Crawlspace In Liberty, ME Waterproofed With A Drainage Mat
A homeowner in Liberty had a crawlspace with a dirt floor. Moisture was entering through this floor easily, and the homeowner wanted to stop this from happening. They soon got into contact with TC Hafford Basement Systems to get their problem solved. We had a representative take a look at the crawlspace; then we got to work! To solve the issue with water easily entering through the dirt floor, we poured a concrete slab to form a new floor for the crawlspace. This won’t guarantee a perfectly dry crawlspace, but it is much better than dirt. On top of this concrete slab, we laid down a Drainage Matting. This will stop moisture that enters through the floor or wall from making its way to the center of the crawlspace. Giving it time to drain back out. Now this homeowner no longer has a dirt floor or a wet crawlspace!
SmartJack Supports Help Liberty, ME Homeowner Expand Their Crawlspace
When this Liberty, ME homeowner wanted to increase the height of the crawlspace below their home, they knew they would need new supports where the ground was. After finding a way to remove the dirt covering roughly half the crawlspace, the homeowner searched online for a way to support their home. Once they came across our TC Hafford Basement Systems website, they called us right away to receive their free estimate on the job. After hearing what we could do for them, the homeowner hired us to help finish this project they had in mind. Our installation crew arrived at the home and began work on this crawlspace by placing down the solid concrete footings that the new supports will rest on. These footings sit on a layer of engineered fill to avoid setting them on potentially unstable ground. Nest, the SmartJack beams are installed and adjusted to fit against the joists of the crawlspace, creating supports capable of maintaining the desired height the homeowner wants for their crawlspace. These beams can also be adjusted in the future, should the home begin to settle in unevenly. Now that the project this homeowner set out to accomplish has been completed, their crawlspace is much more accessible. These new SmartJack piers will keep this home supported for many years into the future.
FlexiSpan Seal Keeps Union, ME Basement Water-Free
A homeowner that lived in Union, ME had been living with a slight moisture problem in their basement. Three cracks across the walls in their basement were allowing water from outside to easily leak in. Looking to have these cracks dealt with properly, the homeowner was soon referred to us at TC Hafford Basement Systems. After they received their free estimate, they decided to have us get the job done for them! To keep these cracks from leaking water in the future, our installation crew utilized FlexiSpan to seal them for good. This began with the cracks being brushed clear by a coarse brush to help the sealant hold better. An initial layer of sealant was then applied to the cracks. To give the seals some flexibility and structure, foam mats were then placed over the sealant along the length of the cracks. Finally, another layer of sealant was applied over the top of the foam to complete the FlexiSpan seals. These FlexiSpan seals will keep water out even if the cracks contort over time. This homeowner now can rest assured these cracks are no longer a source of a moisture problem beneath their home. Now that they've been properly sealed they should never leak again!
Crawl Space Transformation in Appleton, Maine
A homeowner in Appleton, Maine, reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems with concerns about their crawl space. The area had shown signs of instability and moisture, which prompted the need for a professional evaluation. Our team quickly responded, conducting a thorough assessment to identify the best course of action. Upon inspection, we recommended three key solutions. First, we proposed the SmartJack system to stabilize the crawl space and ensure long-term structural support. The adjustable steel posts would not only reinforce the floor above but also address the unevenness that was affecting the home’s overall foundation.   Second, we suggested installing the CleanSpace liner system, which is designed to keep moisture and humidity out of the crawl space. This durable liner acts as a vapor barrier, preventing water from seeping in and keeping the space dry and mold-free, which is essential for maintaining the health of the home. Finally, we recommended the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, an energy-efficient solution that would help control the moisture levels in the air. By reducing humidity, the SaniDry Sedona would ensure a dry, healthy crawl space, free from mold and mildew.     After completing the installation, the homeowner was very satisfied with the results. The crawl space was now dry, structurally sound, and fully protected against future moisture issues.
Two Cracks In Thomaston, ME, Basement Sealed With FlexiSpan
A homeowner in Thomaston was noticing water collecting on their basement floor. This water was obviously entering through two rather thin cracks that spanned the length of his basement walls. These cracks needed to be addressed, and the homeowner got online to find a solution. After finding TC Hafford Basement Systems, the homeowner gave us a call to receive a free estimate. We had a representative head out to take a look. The course of action we agreed upon with the homeowner was FlexiSpan, which could permanently seal the cracks. We started this process by filling the two cracks with a sealant. This first layer of sealant acts as a primary guard for keeping out water. Then a layer of foam padding is placed over the two cracks, to hold the first layer in place. This foam also acts as structural support for the repair. Finally a second layer of sealant is added on top of the foam to hold it all in place. The way this FlexiSpan works is that it locks out water, but is still flexible enough to shift, should the walls move under ny circumstance. Now this homeowner no longer needs to worry about water coming in through these two cracks!

