West Enfield, ME, Basement Waterproofed With SuperSump
A homeowner in West Enfield was having water gather in their basement. This was an issue that needed to be resolved as soon as possible. They had a sump system, but it wasn’t getting the water pushed out of the basement like it was supposed to. After finding TC Hafford on the internet, they contacted us to get the job done. We had a crew get to work by removing the old sump pump and installing a SuperSump sump pump. This sump will do a much better job removing the water from the basement, keeping it dry. The crew then attached an UltraSump backup battery to the SuperSump. This battery will allow the SuperSump to continue to pump water should the power go out. Maintaining a dry basement in the worst of storms.
Proper Vapor Barrier Installation Prevents Mold Problem in West Enfield, ME Crawlspace
A property owner in West Enfield, ME needed some waterproofing done on a crawlspace beneath their building. The West Enfield Church of God was having some moisture build-up in the crawlspace below the building. This was cuasing a musty smell in the building that was attributable to the start of mold growth. Wanting to take care of the problem before it got worse, the property owner contacted us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to solve their moisture problem. Once our installation crew arrived at the property, they began work right away by laying a Drainage Matting across the floor of the crawlspace. This mat sits just above the floor, with many holes throughout it. This is so that water can still flow beneath the mat towards the parts of the floor where the water can most easily drain away back into the ground. Above this, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the crawlspace. This liner covers every surface that water might try to enter through. Completing the vapor barrier, the CleanSpace locks out any future leaks that would have otherwise entered into this crawlspace. Now any mold growth will soon die off without any moisture to survive on. This property owner no longer has a moisture problem to worry about!
Damp Basement In Franklin, ME Protected With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Franklin had a concrete basement, which would commonly become damp when it would rain. This was starting to become an issue, so he looked for a solution in the Yellow Pages. This solution was TC Hafford Basement Systems. After receiving the call, we had a representative head to the home to see what could be done. We went over the potential fixes with the homeowner, then got to work! To start, we excavated the interior perimeter of the basement. This would make way for the WaterGuard piping system. This system captures water as it enters the basement through the floor or walls. Now that the water coming in is isolated, it is directed towards a SmartDrain which will take the water out of the basement. Now this homeowner can use the basement for whatever he pleases without the fear of water damage.
Leaking Basement In Aurora, ME Waterproofed
Bruce from Aurora had two cracks in his basement wall, which would leak water into the basement on a regular basis. Bruce needed this to stop, because the water coming in could lead to water damage; or even worse mold growth. Soon after seeing an ad for TC Hafford Basement Systems on his television, Bruce gave us a call and received his free estimate. We had our crew head over to the home and got to work! We started by digging up a trench around the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This made way for us to lay down a WaterGuard pipe system. This is then covered over with loose rocks and concrete to conceal it within the floor while not hindering functionality. The WaterGuard system captures water as it enters the basement through the walls or floor. Next, we started fixing the cracks with FlexiSpan. We applied the first layer of sealant directly to the cracks, this is the primary barrier against moisture entering the cracks. The sealant is then covered with a foam matting. This gives the FlexiSpan its flexible nature. Finally, a second layer of sealant is added over the foam to hold it all in place, locking any moisture completely outside the crack. Now Bruce can live without fear of water damage in his basement!
SuperSump Installation Protects Aurora, ME Basement from Gathering Water
Having been living with a damp basement for some time, this Aurora, ME homeowner thought it was time they did something about the water below their home. Needing the space for storage and wanting to avoid water damage, the homeowner needed a way to remove the leaking water that typically gathered on their floor of the basement during rainfall. After a quick search online, they discovered TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us to receive their free quote. Our sales representative soon sat down with the homeowner to talk over their options and they gave us the go ahead to begin work on their home. As soon as our crew arrived at the home, their first task was to install a SuperSump pump system in the floor of the basement. This device will take in the water flooding the space, forcing it up and out of the home at a rater of over 2,600 gallons per hour. The water flows away from the home through a PVC discharge line. Outside the home, two additions were attached to this line to improve the waterproofing of the basement. The first was an IceGuard pipe segment added just beyond where the line leaves the home. This piece has upward facing holes built into the sides that allow for water blocked by ice or debris to escape without backing up into the home. Finally, the end of the line received a LawnScape discharge port. The end of this piece is covered by a grate that will release the water onto the ground to harmlessly drain away while keeping out larger debris. With their newly installed sump, this homeowner will no longer suffer from a regularly flooding basement. The SuperSump system along with specialty piping will keep this basement water-free for years to come!
