Readfield, ME Sump Upgraded With SuperSump
Susan from Readfield was experiencing difficulty with her semi-finished basement. Even though she possessed a sump, the water leaking in through the back of the basement was still causing the floor to become wet. In order to finish her basement, a wet floor needed to become a thing of the past. Susan called TC Hafford Basement Systems the next day to get the dry basement she needed. To keep the water out of the basement, the sump needed to be upgraded from a drain to a pump, so we installed a SuperSump sump pump in the old sump. The SuperSump is able to move 2,650 gallons of water per hour out of a basement. This should be more than enough to maintain a dry floor for Susan. To keep the SuperSump functional during any weather, we attached an UltraSump backup battery to the SuperSump to keep it operating even if the power goes out. Finally, on the exterior of the home, attached to the discharge line coming from the sump, we installed an IceGuard piece to maintain a steady flow of water. The IceGuard will continue to let water out of the pipe, even if the lower end is blocked by ice or other debris. Now Susan can finish her basement without needing to worry about water gathering on her basement floor.
Proper Vapor Barrier Installation Protects Readfield, ME Crawlspace from Mold Growth
A homeowner living in Readfield, ME had a problem growing beneath their home. WIthout a vapor barrier to keep moisture out of their crawlspace, mold was beginning to grow in the space. To see what they could have done about this problem, the homeowner searched online for crawlspace waterproofing and found us at TC Hafford. They called us to set up their free estimate and we got to work! When our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the space right away by laying a Drainage Matting across the floor of the space. This mat has holes throughout it to allow any moisture build-up within the barrier to flow out through the ground below. Next, the space was encapsulated with a CleanSpace liner. Completing the vapor barrier, this CleanSpace liner will now stop any outside moisture before it is able to reach the interior of this crawlspace, where it would worsen any mold problems. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed within the crawlspace interior. This device will take in any damp air within the space, separating the moisture from it and circulating the dried air back into the space. With their new vapor barrier in place, along-side their SaniDry dehumidifier, this homeowner should soon notice any musty smell dissipate as their mold problem subsides.
SaniDry Installation Dries Damp Air in Readfield, ME Basement
When this Readfield, ME homeowner noticed a musty smell coming from their basement, they realized the space was especially damp lately. Worried this moisture would begin to cause further problems, they searched for a solution to their problem online and soon discovered TC Hafford Basement Systems. After contacting our office staff, they soon met with our sales representative to discuss their free estimate. They soon gave us the green light to begin work on the basement. When our installation crew made it to the home, they were tasked with eliminating the moisture build up in the atmosphere of the space. To achieve this, a SaniDry Sedona was installed on the floor of the basement with a Condensate Pump installed nearby. The SaniDry, once active, will take in the damp air all around the basement. The moisture is then separated from the air and it is circulated back throughout the basement. The collected water flows through a connecting pipe to the Condensate pump. This pump then forces the water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The discharge line carries the water a small distance from the home before releasing it onto the ground where it will harmlessly drain away into the ground. Now this homeowner should soon notice the musty smell fade away while the air becomes cleared of moisture. The SaniDry Sedona will keep the atmosphere below this home healthy and dry for years to come!
Wet Crawlspace In East Winthrop, ME Drained Properly With SmartSump
A homeowner in East Winthrop was having trouble with water gathering within his crawlspace. This water was beginning to cause mold to grow within the space, and the homeowner wanted something done about it. After seeing an ad on television for TC Hafford Basement Systems, the homeowner called us right away! We gave them their free estimate, and then we got to work. To help drain the water from the crawlspace, we installed a SmartSump sump pump in the floor of the crawlspace. This will take in the water, and pump it out of the space through a PVC discharge line. To remove the moisture from the air, we installed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier. Removing the moisture from the air in the crawlspace will eventually kill off the mold. This is because mold needs moisture to survive. With these new products in place, this homeowner will no longer have any trouble with water gathering in his crawlspace.
