Portland, ME Homeowner Wants Sump Pump Solution
In Portland, ME, a worried homeowner reached out to us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, concerned about water issues and wanting a sump pump. Our experienced System Design Specialist Ron B. conducted a thorough assessment. We installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump, an asset designed to tackle the three primary causes of pump failure: mechanical issues, pump burnout due to insufficient capacity, and power cuts. To bolster its effectiveness, the WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system was strategically positioned along the perimeter, discreetly hidden beneath a clean layer of concrete but positioned to unobtrusively collect any wall and floor seepage. With the installation complete, the homeowner now enjoys a basement transformed into a safeguarded and functional space, free from dampness and musty odors. In Portland, the consistent reliability of our solutions continues to reinforce what we aim to deliver: a remarkably dry and usable living space.
SaniDry Protects Portland, ME Basement From Mold Growth
Nancy from Portland had started to notice a musty smell emitting from her basement. This was being caused by very moist air. The smell could also be an indication of mold growth in the basement. Seeking professional assistance with this moisture problem, Nancy contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems. We had a representative at the home shortly after to give the homeowner her free estimate. She selected what she wanted done, and our crew started working. To remove the moisture from the basement air, and keep the air dry, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. This dehumidifier takes in the moist air immediately surrounding itself, dries it out, and then pushes it out into the basement. The pressure created by this pulls in more moist air, allowing the process to continue until all of the air within the basement is dry and healthy. This will not only kill off any mold starting to grow, but it will prevent it from spreading, or re-growing in the future. Now Nancy has clean, dry air in her basement, and no need to worry about a musty smell, or mold growth!
No More Puddles in Portland, ME Basement

Realizing the potential damage and inconvenience this could cause, they reached out to our team at TC Hafford Basement Systems for a reliable solution. We proposed the installation of our advanced TripleSafe Sump Pump and WaterGuard drainage system. Positioned adeptly within a sump liner, it guarantees continuous operation with its triple system, ensuring protection against common pump failures—including excessive water volumes and power outages. Thanks to the collaboration of our team and the innovative systems used, the homeowner's basement issues were swiftly resolved. The previously damp space was transformed into a dry, usable area, offering the homeowner both peace of mind and functional space, reinforcing the commitment of TC Hafford Basement Systems to long-lasting solutions.
Sump Pump Upgrade in Auburn, ME, Home
TC Hafford was contacted shortly after a homeshow to head out to Auburn, ME, to check out some cracking basement walls and an old sump that was ready for an upgrade. After taking a look at the site, Mike Pinard had a crew come out to install the new SuperSump sump pump in the home as well as seal up any cracks. The newly installed sump pump was connected and drained to the same sewer as the previous pump. Water Coming Through Bulkhead in Auburn, ME
Our Auburn, ME homeowner contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate to waterproof their basement. After 10 years of having a dry basement, they suddenly began getting water into the basement through the bulkhead with each rain. We installed TrenchDrain at the bulkhead doorway, coupled with WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. These products channel any water and moisture to the homeowners new TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe features two Zoeller sumps and a battery-powered backup. The TripleSafe drains water out of the basement and through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that is protected against ice buildup in the winter with IceGuard.
Moist Basement in Jay, ME, Dried and Sealed
A couple from Jay had a basement that would always be wet. They would keep some belongings in the basement, and these items would always get moist not long after being left in the basement. This was a problem for these homeowners, and so after seeing an ad on TV, they contacted TC Hafford. We took a look at the basement and informed the homeowners of their options for how to remedy the situation. After they chose which option they preferred, we got to work! There was a crack located in one of the walls, this was the main entrance for the water flowing into the basement. This crack was soon covered with FexiSpan. FlexiSpan is a special three layer seal that both prevents water from coming through any crack, and also allows the seal itself to bend if the crack shifts at all. We then installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. This keeps any moisture out of the air that might still make its way into the basement. Now this couple no longer needs to fret when it comes to their belongings becoming wet.

WaterGuard Piping Keeps Livermore, ME Basemet Safe from Flooding
Unsure how to keep rainwater from leaking in through their concrete foundation, this Livermore, ME homeowner needed a way to keep their basement dry. After a particularly bad storm, they decided it was time to look online for a solution. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us right away to have an estimate done. To keep the moisture from entering this basement, WaterGuard piping would need to be installed, so the homeowner hired us to get the job done! Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the basement right away. A shallow trench was excavated in the perimeter of the basement flooor to allow for the WaterGuard piping to be laid. Loose rocks and concrete were used to seal the pipes within the floor without hindering their function. The WaterGuard inside the basement floor will now collect any leaking moisture and guide it to the sump to be removed. Within the sump, we installed a SmartSump pump to force any water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Outside the home, two additions were added to this discharge line to complete the waterproofing. The first was an IceGuard pipe segment attached just beyond where the line leaves the home. This piece has special holes built in which allow for any water blocked in the line to escape without backing up into the basement. Finally, a LawnScape piece was used to cap the end of the line. This will allow the water to exit the line onto the lawn while keeping out debris that might otherwise accumulate inside the pipe. With these new installations, this homeowner should no longer need to worry about rainfall causing any flooding beneath their home. The WaterGuard will keep out any future flooding.
