Nobleboro, ME Basement Protected from Flooding with WaterGuard Installation
After living with a wet basement for years, this Nobleboro, ME homeowner had had enough! They needed a way to keep water from flooding their basement during heavy rainfall and they searched online to find the solution to their problem. Once they looked over our TC Hafford Basement Systems website, they called us right away to set up their free estimate! The homeowner soon sat down with our sales representative to go over their options before deciding on how they wanted their basement waterproofed! When our installation crew arrived at the home to get started, they began by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the concrete basement floor. This trench would allow our crew to install WaterGuard piping within the outer edge of this floor. Now, after being buried below fresh concrete, the WaterGuard piping will capture water as it leaks through the foundation. The water enters the WaterGuard through small slits along the bottom edge of each pipe. Once trapped, the collected water is passed to a SuperSump installed in the floor. This device will pump the water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Outside the home, two additions were made to the discharge line before we were finished waterproofing this basement. The first addition was an IceGuard pipe section attached just beyond where the line leaves the home. The IceGuard has upward facing holes built in that do not impede normal water flow. These holes only allow for trapped water to escape, when blocked by ice or other debris. This will protect the basement from flooding due to a blockage in the discharge line. Finally, a LawnScape discharge port was attached to the end of the line. Here, the water will flow out onto the lawn through a grate that will keep most debris from entering the line. With everything in place, this homeowner will no longer suffer from a wet basement! They can now make use of the space without moisture damaging their belongings.
Crawlspace In Bremen, ME Sealed Off From The Elements With CleanSpace
A homeowner in Bremen was looking to finish their basement, but water would leak in through the floors of both the basement and the attached crawlspace. This was a problem that needed to be addressed before any progress could be made in finishing the basement. After the homeowner saw an ad for TC Hafford Basement Systems on their television, they knew they found the solution to their problem. They gave us a call and we got to work! We got to work by first taking care of the wet crawlspace. We covered the interior perimeter of the crawlspace with a Drainage Matting. This will hold any water back from the interior of the crawlspace. We then encapsulated the entire crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner will lock out any moisture from entering the crawlspace by covering the entirety of the walls and floor. The final step of the waterproofing process was laying down ThermalDry Flooring tiles on the basement floor. These are insulated tiles which will keep the water from reaching the surface; as well as maintaining a relatively warm floor temperature compared to that of a concrete floor. Now this homeowner can finish their basement without concern for water damage!
Bremen, ME Basement Kept Water-Free with WaterGuard Installation
Even with a concrete foundation below their home, this Bremen, ME homeowner would still find moisture collecting in their basement. This dampness was beginning to become a problem for the homeowner, so they made sure to write down our number at TC Hafford the next time they saw our ad on TV. After speaking with our office staff, the homeowner was set up with a free estimate to inform them of their options. They soon gave us the green light to get started on waterproofing their basement! As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, their first task was to excavate a shallow trench into the perimeter of the concrete floor. Inside this, a track of WaterGuard piping was laid, surrounding the floor. These pipes, buried below a layer of loose rocks and fresh concrete, will act to capture leaking moisture in the future. Once it traps water through slits along the lower edge of each pipe, the water is guided through the WaterGuard to the sump where our crew installed a SuperSump pump. This device will force the collected water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The water then travels away from the home a distance before being released onto the lawn to harmlessly drain away into the ground. Now that their basement floor has proper waterproofing, this homeowner will no longer find their basement to be constantly damp. The WaterGuard piping will keep the leaking water from reaching the surface of the floor in the future!
Bremen, ME Crawlspace Died & Protected with SaniDry Installation
Living in Bremen, ME, this homeowner had recently noticed a mold problem developing in the joists of their crawlspace after investigating a musty smell coming from below their home. Not sure how to deal with this problem on their own, the homeowner looked online for a solution, discovering TC Hafford Basement Systems in the process. They called our office in Wells, ME and we set them up with an appointment for a free estimate. After hearing what we could do to eliminate their moisture problem, the homeowner gave us the go ahead to begin work on the solution. When our installation crew began work on the crawlspace, their first goal was to provide a proper vapor barrier to keep out future leaks. This started with a Drainage Matting being laid across the floor of the space. This mat sits just off the surface and creates pathways for any blocked water to follow, to prevent pooling and enable easy draining. Next, a CleanSpace Liner was used to encapsulate the crawlspace. Completing the vapor barrier, this liner covers the walls and floor of the space with a water-tight seal, preventing any more outside moisture from entering the crawlspace from outside the home. To eliminate the existing moisture problem within the crawlspace, a SaniDry CX dehumidifier was installed. Nearby, a SmartDrain system was installed in the floor of the crawlspace, with the SaniDry connected via piping. Now the SaniDry will remove the moisture from the air of the crawlspace while passing any collected water directly to the drain to escape the home without needing to wait for the water to drain back through the ground. The water then flows away from the home through a PVC discharge line. With these improvements made to their crawlspace, this homeowner will soon notice their mold problem dissipate along with any musty smells that come with it. The SaniDry & CleanSpace integration will keep this crawlspace healthy and dry for years to come!
