth, which is caused by moist air. Steven needed to stop this mold growth, and in order to do that, he needed to have his crawlspace waterproofed. To get the job done right, Steven called TC Hafford Basement Systems. We sent out a representative to inspect the crawlspace and give the homeowner a free estimate on what could be done to solve his problem. He decided on what he wanted done and we got started. To maintain a dry atmosphere within the crawlspace, we needed to give the homeowner a proper vapor barrier. We encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner covers the walls and the floor entirely. CleanSpace is made of plastic, which water cannot pass through, locking any moisture out of the crawlspace completely. This will keep Stevens crawlspace dry and mold free for the future.
Ocean Park, ME Crawlspace Sealed Off From Moisture With CleanSpace
Tony from Ocean Park was in the market for getting his crawlspace vapor barrier redone. It wasn’t done properly the first time, and was allowing moisture to accumulate within the crawlspace. Tony got online to find his answer, and he found it with TC Hafford Basement Systems. He contacted us and we had a representative out at the home in no time to give Tony his free estimate. He selected what work he wanted done and we got started! First, we laid a Drainage Matting around the interior perimeter of the crawlspace. This will hold back most of the moisture entering the crawlspace and give it time to drain out through the floor. On top of the Drainage Matting, we covered the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner will ensure nearly all of the moisture coming in through the walls or floor are kept locked underneath it, not allowing for water to gather within the crawlspace. Finally, to guarantee a dry atmosphere within the crawlspace, we installed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier. This will cycle the moist air until all that is left is dry, healthy air. Now Tony has a functioning vapor barrier and a dry crawlspace, thanks to CleanSpace!

Sump Pump Pit In Harrison, ME, Needs New Pump
A homeowner in Harrison was having trouble with their current sump pump. They had contacted TC Hafford at a previous residence for basement work; and now gave us another call to get this new basement done! His current sump pump wasn’t pumping water like it used to. Water was starting to collect in and around the sump for extended periods of time. We had a representative head out to take a look and offer potential solutions. Once the homeowner decided on what they wanted done, we got to work! We started the job by removing the old pump. It wasn’t going to be doing the homeowner any good anymore. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump into the old sump. This new sump should do the trick when it comes to pushing out the water that gathers in the sump. Finally, on the outside of the house, we attached an IceGuard filter to the PVC discharge line. This will ensure water continues to drain should the lower end of the pipe become blocked by ice or debris. Now this homeowner is worry free with a dry basement!
Harrison, ME Basement Kept Free of Water with WaterGuard Installation
A homeowner living in Harrison, ME was having trouble with the sump in their basement. The water that was leaking into the basement would occasionally gather in puddles instead of exiting through the sump. This dampness was a problem the homeowner wanted to deal with right away. After seeing an ad for TC Hafford Basement Systems on their TV, they called us to receive their free estimate. When they decided on what work they wanted done, they gave us the go-ahead to begin work! Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on using WaterGuard piping to keep this basement dry. To achieve this, a shallow trench was excavated into the perimeter of the basement floor for the WaterGuard to be laid in. The WaterGuard will surround the basement beneath the surface of the floor, feeding directly into the existing sump. After being buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, the WaterGuard will now take in any leaking moisture through small slits along the bottom edge of each pipe. This will handle any water problems before they ever reach the surface of the basement floor. Now that the WaterGuard has been installed in this basement floor, a flooding basement is now a thing of the past for this home. The homeowner will no longer need to manually sweep water to sump to be removed from the basement.
Leaking Crack in Harrison, ME Sealed with FlexiSpan
Having been living with a damp basement for some time, this Harrison, ME homeowner though it was time they had something done to dry their basement. A crack along one of the concrete walls was the problem causing the dampness below this home. Wanting the job done right the first time, the homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems as soon as they saw us on their TV. Once they sat down with one of our sales representatives, the homeowner decided they wanted us to solve their wet basement problem! As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started clearing the crack of small debris using a coarse brush. To begin sealing this crack, a layer of sealant was applied within and around the length of the crack. Next, a foam core was laid along the crack, covered by a second layer of sealant. This forms a FlexiSpan seal over the crack. As the name suggests, the FlexiSpan is able to conform to small changes in the shape of the crack over time to prevent future leakages. The completed seal will keep out the moisture that had been so easily leaking into the basement in the past. With their new seal in place, the crack in this homeowner’s basement will no longer be a problem. The FlexiSpan will keep this crack from leaking for many years into the future!
