Flooding Basement in Waterville, ME Drained With WaterGuard
A couple in Waterville were having trouble with water leaking into their basement. This leakage was exceptionally bad in one corner. The water would pool up on the floor and leave behind a smell when it would finally dry. The homeowners searched for a way to remedy this, eventually finding TC Hafford Basement Systems while watching their TV. They called us right away and received their free estimate. After they chose what work they wanted done on their basement, we got to work! We began by excavating the interior perimeter of the basement floor. This gave us a trench to lay our WaterGuard pipe into. This is a specially designed pipe which captures water as it tries to enter the basement through the walls or floor, via what is called hydrostatic pressure. This piping system then carries the water to the sump, where we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe is composed of three pumps. One primary pump for the bulk of the water. A secondary pump in case the primary malfunctions. Then a third, battery-backup pump for when the power goes out. The water guided to the sump is then pushed out through a PVC Discharge line. On the exterior of the home, attached to a discharge line, we added an IceGuard piece. This unique piece of pipe allows water to continue to flow from the line, even if the lower end is blocked by any debris. With these systems in place, the water trying to enter the basement will be directed out of the basement before ever reaching the surface of the concrete floor. Now this couple can rest assured, they no longer have to deal with water collecting in their basement!
New Slab and Waterproofing in Waterville, ME
Every time it rained, water would come into this Waterville, ME, basement and leave a mess on the floor. After putting a tarp down to try and contain the mess, the homeowner knew they needed a permanent solution to their basement problems. The homeowner booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems, and System Design Specialist Ken Castillo met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a system that was right for them. The homeowner opted to install a new Slab with WaterGuard. Before the new slab was poured, the area was cleaned out, and Drainage Matting was laid down to create an inorganic barrier between the outside elements and protect the new slab. WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the basement where needed to collect and channel water. The water needs to go somewhere, so the WaterGuard was connected to a new SuperSump Plus, which takes the water and pumps it out of the basement through a Exterior Buried Discharge line. The Discharge line takes the water far from the home and is protected from ice buildup with the installation of IceGuard. After the area was done being prepped, the new slab was ready to be poured, and the homeowner now has a wonderful basement that is safe to use, and the tarp can now be kept in the garage.

A homeowner in South China was having moisture gather in their basement. This moisture could easily lead to the growth of mold. The homeowner took to the internet for a solution. TC Hafford got the call and sent a team out to fix the problem! After inspecting the basement, the optimal solution was to install a dehumidifier. The homeowner chose to go with a SaniDry XP. This dehumidifier will now keep the homeowners basement dry and moisture free!
Puddles by Your Laundry Machine
When it rains, it puddles, but unfortunately, it puddles in this South China, ME homeowner’s basement as well as their driveway. Looking to keep the rain outside, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate to see what we could do about their water problems. System Design Specialist Adam Hamm drove out to meet the homeowner and work with them to design a waterproofing system that would solve their troubles. Needing to handle ground and rainwater, WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the slab to channel the water. The water needs a place to go, so a TripleSafe Sump Pump was installed at the lowest point and connected to the WaterGuard to pump the water out of the basement and through a Buried Discharge Line. The Buried Discharge Line takes the water far from the home where it can’t cause any trouble, and to prevent ice buildup from hindering the system during the winter months, IceGuard was installed. To finish up the system, the old sump hole was filled in and capped, and now the homeowner no longer has to deal with water in their basement.
Damp Basement in Waldoboro, ME, Waterproofed The Right Way
A homeowner in Waldoboro had a basement which would regularly get wet whenever it rained. Even though this homeowner had a sump pump to remove the water from his basement, he had to way to guarantee the water would reach the sump. This allowed for the water to build up and dampen roughly a quarter of his basement. The homeowner thought this was no good, so once he saw an ad for TC Hafford Basement Systems on the TV, he gave us a call. After the homeowner decided what he wanted done to help fix his problem, our crew got to work. The first thing we did was dig out the perimeter of the homeowner’s basement. This would allow for the placement of a WaterGuard system, to reroute any water trying to enter the basement through the walls, or up from the ground. This rerouting would lead the water to the newly installed SuperSump sump pump. This pump takes the water and pushes it up and out of the basement, keeping the floors and air of the basement dry. The water is then passed through an IceGuard filter once outside the house. This filter acts as a normal pipe when everything is functioning normally. But once the pipe gets blocked, be it by ice or other debris, the IceGuard will allow water to exit the pipe and prevent the whole system from backing up. This homeowner now has a 100% dry basement.
