BrightWall Installation Helps Finish South Thomaston, ME Basement
Looking to finish their basement, this South Thomaston, ME homeowner had a few problems to tackle before they could do anything. With water leaking into the basement through the concrete foundation, this homeowner required assistance with keeping the water at bay. Shortly after seeing TC Hafford on their TV, they called us to set up a time to receive their free estimate. Once they spoke with our sales representative, the homeowner hired us to solve their water problem for them right away! As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, their first task was to eliminate the moisture problem. This was done by burying a WaterGuard piping system below fresh concrete, within the perimeter of the basement floor. These pipes capture moisture traveling through the floor, guiding it to the sump where it will be removed from the basement without reaching the floors surface. Next, BrightWall panels were used to cover the concrete walls of the basement. These panels will brighten up the interior of this basement with their light coloring as well as providing further protection against moisture leaking through the concrete walls. Any moisture caught between the BrightWall and the foundation will funnel down into the WaterGuard and swiftly flow out of the home. With the leaking water dealt with and the bright new walls, this homeowner can finally move forward with their plans to use their basement as a livable space! The WaterGuard piping will ensure no water makes it onto this basement floor in the future.
Cracked Wall In Hartland, ME Basement Sealed With FlexiSpan
A homeowner in Hartland noticed he had a crack in the wall of his basement. This crack in the foundation was a highway for water from the surrounding soil to enter into the basement through. After not being able to stop this water himself, the homeowner searched online for a solution. He soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and contacted us to set up a meeting. He received his free estimate and then we got to work! To seal the crack, we needed to apply FlexiSpan; A flexible structure able to hold back moisture while adhering to the crack. We began by filling the crack with a layer of sealant. This primary layer is then covered over with a foam matting. This mat gives the structure its flexibility. Finally, we applied another layer of sealant over the top of the matting. This completes the FlexiSpan, locking out any moisture. The flexibility of this seal will allow the FlexiSpan to bend, and stay over the crack should the basement wall move in any wall. With FlexiSpan in place, this homeowner has a dry basement floor again; Which will hopefully stay that way!

We had a representative at the home in now time for the inspection. After the homeowner chose what work they wanted done we were able to start working! We began by digging out a sump, and installing a SmartSump sump pump. This will take any water gathered in the crawlspace and evacuate it through a PVC discharge line. We then lined the interior wall/floor joint with a Drainage Matting. This mat will hold back water coming in through this joint, allowing it time to drain away before making its way to the interior of the crawlspace. Next, we encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This locks out any moisture trying to enter through the walls or floor of the crawlspace. Forcing it all to either drain back away naturally or through the sump. Finally, we installed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier. This dehumidifier will take the leftover moisture, and any future moisture out of the air, creating and maintaining a dry and healthy atmosphere. With these systems in place, the interior of this homeowner’s crawlspace will remain dry for many years to come. He no longer has to fear water damage!

Living in Owls Head, ME, this homeowner had recently been struggling to keep water from accumulating into puddles on their basement floor. With a concrete foundation surrounding the space, the homeowner was unsure just how the water was entering their basement. After seeing TC Hafford Basement Systems on their television, the homeowner decided to call us and see if we could solve their wet basement problem! We set them up with a free estimate and our sales representative met with the homeowner to discuss the available options shortly after. They then gave us the green light to begin work we got started! When our installation crew made it out to the home, they began by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the concrete floor. This would enable WaterGuard piping to be laid, surrounding the basement. A TripleSafe sump system was then installed with the WaterGuard piping feeding directly into the sump. Next, the trench was filled in with loose rocks and a fresh layer of concrete. Now, the WaterGuard will capture any leaking moisture within the floor and guide it to the TripleSafe for removal before the water can even reach the surface. The TripleSafe unit will handle pumping water up and out of the home using its three pumps inside. With two main pumps to handle the bulk of the water and a battery backup pump, the TripleSafe will keep this basement completely water-free! With their newly waterproofed basement, this homeowner can now make better use of the space without fearing damage. Wet Basement In Freedom, ME Kept Dry With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Freedom had a basement with an exceptionally smelly odor. This was a clear sign of mold growth, which was caused by moisture making its way into the basement. This moisture issue needed to be addressed, so the homeowner got into contact with TC Hafford Basement Systems. We soon had a representative head out to the home for an inspection and to give a free estimate. We got the go ahead and started work on the basement! The first thing that needed to be done was digging up the interior perimeter of the basement. This trench made it possible to lay a WaterGuard pipe system. This pipe will capture the water entering trough the walls or for before it makes it to the surface. The water is then directed to the sump in the basement. Here we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will take the water from the pipe and force it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. On the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard piece to the PVC line. This is a specialized pipe that allows the water coming from the sumo to exit the pipe should the lower end of the discharge line become blocker by ice or other debris. These additions will keep this homeowner’s basement mold free for many years to come!

The secondary pump takes over for the primary pump should it fail for any reason and continue to evacuate the water within the basement. The third pump is a battery backup pump. This pump will remain inactive until the power goes out in the home, and then this pump will handle any water that needs to be pumped out of the basement. On the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard piece of pipe to the discharge line through which the water exits. This specially designed pipe will allow the water coming from the pump to continue to leave the home even if the lower end of the pipe becomes blocked by ice or other debris. With this new upgrade, these homeowners can now live care free with a dry basement!