Moist Crawlspace in Millinocket, ME, Encapsulated and Dried
A homeowner in Millinocket was experiencing moisture gathering in their crawlspace. This was immediately an issue, because moisture can lead to mold and rot. This will soon affect the supports of the house, potentially leading to permanent damage. The homeowner took to the internet to find a solution. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and gave us a call. We had a representative inspect the basement, and go over potential fixes with the homeowner. Once the homeowner decided on what they wanted done, we had a crew go in and get to work! To start, we installed a Drainage Matting, which will help keep water out by allowing any built up water pass through and out of the home. We then used a CleanSpace Liner to completely seal the crawlspace. This liner encapsulates the crawlspace, covering every inch. This will lock out any moisture and keep the crawlspace dry. Finally we installed a SmartSump sump pump to further protect the crawlspace from water. This pump will take any water and push it up and out of the home. This homeowner no longer needs to worry about moisture making its way into their crawlspace.
Moist Basement Air In Winter Harbor, ME Dried Out With SaniDry
A homeowner in Winter Harbor had a basement which would take on a significant amount of airborne moisture during rains. This left the basement smelly extremely musty, so much so that it would propagate throughout the home. The homeowner got online to find a solution, and after a quick Google search, they found TC Hafford Basement Systems. Soon after being contacted, we had a representative take a look at the basement to give the free estimate; then we got to work! To prevent moisture buildup in the air, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. This dehumidifier will take in the surrounding moist air, dry it out, and push it out into the basement. This new flow of air will circulate other moist air back towards the SaniDry to be dried, continuing the cycle until the basement air is moisture free. The dry conditions in the basement will eliminate the musty smell throughout the home, and dramatically reduce the chance for mold to grow within the basement. Now these homeowners no longer need to deal with a bad smell, with their dry basement air!
Damp Crawlspace In Prospect Harbor, ME Kept Dry With CleanSpace
A homeowner in Prospect Harbor was worried about how damp their crawlspace was getting. This dampness could easily lead to mold growth, and damage to the property. Seeking a way to keep moisture out of their crawlspace, the homeowner looked online. Here is where they found TC Hafford Basement Systems. The homeowner called us right away and we had our representative give her a free estimate. After she decided on what work she wanted done, our crew got to work! In order to keep out moisture before it reached the interior of the crawlspace, we needed to install a vapor barrier. To do so, we lined the floor/wall joint around the space with a Drainage Matting. This will ideally drain away water trying to find its way to the center of the crawlspace. Next, we encapsulated the space with a CleanSpace Liner. CleanSpace is made of a thin plastic, completely locking out moisture that would have previously entered through the walls or the floor. Finally, we installed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier. The SaniDry will dry out the air within the space, and keep it that way. Without moisture in its environment, mold cannot grow. With this new vapor barrier in place, this homeowner no longer needs to worry about mold or water damage at all!
TripleSafe Upgrade Keeps Prospect Harbor, ME Basement Water-Free
A couple living in Prospect Harbor, ME had noticed the sump in their basement of their new home wasn’t keeping up with the water leaking in. This was causing flooding in their basement, which they needed dealt with right away. After searching online, they soon discovered TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us right away to receive their free estimate. They spoke with our representative and soon hired us to get the job done to better waterproof their home. Upon arriving at the home, our installation began work on the home by installing a TripleSafe sump system in the hole existing in the basement floor already. The TripleSafe, as the name suggests, houses three individual pumps. The first and second pumps act to remove the bulk of the water gathering in the basement, with the secondary only activating if the primary pump is ever overwhelmed. The third pump is operated by a battery and will turn on to remove water during a power-outage. The water flows from the home through a PVC discharge line where it will be released onto the ground a distance from the home. Following this discharge line outside, our crew made two final additions to the line to finish this job. The first being an IceGuard pipe segment attached just beyond where the line exits the side of the home. The IceGuard has built-in holes that are angled upward as to not impede regular water flor. These holes protect the home from blockages like ice, allowing any trapped water to escape through the previously mentioned holes. Finally, a LawnScape discharge port was attached to the end of the line to complete the waterproofing. The end of the LawnScape port is covered by a grate to keep any large debris from entering the end of the line and causing blockages. With these improvements in place, the homeowners can now use the space without the need to worry about water damage. The TripleSafe sump system will keep this basement floor water-free for years to come!
CleanSpace Locks Moisture Out Of Gouldsboro, ME Basement
A homeowner in Gouldsboro had a basement prone to leaks. During heavy rains, water would come in through one corner of his dirt basement and cover the floor. This was a great way to grow a mold problem, or sustain water damage to the home. Needing professional help, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems after hearing about us from a family friend. We had a representative inspect the space, then our crew got to work! This homeowner needed a proper vapor barrier, so we began by lining the inside perimeter of the basement with a Drainage Matting. This will hold back a portion of the moisture entering through the walls and allow it to drain back out through the floor. We then covered the basement in a CleanSpace Liner. This liner covers everything except for the ceiling, holding back any moisture that would otherwise have flooded the basement. Finally, we installed SaniDry XP dehumidifier. The SaniDry will take in the surrounding air, remove any moisture, and push the air our into the far reaches of the basement. This creates a loop where the dry air forces more moist air back towards the SaniDry until all of the air has been dehumidified. Now that TC Hafford Basement Systems have given this basement a proper vapor barrier, this homeowner shouldn’t need to worry about any form of water damage!
