Crack In Augusta, ME Basement Filled In With FlexiSpan
A homeowner in Augusta was having trouble with water leaking into their basement through a large crack in the basement wall. If this wasn’t fixed soon, the homeowner feared it may start to cause water damage if enough water built up. After seeing TC Hafford Basement Systems on their television, the homeowner gave us a call to get their free estimate on the repair cost. They chose how they wanted the crack dealt with, and we dispatched a crew to begin work on the basement. The crack needed to be sealed in a way that would remain water tight for years, even if the wall shifted in any way; this means we needed to apply FlexiSpan to the wall. We started by filling the crack with a sealant. This is the first line of defense against water attempting to leak in through the crack. Next, we laid a foam mat over the sealant. This mat is the backbone of the FlexiSpan and gives it its flexible nature. Finally, we applied another layer of sealant over the foam to hold the structure in place. This FlexiSpan will keep out any water attempting to find its way inside the basement. This homeowner no longer needs to worry about any water damage, now that FlexiSpan is in place.
Leaking Basement in Augusta, ME
A homeowner in Augusta, ME contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems after noticing consistent water accumulation in their basement, which had led to dampness and musty odors. Concerned about the damage the moisture could cause, the homeowner requested an inspection to determine the cause of the water intrusion and find a lasting solution.   Upon inspection, we discovered that water was seeping through cracks in the foundation walls, worsened by poor insulation and lack of drainage. To tackle the problem, we applied Dr. Energy Saver spray foam insulation to seal gaps and insulate the walls. The spray foam not only improved the home's energy efficiency by preventing cold drafts but also created a moisture-resistant barrier, helping to keep the basement dry. We installed the WaterGuard drainage system to capture water entering through the walls and direct it away from the basement. To ensure that water didn't freeze and block the drainage during winter, we installed IceGuard on the discharge line, preventing potential backups. We also added a Trench Drain to control surface water and direct it into the WaterGuard system, providing comprehensive protection from future water damage.   To further safeguard the basement, we lined the walls with the CleanSpace Wall System, creating a vapor barrier that prevents water from entering while keeping humidity in check. This bright, clean-looking system also improved the overall appearance of the basement.     The homeowner was incredibly pleased with how efficiently the team handled the job and noticed a remarkable difference in the air quality and dryness of their basement. With the systems in place, they felt secure knowing their home was protected from future water intrusion.
Basement Wall In Belgrade Lakes, ME Sealed With FlexiSpan
A homeowner in Belgrade Laked was having trouble with a crack in their basement wall. The crack was allowing water to easily leak into the basement during rain, and was allowing for damage to start to occur. This needed to be prevented in any way, and after a prior customer told the homeowner about TC Hafford Basement Systems, we received the call to come out and take a look. We gave the homeowner a free estimate on the cost to fix the crack, and then got to work! To solve this homeowner’s problem, we needed to seal the crack with FlexiSpan. We started this process by filling the crack with sealant. This sealant is then layered over with a foam matting. This adds the flexible structure to the FlexiSpan. The foam is then covered with a final layer of sealant. The finished FlexiSpan can contort and stretch to maintain its coverage over the crack should the basement wall shift in any way. Now this crack is no longer a problem for the homeowner.
Belgrade Lakes, ME Basement Waterproofed With WaterGuard
Betty in Belgrade Lakes was in need of some waterproofing for her basement. Water had been gathering in her basement for months and it was time something was done about it. She contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems to get the job done, and we had a representative out to the home shortly after to take a look and give a free estimate. Betty decided on what work she wanted done and we got started on the basement! We started by excavating the interior perimeter of the basement. This gave us room to lay down a WaterGuard pipe system. This system will capture water as it enters the basement and guide it to the sump. In the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will take the collected water and force it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we added an IceGuard piece to the discharge line. The IceGuard is specially designed to allow water to flow even if the lower end of the line becomes blocked by ice or other debris.
Crawlspace In Belgrade, ME, Sealed Off From The Elements
A homeowner in Belgrade was having a moisture problem in their crawlspace. This was most likely caused by a lake being so close to the house. The homeowner didn’t know how to resolve this issue until seeing an ad on the television for TC Hafford Basement Systems. After contacting us and receiving a free estimate on the cost to fix the problem, the homeowner decided to get the fix! Our crew started by laying down a drainage matting. This will allow collected water to not get locked in the crawlspace, and find its way outside again. Then the crawlspace was completely encapsulated with CleanSpace Liner. This liner covers the entire crawlspace and prevents any moisture from making its way into the crawlspace, if any manages to get in underneath. Now water is no longer something this homeowner needs to worry about!
