Crawlspace In Kenduskeag, ME, Waterproofed Properly With CleanSpace
Bill from Kenduskeag needed his crawlspace to be water free, but his current sump system was not removing water like it should have been. He soon made the call to TC Hafford Basement Systems to get his crawlspace waterproofed the right way! We had a representative sent out to the home to look at the problem and give a free estimate. Bill decided on what he wanted done, and we got to work! We started by removing the old sump pump, this wasn’t going to be needed. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump. This new pump would be more than capable of removing any water leaking into the crawlspace. Next we encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner completely covers the floor, walls, and supports within the crawlspace. Being sealed against the surfaces it covers, this liner will completely lock out any moisture attempting to find its way into the crawlspace. Finally, on the exterior of the house, where the water from the sump pump travels through a discharge pipe, we concatenated an IceGuard pipe. This piece is uniquely designed to allow for water to continue to flow even if the lower end of the discharge pipe is blocked by ice or other debris. Now this homeowner is happy with his dry crawlspace.
Sebec, ME Basement Wall Reinforced With PowerBrace
A homeowner in Sebec noticed he had a basement wall that was leaning inward. The cinder blocks that composed the wall were starting to bend inward under the pressure of the surrounding soil. Having been asking around for ways to fix this wall, the homeowner soon heard about TC Hafford Basement Systems. He called us right away and we had our representative head over to the home to inspect the wall and give a free estimate. After the homeowner gave us the go ahead, our crew got to work! To hold the wall in place, we needed to reinforce the wall with more support. This is why we installed PowerBrace against the basement wall. PowerBrace is made up of several steel I-beams spread out along the wall. These are secured into place at the foot of the wall, and attached to the wooden joists in the ceiling. The ceiling attachment is adjustable, allowing us to form the PowerBrace tightly against the wall. This will apply pressure to the wall, and over time, realign it with its original position. We will return to this basement at a later date to tighten the braces for the homeowner, finishing the PowerBrace installation. With PowerBrace in place, this homeowner now no longer fears his basement wall potentially caving in!
Flooding Sebec, ME Basement Kept Dry with WaterGuard Installation
A couple living in Sebec, ME were looking to renovate their basement and turn it into a livable space. But without proper waterproofing, outside moisture would leak in through their concrete foundation and cause problems. Needing a way to keep the water out of the space, they searched online for a solution. When they found us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, they called right away to set up their free estimate. Knowing their options, they hired us to solve their wet basement problems. Upon arriving at the home, our installation crew got started by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the concrete basement floor. This enabled them to then lay WaterGuard piping down, surrounding the space. Covered in loose rocks and concrete to seal the pipes without hindering their function, the WaterGuard will take in leaking moisture through small slits along the bottom edge of each pipe. This water is now guided through the floor to the sump where a SuperSump pump was installed. The water fed to the SuperSump is forced up and out of the home through a discharge line. This discharge line carries the water a distance from the home before depositing it on the lawn. The end of this line was fitted with a LawnScape discharge port. This piece has the open end covered by a grate, allowing the water to flow freely while blocking any debris from entering the line to cause problems. Just beyond where the discharge line exits the home, an IceGuard pipe segment was implemented into the line. The IceGuard section has upward facing holes that only allow for water trapped in the line to escape. This will prevent ice from blocking the line and causing a backup into the home. With their newly waterproofed basement, these homeowners can now use their basement as a livable space without the need to worry about leaking water ruining their belongings. The WaterGuard piping will keep this basement floor water-free for years to come!
Leaking Walls in Bucksport, ME, Basement Dealt With The Right Way
A homeowner in Bucksport contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems after seeing an ad on his television. This homeowner had a few simple questions; was the water coming in through the wall a big problem, and what could be done to fix it. These questions were quickly answered by us once we arrived and took a look. After the homeowner chose what he wanted done, we got to work! The water coming in through the walls of the basement would collect on the floor and then travel across the basement. To prevent this, we dug up the perimeter of the basement floor, and installed a WaterGuard pipe system around the entire basement. This pipe will catch water as it flows down from the walls or up from the ground and channel it to the sump. The homeowner chose to go with an UltraSump sump pump, to push the collected water out of his basement through a discharge line. On the exterior of the home, we fitted a piece of the discharge line with an IceGuard pipe. This piece will allow water to continue to flow even if the lower end of the discharge line is blocked by ice or debris. This homeowner no longer needs to worry about a wet basement.