A More Energy Efficient Home in Bremen, ME
A previous Basement Systems customer recently purchased this Bremen, ME, home, and once they moved in and saw their basement, they knew they wanted to protect their home, so they called TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate. Dr. Energy Saver System Design Specialist Nima Farshid met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a system that would waterproof the basement and create a more energy-efficient space while they were at it. Step One: Waterproofing The homeowner wanted the basement to be dry all of the time, so they did not want to cut any corners. WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the basement to collect and channel water. In high-traffic areas such as entrances and the oil tank, TrenchDrain was installed and connected to the WaterGuard. The water has to go somewhere, so the homeowner chose a SuperSump for the job. The SuperSump takes the water and pumps it through an Exterior Buried Discharge line, which gets the water far away from the home. To prevent ice buildup and keep the system running at 100% during the winter months, IceGuard was installed on the Discharge line. CleanSpace Wall System was installed along the walls and attached to the WaterGuard. CleanSpace Wall System acts as a vapor barrier and channels any moisture coming in from the cinderblock wall to the WaterGuard. Finishing out the waterproofing system was the installation of a SaniDry XP Dehumidifier to keep the humidity in the basement at a safe level. The Sani Dry XP drains directly to the SuperSump, so the homeowner never has to worry about emptying a bucket of water, and their basement will always be protected against high moisture. Step Two: Creating a More Energy-Efficient Space It’s no secret that heating and cooling a home can be expensive. Wanting to save money on their energy bill and create a more comfortable home, the homeowner opted for SprayFoam insulation. Closed-cell SprayFoam was installed along the basement walls to trap in heat during the winter and prevent the homeowner from having to constantly adjust their thermostat throughout the day. Now the homeowner not only has a more comfortable home, but their new home is protected against water and moisture. Mold will be prevented from growing, keeping their family healthy, and their basement is set up to be used however the homeowner would like, without the risk of their belongings being damaged.
Smelly Crawlspace In Monhegan, ME Receives Proper Moisture Barrier
A homeowner in Monhegan was living with an unpleasant smell coming from his crawlspace for years. This problem started because of an improperly built moisture barrier. The homeowner needed a way to fix this without digging up the area surrounding his crawlspace, so he got online and looked around. He soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and gave us a call. We sent a representative to the home to look at the crawlspace and give a free estimate. The homeowner decided on which solution they wanted, and our crew got to work! To start, we laid a Drainage Matting around the interior perimeter of the crawlspace. This prevents the water coming in from finding its way to the center of the crawlspace where it can cause damage or start to smell. Next, we covered the crawlspace walls and floor with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner holds back any moisture trying to enter the crawlspace through the walls or floor. Finally, we installed a SaniDry CX Dehumidifier. This will maintain a completely dry atmosphere within the crawlspace, even if a small amount of moisture were to make it into the air. Now, with a dry crawlspace, this homeowner no longer has a smell bothering him!
Monhegan, ME Crawlspace Dried with SaniDry Sedona Installation
Experiencing symptoms of a wet crawlspace, this homeowner needed a way to keep the water at bay. After hearing about TC Hafford Basement Systems from an acquaintance, they called us to receive their free estimate. The homeowner soon had a meeting with our sales representative where they were given a detailed explanation of the process we would use to waterproof the space below their home. The homeowner gave us the green light and our crew was able to begin work on the crawlspace. Upon starting work in the crawlspace, our crew first installed a proper vapor barrier to keep most of the moisture from entering the space to begin with. This barrier was composed of a Drainage Matting to allow the water to easily flow back out of the crawlspace as well as a CleanSpace liner to lock the moisture on the exterior of the new barrier. Atop this liner, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed. This device will pull in the damp air still within the crawlspace and separate any moisture from it. The now-dry air is circulated back throughout the crawlspace while the collected water is forced out of the home through a pump. With these additions to their crawlspace, this homeowner will no longer suffer from the musty smells and damp atmosphere caused by their crawlspace. The SaniDry Sedona will ensure the air in below this home remains dry and healthy for the future!

A homeowner in Jefferson was experiencing trouble with their basement getting wet; even though they had a sump system installed. They were planning on finishing their basement, but wanted this water problem dealt with before hand. After a quick online search, they came to TC Hafford to get the job done. We started the fix by digging up the interior perimeter of their basement. This enabled us to install our WaterGuard system to capture the water as it comes through the walls or floors. Years of Water Basement Water Issues Gone
After years of flooding issues in their basement and water reaching as high as three inches, this Jefferson, ME, homeowner was tired of the issues. Mold could be found on items, which caused the basement to be unusable. Looking to regain control of their basement and use it for storage, the homeowner booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Kathryn Dolan met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a basement waterproofing system that would keep the basement dry all the time.   The homeowner needed protection through the whole basement, so WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter to catch and channel water. WaterGuard is installed under the slab to catch ground water and any water that may seep in from the foundation. TrenchDrain was installed in high-traffic areas and doorways to catch any water that may find its way in when coming in from outside. TrenchDrain connects to the WaterGuard where the water is channeled to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe is capable of taking the water and pumping it out of the home through a Buried Discharge Line. The Discharge line takes the water far away from the house, and to prevent ice buildup during the cold Maine winters, IceGuard was installed. This keeps the waterproofing system functioning year-round, ensuring the basement is always dry. Finally, CleanSpace Wall System was installed where necessary and tied into the WaterGuard. Now the homeowner is free to use their basement as they originally intended, and water and mold are a thing of the past.