WaterGuard & FlexiSpan Installations Protect Belgrade, ME Basement from Flooding
A homeowner living in Belgrade, ME was having difficulties keeping their basement free of water. They had a sump pump, but the trouble was water gathering on the floor away from the pump. Looking to put an end to this flooding, the homeowner sought an answer online. They soon found us at TC Hafford and called us right away to receive their free estimate. After they heard what we could do for them they gave us the go-ahead to start work. When our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on installing a WaterGuard piping system. Before the pipes could be laid, a shallow trench was excavated into the perimeter of the basement floor. The WaterGuard pipes were then laid down beneath the surface of the floor and buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete. These pipes, connected directly into the sump pump, will capture any moisture leaking in through the concrete foundation. This will keep any leaks from reaching the surface of this basement floor in the future. Next, a crack along one of the concrete walls needed to be sealed, as it was also a point where water had been leaking into this basement. To put an end to these leaks, a FlexiSpan seal would be used. This began with a primary layer of sealant being applied within and around the crack. This was then covered by a foam mat, running the length of the crack. Finally, a second layer of sealant was used to complete the FlexiSpan strcuture over the crack. This new seal will be able to shift and contort slightly to any shifting of the crack, maintaining a water-tight seal. Thanks to these new improvements, this homeowner should no longer experience any troubles with water leaking into their basement. The WaterGuard piping will take care of any problem before they rise above the surface of the floor.
Belgrade, ME Crawlspace Insulated with Spray Foam Installation
This homeowner living in Belgrade, ME was in need of better insulation below their home. They had been losing heat in the winter through their crawlspace and wanted to do something about it. They sought a solution to this problem online, where they soon discovered us at TC Hafford Basement Systems. Once they called us and we set them up with a free estimate, our sales representative sat down with the homeowner to go over their options. They gave us the green light right away and we got to work! When our installation crew arrived, they moved to the crawlspace to better insulate the home. In order to help keep in the heat during the winter, Spray Foam was used to fill in gaps in the rim joists above the crawlspace. The foam covers the surfaces here and expands to provide a large barrier to resist heat transfer. This will ensure the homeowner can maintain reasonable efficiency of their air conditioning within their home. The Spray Foam insulation being applied below this home should easily attain the results this homeowner was looking for. Their home should now stay warm for many winters to come!
Alna, ME Basement Protected From Water Damage by WaterGuard
A homeowner from Alna was having trouble with water finding its way into their basement. They had a sump in place, but it wasn’t doing a good enough job removing the water. Needing something done about this, the homeowner got online and searched for a solution. TC Hafford Basement Systems was the exact answer they were looking for! They gave us a call and we had a crew at the home to begin work shortly after. We started by digging up the interior perimeter of the basement floor. This gave us a trench to lay a WaterGuard system in. This WaterGuard will gather water as it enters through the walls or floor of the basement. We covered the WaterGuard with loose rocks, and then cement to conceal it below the floor without reducing the functionality. We installed a SmartSump sump pump in the old sump. This will take the water from the WaterGuard and push it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Now this homeowner has a working sump and no longer needs to worry about potential water damage.
CleanSpace Seals Moisture Out Of Walpole, ME Crawlspace
A homeowner in Walpole had an exceptionally moist crawlspace. The moisture content was high enough to enable mold to grow within the space, creating an unhealthy atmosphere. Needing the moisture kept out, the homeowner got online and searched for a solution. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems, and upon receiving their free estimate, hired us to get the job done! To hold moisture back, we lined the wall/floor joint of the crawlspace with a Drainage Matting. This will allow the moisture to drain back into the surrounding soil before reaching the center of the space. We then encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner is made of a thin plastic, and will completely lock out any moisture that would have otherwise found its way into the space. Finally, we installed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier in the crawlspace. This dehumidifier will take all of the moisture from the air, and pump the dry air back into the space. With these sheets laid, and the dehumidifier removing moisture, the mold will die off, leaving behind a dry, healthy crawlspace.
WaterGuard Installation Protects Walpole, ME Basement from Accumulating Water
When this homeowner living in Walpole, ME began having water problems below their home, they were sure their sump pump would take care of it. But with the water gathering in puddles across the floor, the homeowner found themselves having to sweep the water over to the sump in order for it to be pumped out. To solve this problem, they took to the internet and soon discovered TC Hafford Basement Systems. They called us to see what we could offer them, and we set them up with their free estimate. When they knew we could solve their problem, they hired us to get the job done. As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started on the concrete floor by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter. Here, WaterGuard piping was laid, surrounding the basement. These pipes have special slits along their bottom-edges, to trap leaking moisture before it reaches the surface of the floor. After installation, they are buried below a layer of loose rocks and then concrete to seal them within the floor without hindering their function. The water trapped within the WaterGuard is then guided below the floor directly to the sump where it will be removed from the home without first building up on the floor of the basement. With this new addition to their basement, the gathering water on this homeowner’s basement floor will become a thing of the past. The WaterGuard piping will keep this floor water-free for years to come!
