Leaking Basement In Norridgewock, ME Sealed
A couple in Norridgewock was having issues with water entering their basement through their foundation walls; Especially through a large crack on one of the walls. Needing professional help, the homeowners called TC Hafford Basement Systems, immediately after seeing us on their television. We had a representative at the home in no time to inspect the basement and give the homeowners a free estimate. They made their decision and our crew got to work! We began by digging a trench around the interior perimeter of their basement floor. This allowed us to lay down our WaterGuard piping system, lining the basement floor. It was then covered in rocks and cement to conceal it without stopping it from functioning. The WaterGuard will take in all the water trying to enter through the walls or floor, guiding it then out of the basement through the sump. We then got to work sealing the crack. To help with the sealing process, we put down a layer of sealant over the top of the crack, with plugs spread out along the sealant. An injection of Polyurethane was then shot into each of these plugs. Filling the crack, and solidifying. Completely sealing out any moisture that would have previously entered. With these in place, the homeowners will no longer experience any trouble with water in their basement!
WaterGuard Piping Saves Norridgewock, ME Basement from Flooding
A homeowner that lived in Norridgewock, ME had a problem. Their concrete foundation was leaking water into their basement during rainfall. Worried about water damage, the homeowner asked around about what could be done to help. They were soon referred to us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and called to set up their free estimate. After their estimate, they gave us the go-ahead to get start on this basement waterproofing! Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started on the project by excavating a trench into the perimeter of the basement floor. Within this trench, a WaterGuard piping system was installed. Buried below a fresh coat of concrete, these pipes capture leaking moisture through small slits on the bottom edge of each pipe. This trapped water is guided to the sump where a SuperSump pump was installed. The SuperSump then pumps any collected water out of the home through a PVC discharge line. This water then flows across the lawn and drains back into the ground some distance from the home. Now any rainwater will be swept away through the WaterGuard before it ever reaches the surface of this basement. This homeowner can rest assured their belonging will remain undamaged in the future.
ThermalDry Flooring Nearly Completes Finished Basement in Norridgewock, ME
Looking to have their basement finished, this Norridgewock, ME homeowner needed a way to better insulate against the cold concrete floor. After speaking with some family friends, they were soon referred to TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us to see if we could help. Our office staff quickly set them up with a free estimate. After our sales representative looked over the space and gave the homeowner the details on what we could do for them, the homeowner soon gave us the go-ahead to begin work on the basement. Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started on better insulating the floor of this basement right away. To achieve this, ThermalDry tiles were used to cover the basement floor. The homeowner selected to have the beige colored tiles installed. These tiles have a hard-plastic surface with a relatively thick layer of foam padding underneath. Once tiled across the surface of the floor, they will provide a much softer surface to walk on as well as insulating against the cold surface of the floor. The underside of these tiles have channels which will allow any moisture trapped beneath to flow to the sump for removal from the basement. Now that this homeowner has proper flooring for a finished basement, all they need is furniture to complete the space. The ThermalDry flooring will provide an insulated and soft floor for this homeowner to enjoy for the future!
Caving Basement Wall In Smithfield, ME Fortified With PowerBrace
A couple in Smithfield had a problem in their basement. One of the walls looked like it was about to cave in! Over the years, the pressure from the surrounding soil had forced the wall inward, to the point where it was visibly bowing. Requiring a solution to this problem, the homeowners searched online and found TC Hafford Basement Systems. We had our representative look at the basement, and offer a free estimate. After the homeowners made their decision, our crew got to work! In order to put the wall back to its original position, we needed to use PowerBrace technology. To install the PowerBraces, we secured steel I-beams to the wall by anchoring the bottom to the concrete floor. The tops of the beams are secured to the wooden joists in the ceiling of the basement. These are held with special, adjustable screws, allowing for the PowerBrace to be tightened at a later date once the wall has begun to move back into place. With the PowerBraces in place, not only will this wall no longer be in danger of collapse, but the wall will eventually return to near new condition!
Flooding Basement In Damariscotta, ME Protected From Damage With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Damariscotta owned a home with a leaky basement. This basement would take on water during any amount of rain. The homeowner needed a way to stop this before any damage occured within the basement. They soon got online and after a quick Google search, found TC Hafford Basement Systems. We set them up with a free estimate, and after they gave us the go ahead, we got to work! The interior perimeter of the basement floor was excavated to begin the project. This newly dug trench allowed us to emplace our WaterGuard system within the floor. The WaterGuard was then covered over with loose rocks and cement to conceal it without preventing its function. Made of specially designed pipes, this system will capture water as it tries to find its way into the interior of the space. The collected water is brought along through the WaterGuard to the sump. In the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump to take all of the water and evacuate it from the basement through a PVC discharge line. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we connected an IceGuard to the discharge line. This will allow water to continue to flow from the pump even when the lower end of the pipe is blocked by debris of any kind. Now this homeowner can be proud to have a properly waterproofed basement!
Leaking Dirt Basement In North Anson, ME Sealed With CleanSpace

We investigated the basement, gave them their free estimate, and then got to work! To begin, we removed a portion of the dirt floor that was uneven, and graded the floor smooth. We then dug out a sump within the basement to install our SuperSump sump pump. This pump can remove 2,650 gallons of water per hour from the space, forcing it all out through a PVC discharge line. The basement was then encapsulated with a CleanSpace Liner. This thin plastic sheet covers every surface around the basement, except for the ceiling. No more moisture will be able to enter the interior of this basement; It will all be flushed away through the sump. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard piece to the discharge line. The IceGuard is a special open pipe that will allow water to escape should the lower end of the pipe become blocked and begin to back-up. With these additions to the basement, this homeowners mold problem will be a thing of the past! Without the moisture in the air to live off of, the mold will die and disappear.

The third pump is a battery-operated pump which will activate when the home loses power. This will ensure the basement remains dry even during storms harsh enough the knock out the power.