A Complete Basement Waterproofing System in Harrison, ME
This Harrison, ME, homeowner noticed that water would come into their basement during heavy rains. Wanting to protect their finished basement from damage, the homeowner reached out to TC Hafford Basement System for help. System Design Specialist Sam Crowley worked with the homeowner to design a waterproofing system specific to their home.   Where needed, the carpet was pulled back so WaterGuard could be installed. Once the concrete is finished drying, the carpet can be reinstalled. WaterGuard captures and channels water to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The Triplesafe features two Zoeller sumps and an additional battery backup powered sump in case of a power outage. CleanSpace Wall System was installed, which is a durable vapor barrier and was connected to the WaterGuard. A SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed in the space to maintain a safe humidity throughout the basement. Finally, the TripleSafe was connected to a brand new Buried Exterior Discharge line that takes the water far away from the home. To keep the system running during the winter months without any issues, IceGuard was installed to prevent ice buildup, ensuring the system never stops working. The homeowner is able to enjoy their basement without the concern of water causing them costly repairs.
Failing Sump Pump In Old Orchard Beach, ME Replaced With Working SuperSump
A homeowner in Old Orchard Beach was having trouble with their sump pump. During heavy rains, the pump would be overwhelmed by the water and allow it to pool up inside the basement, flooding it. The homeowner wanted this to end, so they asked around and soon heard about TC Hafford Basement Systems from a friend. We were just the company this homeowner needed, and they called us right away. We set up a meeting with the homeowner, and gave them their free estimate. They chose what they wanted and our crew was dispatched! We removed the old sump pump to begin. It was serving no further purpose and was disposed of properly. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump in the sump. This sump pump is capable of pumping 2,650 gallons of water per hour. This will be able to handle any amount of rain water that could possibly fall and gather in the basement. This new SuperSump will easily maintain a dry basement for this homeowner. They won’t be having any more flooding problems in the future!
Crumbling Crawl Space Foundation Fixed with StableLock
This Old Orchard Beach, ME, homeowner was looking to retire and spend time enjoying their home, but they were unable to relax when they knew that work needed to be done to their crawl space. The homeowner’s cinder block foundation was moving in the corner and even crumbling in section. They already had to replace carrying beams because of rot due to high moisture. Looking for a solution that would fix their problems and give them peace of mind, they booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Brian Donnelly met with the homeowner, and together they designed a system that would surpass the homeowner’s expectations and stabilize and protect the home.   First, the failing foundation wall needed to be addressed to protect the home from shifting and causing damage to the walls and putting the homeowner in unsafe living conditions. A StableLock wall system was installed where necessary to stabilize the wall and prevent it from ever shifting again. StableLock fills voids and creates a smooth wall with the best qualities of a newly poured foundation without the need to lift the home, which is more expensive and requires the occupants to move out for a period of time. StableLock can be set up and installed in just two days without the homeowner having to leave the property at all.   Next, the moisture and high humidity needed to be taken care of to protect the home against mold and more wood rot. To handle groundwater, Perforated Pipe was installed to channel water to the new TripleCrawl Sump Pump system. The TripleCrawl system is capable of taking large amounts of water and pumping it out of the crawl space through a Buried Discharge Line that takes the water far away from the home. To keep the system running all year round without being interrupted by the harsh Maine winters, IceGuard was installed on the Discharge line to prevent ice buildup.   The area needed to be encapsulated for maximum protection, so CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was installed to create an inorganic barrier between the outside elements and the crawl space. Drainage Matting is laid down first. Drainage Matting features a durable construction with large dimples that help channel water and keep the CleanSpace above clean. CleanSpace is installed and attached to the walls with SprayFoam to create a tight seal that keeps out moisture and critters that could cause damage. CleanSpace is a super durable vapor barrier that is a permanent fix and turns an open crawl space into an encapsulated area that is perfect for storage.   Finally, a SaniDry Sedona was installed that drains directly to the TripleCrawl Sump Pump so the homeowner never has to worry about emptying a bucket, and their crawl space is kept at a safe humidity level 24/7. Now the homeowner is able to retire into the home and enjoy the peace and quiet without worrying about the stability of their home or their crawl space being an area of misery anymore.
Wet Crawlspace In Goram, ME Kept Dry Using CleanSpace
A couple in Gorham was looking experiencing moisture gathering in their crawlspace. They needed a proper vapor barrier to help keep out this water. Looking for the right company for the job, they came across TC Hafford Basement Systems one day while watching television. They called us soon after to set up a meeting with one of our representatives. We gave them their free estimate, and they chose to go ahead and have us install a proper vapor barrier for them. We sent in our crew and got to work! We began installing the vapor barrier by laying down a Drainage Matting. This mat lays against the wall/floor joint around the inside perimeter of the crawlspace. This is where most of the water coming in will coalesce and the mat allows this water time to drain, without it reaching the interior of the crawlspace. Next, we encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This is a thin plastic sheet that covers everything except for the ceiling of the crawlspace. This will lock out any moisture trying too finds its way into the interior of the crawlspace. Whether it’s trying to pool up on the floor or make its way into the air, no water is going to be entering the crawlspace from the outside anymore. Now this couple has a proper vapor barrier, thanks to CleanSpace.
