At this Bingham, ME, home, water intrusion has led to a damaged freezer and heating unit. Ready to solve the problem and protect their home and belongings from further damage, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems to schedule a free estimate.
System Design Specialist Adam Hamm met with the homeowner to discuss their concerns and design a system that would surpass their expectations and protect the health of the home. Water was coming up through a floor drain, leading to as much as three feet of standing water. To ensure that water would not flood the basement, a TripleSafe Sump Pump was installed and connected to an exterior buried discharge line with IceGuard. IceGuard prevents ice buildup during the cold season, keeping the system running all year round.
The homeowner is now protected against water intrusion and can relax, knowing they won’t have to replace expensive appliances again because of flooding.
This Waterville, ME, homeowner has had a consistent leak in their basement since moving in, which has led to their basement floor being damaged. Wanting to finish their basement without their hard work and money going down the drain, the homeowner booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Ken Castillo worked with the homeowner to design a waterproofing system specifically for their needs.
WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the basement where needed to catch and channel water to the new SuperSump Plus. The SuperSump Plus features a battery back up system and the larger TripleSafe Sump Liner for the easy addition of a second Zoeller sump pump if needed in the future to offer the homeowner three levels of protection. An External Buried Discharge line is installed and connected to the SuperSump Plus to drain the water from the basement out of the home and far away, where it will no longer be a problem. To prevent the system from ice buildup and keep the system running during every season, IceGuard was installed on the Discharge line. The homeowner is now able to refinish their basement floor without the risk of it being damaged by water, and they can finally use the space as it was intended.
This Corinna, ME homeowner had a crawlspace below their home without any form of moisture protection. This led to them experiencing a musty smell coming from the space as the dampness worsened over time. Wanting something done about this, the homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, and we got right to work! To begin the process of properly waterproofing the space below this home, the dirt floor of the crawlspace was graded until it was flat. Next, to provide a moisture barrier a Drainage matting was laid across the floor and a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the interior of the crawlspace. This formed a water-tight seal to prevent future moisture from leaking into and persisting within the crawlspace. A TripleSafe sump pump was then installed in the floor of the space. This pump will remove any moisture collected beneath the home and force it out of the home through a discharge line fitted with an IceGuard protective pipe. This pipe then terminates through a LawnScape port where the water can harmlessly drain back into the ground a distance from the home.
With their now-waterproof crawlspace, this homeowner should no longer suffer from a musty smell in their home caused by excess moisture. Any water gathering below the home will be swiftly pumped outside where it will stay!
After moving into their new home, this homeowner was looking to do some renovations. Before they got started, however, they wanted to ensure the crawlspace below their home would remain moisture-free in the future to protect the renovations. They called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and after receiving their free estimate, they hired us to get started on a vapor barrier installation. Our crew began work on the crawlspace by leveling the floor using crushed stone. Once level, a Drainage Matting was laid across the floor of the space and a CleanSpace liner was utilized to encapsulate the interior of the crawlspace. Between the CleanSpace and the dirt floor, the Drainage Matting rests just above the ground and creates channels for which any blocked moisture can flow through to drain back into the ground below. The CleanSpace liner itself forms a barrier to completely lock out outside moisture, preventing future accumulation on the interior of this crawlspace floor. Finally, a SmartSump pump was installed in the floor of the crawlspace, to intake any blocked water and force it out of the home through a discharge line.
With a proper vapor barrier protecting their crawlspace, this homeowner is now confident they can move forward with their home renovations without fearing future moisture damage. The CleanSpace vapor barrier will maintain a dry crawlspace below this home for years to come!
System Design Specialist Mark S. met with a Hampden, ME homeowner to give a free estimate on repairing their leaking basement. Their slab was cracking and water was seeping in, causing headaches for the homeowner. We poured a new slab, along with slab WaterGuard to help channel any water or moisture to the new TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe features two Zoeller sumps and a battery-powered backup. The TripleSafe drains water out of the basement and through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that is protected against ice buildup in the winter with IceGuard. CleanSpace Wall System was installed to act as a vapor barrier where needed and channel any additional moisture from the walls to the WaterGuard. CleanSpace walls are durable, easy to clean, and never discolor, giving this basement a bright, fresh look!
