WaterGuard Installation Keeps Machias, ME Basement Completely Water-Free
A couple living in Machias, ME had been living with a damp basement for some time. Tired of needing to manually remove the water from their basement, the homeowners needed a permenant solution. They were soon referred to get a free estimate from us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and called is right away. After their free estimate, they decided they wanted us to get the job done for them and we got to work! As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the basement by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the concrete floor. Here, WaterGuard piping was laid, surrounding the basement floor. These pipes, buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, these pipes will capture any leaking moisture in the future and guided the water to the sump to be removed. Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump pump to remove the water from the home. This pump can output water at a rate of 2,650 gallons per hour. Plenty of power to keep this basement free of water. The water exits the home through a PVC discharge line. Outside the home, an IceGuard pipe section was attached to the line, to protect the basement against ice blockages. Any trapped water will be able to escape through special holes in the sides of the IceGuard. Finally, a LawnScape discharge port was used to cap the end of the line. This piece forms a grate on the end of the line to allow the water to flow out onto the lawn, while preventing debris from entering the line. With these improvements to their basement, these homeowners will no longer need to remove water from their basement manually. Their WaterGuard piping and SuperSump pump will ensure their basement remains dry!
Machias, ME Basement Protected Against Leakage with TripleSafe Upgrade
Having a basement that would regularly flood whenever the drain in the floor would backup, this Machias, ME homeowner was in desperate need of basement waterproofing. After they saw an ad on their TV for TC Hafford Basement Systems, they gave us a call and spoke with our office staff about setting up their free estimate. The homeowner soon met with one of our sales representatives to discuss their options for waterproofing. Once the homeowner made their decision, we got started on solving their wet basement problem. Upon arriving at the home, our crew got to work by first expanding the existing drain to enable the installation of a sump system. Next, a TripleSafe sump pump was installed. The TripleSafe contains three pump that act to maintain a dry basement floor. The primary and secondary pumps both work to remove the bulk of the water needing removal from the basement. The secondary pump will only activate if the primary pump fails or needs assistance with the level of water. Finally, the third pump is a battery-operated backup pump for when the home loses power. This will ensure the basement floor remains water-free even during harsh storms. The water removed by the TripleSafe system travels through a PVC discharge line up and out of the home where it passes through two additional waterproofing features. The first being an IceGuard pipe segment attached just beyond where the discharge line leaves the home. The IceGuard has built-in holes that face up, only allowing for water traveling back up the pipe to escape. This will prevent ice blockages or other debris in the line from causing flooding in the home. Lastly, the water exits through a LawnScape discharge port, that covers the end of the line with a grate. The grate will keep debris from entering the end of the line while continuing to let the water drain freely. The water is deposited onto the ground far enough from the home to not cause further trouble for the homeowner. With their new sump system in place, this homeowner can now make use of their basement how they wanted to without the need to fear water damage. The TripleSafe system will keep water from pooling up all across this basement in the future!
Gutter Shuter Solutions in Marshfield, Maine
A homeowner in Marshfield, Maine, contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems after dealing with constant issues from overflowing gutters. The heavy rains in the area were causing water to spill over the gutters, potentially damaging their foundation and landscaping. After assessing the situation, we recommended the installation of our Gutter Shutter system. The Gutter Shutter system is designed to handle heavy rainfall without clogging, thanks to its large capacity and clog-resistant design. This eliminates the need for constant maintenance, like cleaning out leaves and debris, which had been a frequent headache for the homeowner. With its seamless structure and durability, the Gutter Shutter system ensures that water is directed away from the home efficiently, protecting both the foundation and the yard from potential water damage.   Once the installation was complete, the homeowner was very satisfied with how the system transformed their gutter performance. They no longer had to worry about climbing ladders to clear debris or dealing with rainwater spilling over the sides during storms.
A Complete Encapsulation System
Every time heavy rain comes through, this Machiasport, ME basement fills with a couple of inches of water, causing severe moisture issues for the homeowner. It’s important to take care of issues like this quickly to prevent damage that can ruin the health of the home and create an unsafe space to live in. The homeowner scheduled a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems and worked with System Design Specialist Craig Ziegenbein to design an encapsulation system that would help the homeowner protect their home's health.   CleanSpace with Drainage Matting is laid on the ground to create a channel for water and an inorganic barrier between the CleanSpace and the outside elements. The CleanSpace Wall System was installed to create a full encapsulation system to keep moisture out of the space. The water has to go somewhere, so a SmartSump Sump Pump was installed to pump water through the new Exterior Buried Discharge Line. To keep the system running all year, even during the winter, IceGuard was installed on the Discharge Line to prevent ice from building up. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona was installed and connected to a condensate pump that drains to the SmartSump. Now, humidity will stay at a safe level, and the homeowner will never have to worry about emptying a bucket of water. The space is fully encapsulated, and the home’s health is protected.