The pump will force the water out of the home through a discharge line to eliminate this homeowners moisture problem. The SaniDry will circulate the dried air back into the space, continuing the process until the moisture in the air is brought down to regular levels. WaterGuard Installation Protects Thomaston, ME Basement from Flooding
When this homeowner moved into their Thomaston, ME home, they soon noticed water would leak into their basement. Unsure how to keep the water from leaking through their concrete foundation, the homeowner needed a solution, fast. After a quick search online, they soon discovered TC Hafford Basement Systems and called knew we would be able to help. They called our office staff and we set them up with a free estimate. The homeowner soon had a meeting with one of our sales representatives and they were able to decide on what work they wanted done to waterproof their home. Once our installation crew arrived at the home, their first task was to excavate a shallow trench into the perimeter of the concrete basement floor. This enabled them to then lay down WaterGuard piping beneath the surface of the floor, surrounding the basement. After being buried by loose rocks and a fresh coat of concrete, the WaterGuard pipes will now capture any moisture leaking in through the tiny pores and cracks of the foundation. After trapping the water through small slits along the bottom edge of each pipe, the water is guided through the floor to the sump where it will be removed from the home. Within the sump, a SuperSump pump was installed. The SuperSump will take in the water collected by the WaterGuard and force it out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The SuperSump can output over 2,600 gallons of water every hour, giving it plenty of power to handle any rainwater needing to be removed from this home. Outside, two additional pieces of piping were attached to the discharge line to better protect the home from flooding. An IceGuard piece was attached just beyond where the line leaves the side of the home while a LawnScape piece was used to cap the end of the discharge line. The IceGuard is built with special upward facing holes that allow water potentially blocked by ice or debris to escape without backing up into the basement. The LawnScape covers the end of the line with a grate to keep out larger debris while allowing the water to flow out onto the ground. These new installations will work together to ensure this homeowner no longer experiences a flooding basement. The WaterGuard piping & SuperSump combo will fight off any major rainfall that would have otherwise been a problem!
Basement Waterproofing in Thomaston, ME
A homeowner in Thomaston, Maine, contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems with concerns about their foundation shifting and water consistently entering their basement. One corner of their foundation had started to bow, which led to the basement windows shifting out of alignment. Water had also begun to seep in, even when it wasn’t raining. Our team performed a thorough assessment and identified the need for multiple solutions.     We installed a WaterGuard system to intercept water at the perimeter of the foundation, and a trench drain was added to channel water directly to the SuperSump Plus, a high-performance pump designed to keep basements dry. The CleanSpace wall system was applied to create a vapor barrier, preventing moisture from coming through the walls. IceGuard was used to ensure that water could still flow out through the sump discharge, even in freezing temperatures. To further protect their home, Dr. Energy Saver spray foam insulation was applied. With the installation of these systems, the basement was transformed into a dry, secure space, and the homeowner felt assured that their foundation was solid and protected.
Crawlspace In South Thomaston, ME, Waterproofed With CleanSpace
A homeowner in South Thomaston was noticing the window in their crawlspace was allowing water to leak in. This was an older window, and had clearly seen some better years. The homeowner needed this leaky window fixed, and they also would prefer if their crawlspace was completely water-tight. After a quick internet search, they came across TC Hafford Basement Systems; the clear choice for this job. Shortly after we received the phone call, we had a representative out at the house to determine the best solution. After going over the options with the homeowner, we sent in a crew to get to work! To start the project, the window in the crawlspace was removed. Both it and another old window were taken out to be replaced. Then the crew installed two EverLast windows where the old windows were. EverLast windows are bright, and form a completely waterproof seal inside their frame. Protecting the crawlspace from the problem which faced the previous set of windows. South Thomaston, ME Basement Kept Dry with WaterGuard Installation
Living in South Thomaston, ME, a homeowner had recently begun to have water build up in their basement during rainfall. With a concrete foundation around their basement, not only was this homeowner unsure how the water was getting in, but they were also unsure how to stop the leakage. When asking around about solutions, they were soon referred to call us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to receive a free estimate on repairs. After receiving their estimate, the homeowner gave us the go-ahead to get started on the solution. When our installation crew arrived at the property, to intercept the water before it reaches the surface of the floor, they began by excavating the perimeter of the concrete floor. This created a shallow trench around the outer edge of the floor. Here, WaterGuard pipes were laid, surrounding the basement floor. Buried beneath loose rocks and concrete, the WaterGuard pipes will now capture any moisture leaking through the floor using small slits along the lower edges of the pipes. The water trapped within the WaterGuard is then guided trough the floor directly to the sump to be removed from the home. Within the sump, a SuperSump pump was installed. With the WaterGuard feeding directly into the new pump, the water can be removed from the home without ever reaching the interior of the basement in the future. The SuperSump forces the water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line at a rate of over 2,600 gallons per hour. Nearby, an UltraSump backup battery was attached to the SuperSump. This device will power the SuperSump during power-outages; maintaining a dry basement even during harsh storms. The UltraSump will allow the SuperSump to operate for up to 11,000 gallons of water before requiring a charge. Now that this homeowner has proper basement waterproofing beneath their home, they should no longer experience a flooding basement. The WaterGuard & SuperSump pump will work together to ensure that!