Waterproofing Solutions for a Historic Home in Waldoboro, ME
A homeowner in Waldoboro, Maine, reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems regarding their 200-year-old property. The house, rich in history, had a cellar with an earthen floor and concrete block walls that had been spray foam insulated. While the insulation provided some protection, the homeowners noticed water seeping into the cellar, raising concerns about moisture and potential damage to the foundation.   Our team at TC Hafford Basement Systems visited the property for a thorough evaluation. Given the age of the home and the condition of the cellar, we recommended a comprehensive solution to manage the water infiltration and improve air quality in the space. Our crew installed the CleanSpace liner and drainage matting to cover the floor, providing a moisture barrier that would channel any incoming water to the drainage system. The liner was carefully attached using spray foam for added insulation and to ensure a seamless fit along the walls. To address the humidity and keep the air dry, we installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. This powerful system works by removing moisture from the air, preventing mold growth and keeping the cellar dry and healthy. By combining these elements, the homeowners now have a fully protected cellar that can withstand moisture and humidity, preserving their historic home for years to come.     The homeowners were highly satisfied with the results, knowing their home's foundation is now safeguarded against water intrusion and humidity issues.
Garage Slab In Solon, ME Leveled With PolyLevel
A homeowner in Solon had started to notice their garage floor slab was sinking down creating a discrepancy between it and the rest of the foundation. This needed to be addressed as soon as possible, but this homeowner was unsure how to fix this issue. They got online and searched for a solution. TC Hafford Basement Systems was the exact solution they were looking for, and they found us not long after starting their search. They gave us a call, and we got to work! To realign the slab with the rest of the foundation, we needed to inject PolyLevel underneath it. This is a special foam that, once injected, will push the slab back up off the ground. After returning the slab to its original position, the PolyLevel will set and solidify. Holding the garage floor in place for years to come. Now this homeowner has a newly leveled garage floor that is no longer a cause for concern!
Leaky Dirt Basement In China Village, ME Given Proper Vapor Barrier With CleanSpace
A homeowner in China Village owned an exceptionally old home, with a dirt basement. This basement was never given a proper vapor barrier, and would regularly become damp, or gather pools of water. The homeowner wanted to have this put to an end, and sought help online. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and gave us a call. We gave the homeowner a free estimate, and then we got to work! We began work on the basement by grading the floor, to level out the surface. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump to pump out any water gathering underneath the vapor barrier. Attached to the discharge line coming from the pump, we added an IceGuard piece on the exterior of the home. This piece is designed so that should the lower end of the pipe become blocked, the water can still escape. Next, we lined the wall/floor joint around the basement perimeter with a Drainage Matting. This matting is intended to hold the water back, allowing it time to drain back into the dirt. Finally, we encapsulated the entire space with a CleanSpace Liner. This lining is made of a thin plastic, and covers all of the walls, supports, and the floor of the basement. The CleanSpace will hold back any moisture trying to reach the center of the space, forcing it to either drain away into the soil, or gather within the sump to be pumped out. Now with a properly installed vapor barrier, this homeowner will no longer experience any issues with water gathering within their basement.
Basement & Crawlspace In Friendship, ME Completely Waterproofed Using Waterguard And CleanSpace
A homeowner in Friendship, ME needed to get her basement and crawlspace waterproofed before she could finish her basement. This would be a rather large undertaking. After a friend told her about TC Hafford Basement Systems, she made a call to set up a meeting. After meeting with one of our representatives and receiving an estimate, she chose what work she wanted done. We dispatched our crew to the house and got to work! We started with the crawlspace, lining the inside perimeter with a Drainage Matting. This is then covered with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner covers the entire crawlspace, save for the ceiling. Locking out all moisture that might otherwise has leaked into the crawlspace. Next, we excavated the interior perimeter of the basement to allow for the installation of a WaterGuard system. This system collects water as it enters the basement through the walls or floor. Guiding it toward the sump location. This WaterGuard system is then covered over with a fresh layer of cement to hide it within the basement floor. We capped off the WaterGuard pipes with a SmartSump sump pump to remove the water from the basement. Following the PVC discharge pipe out of the basement, we attached an IceGuard on the outside of the home. This is a special piece of pipe on a discharge line that will allow the evacuated water to continue to flow should the lower portion of the pipe become blocked by ice or debris. Finally, we installed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier. This will guarantee the homeowner maintains a dry basement even if moisture makes it into the air.