WaterGuard Systems Protects Princeton, ME Basement from Frequent Moisture
Living with a basement that would regularly take on water during rainfall or melting snow, this Princeton, ME homeowner needed a little help. Having worked with us before, the homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to find out how we could solve this problem for them. We set them up with a free estimate where our sales representative would go over the homeowner’s options with them. They soon gave us the green light to get started on waterproofing their basement! As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started on the basement floor by excavating space for our WaterGuard system. This involved removing enough of the floor to create a shallow trench around the perimeter of the basement. It was within this trench that the WaterGuard piping was laid and covered by a fresh layer of concrete to seal it within the floor. Now any water traveling through the concrete foundation will become trapped by small slits in the sides of the WaterGuard. This water then travels through the piping to the sump for removal without ever reaching the surface of the floor. To handle the water removal, a TripleSafe sump system was installed in the basement floor, with the WaterGuard feeding in directly. The TripleSafe houses three pumps, each serving a separate function. The primary pump handles the bulk of the water removal, with the secondary pump only activating as a backup for the primary in the event that it becomes overwhelmed. The third and final pump, operating on a battery, will turn on to remove water during any power outages that might occur. This will ensure the basement remains water-free during any weather! The water being removed flows from the home through a PVC discharge line. Now that they have a proper waterproofing system below their home, this homeowner can expect to find a dry basement floor instead of constantly damp one when they go downstairs. The WaterGuard & TripleSafe systems will maintain a dry basement floor for years to come!
Meddybemps, ME Basement Kept Water Free With TripleSafe
Pete from Meddybemps had a sump pump that would regularly back-up and flood the basement. This was a serious problem for Pete because the pump was supposed to be what kept it free of water. The issue got so bad, water damage was starting to become a real threat. Needing a remedy fast, he got online and searched for possible repairs. This is where he found TC Hafford Basement Systems, who he promptly called to receive his free estimate. We then got started on the basement! To begin, we removed the old sump pump. It was no longer functioning properly, and was disposed of. We then installed a TripleSafe sump pump. This is a three tier pump system that will keep operating under the harshest conditions. The TripleSafe is composed of three pumps. Primarily, the first pump handles most of the water and operates under normal circumstances. The second pump is there for when the primary pump either malfunctions, or cannot handle the amount of water alone. The third and final pump is a batter powered backup pump for when the power it out. These three pumps will maintain a dry basement, forcing collected water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard piece to the discharge line. The IceGuard will allow for water to flow should the lower end of the pipe become blocked by ice or other debris. Now that Pete has a functioning sump pump, he can rest assured he no longer needs to worry about water damage.

Baileyville, ME Basement Protected With FlexiSpan
A homeowner in Baileyville was having trouble with a crack in their basement. This crack was growing and allowing for water to enter during heavy rain. Needing this problem fixed, the homeowner got online to find a solution. This is where they found TC Hafford Basement Systems. After receiving the call, we had a representative head over to the home to give a free estimate. The homeowner soon decided on what they wanted done to solve the problem, and we got to work! We started with a Polyurethane Injection. This injection lifts part of the concrete foundation back up into place, to help realign the basement to where it originally rested. Then we got busy fixing the crack. We first filled the crack with a sealant, this will help hold back water trying to enter the basement. This sealant is then covered with a foam matting to further the fortification against moisiture. Finally, a second layer of sealant is laid over the foam to completely lock out any water from the outside. Now a wet basement is not something this homeowner needs to be concerned about.
Baileyville, ME Basement Kept Water-Free with WaterGuard Installation
A homeowner living in Baileyville, ME was having trouble keeping their basement dry. Even with a sump in their basement floor, they still regularly needed to remove the water almost by themselves by sweeping water toward the drain. Looking for a better solution to this problem, the homeowner searched online and soon found our TC Hafford Basement Systems website. They called us to receive their free estimate and gave us the go-ahead to start work on their basement soon after. When our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the basement by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the concrete floor. This enabled them to lay WaterGuard piping down around the basement. Buried below a layer of loose rocks and concrete, the WaterGuad pipes inside the floor will capture any leaking moisture in the future through small slits along the bottom of the pipes. This trapped water is then guided through the floor directly to the sump to be removed from the home. Inside the existing sump, we installed a TripleSafe pump unit. The TripleSafe houses three pumps within itself, each able to force the collected water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The first and secondary pumps inside the TripleSafe will handle the bulk of the water-removal with the secondary only activating when the primary pumps requires extra power. Lastly, the third pump is a battery-operated pump that will switch on when the home loses power to keep the basement dry even in the harshest weather. Outside the home, two additions were made to the discharge line before we were finished on this home. The first addition was an IceGuard pipe segment attached just beyond where the line leaves the home. This section of pipe has special built-in holes that only allow trapped water to escape. This means if ice or debris blocks the line, the backing up water will be able to flow through the holes without reaching back into the home to cause flooding. Finally, a LawnScape port was attached to the end of the line. Here, the water will flow out of the grate of the LawnScape onto the lawn to drain away. This grate will also prevent most debris from entering the line to cause blockages. With these waterproofing devices installed, this homeowners basement will now keep itself dry for years to come.
SaniDry Dehumidifier Keeps Musty Baileyville, ME Basement Dry
This homeowner living in Baileyville, ME had been living with a moisture problem below their home for a while. The basement would always have a musty smell to it, due to moisture in the air. Looking to have something done about this moisture, the homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems after seeing one of our ads on their TV. Our sales representative took a look at the space and gave the homeowner their free estimate on how we could solve the problem for them. They gave us the green-light right away and we got started! When our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started by installing a Condensate Pump on the basement floor. Connected to this pump, a SaniDry XP dehumidifier was also installed on the basement floor. The SaniDry will pull in the surrounding air, separating any moisture from it in the process. The now-dry air is circulated back into the basement to continue cycling more air back towards the dehumidifier, until the basement has been rid of excess moisture in the air. The water collected by the SaniDry is passed to the connected Condensate Pump where it is forced out of the home through a discharge line. The water will follow this line a safe distance from the home before being discharge onto the ground. Now this homeowner will no longer need to suffer from musty, damp air when visiting their own basement. The SaniDry XP dehumidifier will make sure this basement air remains dry and healthy for years to come!