Soon To Be Finished Basement In Orrington, ME, Tiled With ThermalDry
A homeowner in Orrington was looking to get their basement finished; but small amounts of water would gather on the concrete floor from time to time. The homeowner had a sump pump, but that just wasn’t doing the job. After seeing TC Hafford Basement Systems at a home show, they decided to hire us for the job. We had a representative take a look at the basement, and then we got to work! We started by removing the old pump, and installing a new TripleSafe sump pump. This pump will almost never fail. There are three separate pumps to maintain constant water removal no matter the weather or power situation. We then laid ThermalDry tiling across the entire basement floor. These are special interlocking tiles that rest slightly off the concrete, supported by an insulation layer. This makes sure the floor the homeowner walks on will always be dry, and insulated from the cold concrete. Now this basement is ready to be finished without fear of water issues.
Basement In Brooklin, ME Protected From The Elements With WaterGuard
Katie in Brooklin was in need of some basement waterproofing. Her basement was letting water in through the walls and floor during rain. This could lead to mold growth or water damage, both of which the homeowner wanted to prevent. To keep the water out of her basement, Katie called TC Hafford Basement Systems to get the job done. We had a representative there shortly after the call to give her a free estimate, then we started on the solution! We needed to excavate the interior perimeter of the basement, removing several inches of concrete. This allowed us to emplace a WaterGuard pipe system; which was then covered over with rocks and cement to seal it into the floor. Once in place, the WaterGuard will collect water as it enters the basement through the walls or floor. After capturing this water, the WaterGuard directs it to the sump. In the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This will take the gathered water and force it up a PVC pipe out of the basement. On the exterior of the home, following the discharge line from the sump, we attached an IceGuard filter along the pipe. This will guarantee water being pumped out of the basement will not become blocked by ice or debris; always having a way to escape the pipe, and exit the basement. Now this homeowner can rest assured their wet basement problems are a thing of the past.
Hudson, ME Crawlspace Kept Dry With CleanSpace
A couple in Hudson were living with a rather musty crawlspace. The space had a moisture problem, that lead to a mold problem. This was the cause of the smell, and something the homeowners wanted to put an end to. Looking online for a solution, they found TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us right away! We gave them their free estimate, and then we got to work! We began by covering the crawlspace floor/wall joint with a Drainage Matting. This will hold back moisture trying to leak in, and give it time to drain back into the soil before it reaches the interior of the space. Next, we encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This new lining will keep out any and all water that might have previously found its way inside. Finally, we installed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier within the space. This dehumidifier will maintain a dry atmosphere within the space, killing off the mold that was attempting to thrive. With the new vapor barrier, and the dehumidifier in place, this couple will never need to worry about moisture gathering within their crawlspace again!
Wet basement in Bangor, ME Protected By WaterGuard
A homeowner in Bangor was having trouble with water leaking into their basement, through the walls and the floor. This water is pressed in by what is called hydrostatic pressure. This allows the water to slowly pass through even concrete during heavy rains. The homeowner needed a way to keep the water out, and after hearing about TC Hafford Basement Systems from a previously satisfied customer, they gave us a call. We had a representative head over to the home to inspect the basement, and give the homeowner a free estimate. They decided on what work they wanted done, and we got to work! Our crew began by digging up the interior perimeter of the basement floor. This gave us a trench to bury our WaterGuard pipe system in. The WaterGuard, after being laid in the trench, was buried with loose rocks and cement. This hides the pipes without hurting functionality. This special pipe system will capture water as it enters the basement, guiding it out of the basement through the sump. Not allowing water time to leak onto the basement floor. Now this homeowner is without worry when it comes to a moist basement. The WaterGuard will ensure a dry basement floor for many years to come.
Vapor Barrier Installation Protects Blue Hill, ME Crawlspace from Moisture
A homeowner living in Blue Hill, ME had begun to notice a musty smell in their home. The smell was coming from a moisture problem in the crawlspace beneath the home. Looking to have the problem fixed, they found TC Hafford Basement Systems after a quick internet search. They called us to get their free estimate and decided to go with us to get the job done! As soon as our installation crew was on site, they got to work beneath the home by laying a Drainage Matting across the ground in the crawlspace. Over the top of this, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the interior of the crawlspace. With the CleanSpace completely locking out moisture, any water build up can easily drain back into the ground through the Drainage Matting. Finally, a SaniDry CX dehumidifier was installed in the crawlspace to eliminate any airborne moisture from the space. This will prevent any mold growth from forming in the future and soon eliminate any musty smell. Now this homeowner can breathe easily knowing their crawlspace is no longer susceptible to mold growth or other moisture problems. The new vapor barrier will keep out any and all outside moisture.