WaterGuard Installation Protects East Winthrop, ME Basement from Flooding
Living with a flooding basement was not something this East Winthrop, ME homeowner imagined when they first moved into their new home. With a concrete foundation below the home, the homeowner was unsure how to approach the problem. After seeing an ad for TC Hafford on TV, they called us right away and we set them up with a free estimate. They spoke with our sales representative and decided they would like to have us get the job done on their basement. When our installation crew arrived at the home, their first task was to excavate a shallow trench intro the perimeter of the basement floor. This allowed them to lay WaterGuard piping down around the outer edge of the floor, just beneath the surface.  After being buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, the WaterGuard pipes will capture any moisture leaking through the foundation using slits along the edges of each pipe. The water is then trapped within the piping and guided beneath the floor to the sump where it will be removed from the home. To take care of the water-removal, a SuperSump pump was installed in the sump. Nearby, an UltraSump backup battery was also installed and connected to the SuperSump. The new pump will take in the water collected by the WaterGuard and force it out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The SuperSump can keep up with more than 2,600 gallons of water every hour. The UltraSump battery will ensure the SuperSump remains active even during power outages, keeping the basement water-free during especially harsh storms. With their newly waterproofed basement, this homeowner can now use the space below their home how they wanted to without the fear of water damage. The classic WaterGuard & SuperSump combination will keep this basement free of flooding water for years to come!

Next, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier, which will maintain a dry atmosphere within the basement, and destroy the chance for any mold to find a place to live. Finally, we attached an IceGuard filter on the exterior of the home to the discharge line. This will ensure the water exits the basement even if the lower end of the discharge line becomes blocked by ice or other debris. Now this homeowner is worry free with a dry basement!
Crawl Space Encapsulation in Southport, ME
A homeowner in Southport, Maine, reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems with concerns about their crawl space. The crawl space had a dirt floor, and they were looking for a permanent solution to keep moisture and dampness out of their home. Understanding the potential risks of an unprotected crawl space, such as mold growth and poor air quality, they wanted to fully encapsulate the area to protect their home’s structural integrity.   After a thorough assessment, our team determined that the best course of action was to install a CleanSpace liner along with drainage matting. This combination would prevent moisture from entering the crawl space while allowing any water to flow to a designated drainage system. We also installed a SmartDrain to provide an additional layer of protection, ensuring any water that might collect would be directed safely away from the crawl space.     By encapsulating the crawl space, the homeowner can now enjoy a drier, healthier environment beneath their home. They were very satisfied with the results, knowing their crawl space is now fully protected from the elements.
Damp Crawl Space Causing Problems in Southport, ME
This Southport, ME, crawl space was open to the elements and stayed damp, causing issues and leading to problems such as mold. The homeowner needed help, so they called TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate, and System Design Specialist Kathryn Dolan met with the homeowner. Together, Kathryn and the homeowner designed a crawl space encapsulation system that would protect the home and prevent water from being an issue in the future. Ground water was an issue for this crawl space, so a TripleCrawl Sump Pump system was installed to handle the water and pump it out of the home through the new Exterior Buried Discharge line. The Discharge line takes the water far away from the home and is protected against ice buildup with IceGuard. Mold has been an issue, so taking care of the moisture problem in the crawl space was the next step. CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was installed to encapsulate the area and keep moisture out. Drainage Matting is constructed with a dimpled design that channels water to the TripleCrawl and elevates the CleanSpace to keep it clean and protect it. CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that was attached to the walls, sealing the area and brightening the space, making it perfect for storage. SmartDrain and Perforated Pipe were installed to channel water to the TripleCrawl Sump Pump. To finish encapsulating the crawl space and protect the home, SprayFoam was installed to insulate the area, and a SaniDry Sedona was installed to keep the humidity at a safe level. The SaniDry Sedona is connected to a Condensate Pump and drains to the TripleCrawl so the homeowner never has to be worried about emptying a bucket of water, and the system will continue to run without needing to be supervised or checked up on. The homeowner is now able to regain control over their home and can live in the space without the concern of the mold or moisture effecting the health of their family.
Old Sump Pump In Vienna, ME Replaced With TripleSafe
A homeowner in Vienna was in need of a new sump pump. Their old sump was frequently backing up during rains, and would flood the basement several feet high. This was an immense problem for the homeowner, their basement was completely useless. They needed a way to fix this ASAP, so they took to the internet and found TC Hafford Basement Systems. We were just the solution they were seeking. After receiving the phone call, we had a representative look at the basement to find the problem and give a free estimate. We were then able to send in our crew to get to work. The old sump was nearly useless at this point, so we used an EverLast Door to cover the old sump over. We then dug out a new sump, to emplace our TripleSafe sump pump. This pump, as its name suggests, has three separate pumps within it to guarantee functionality. The second pump is in place for when the primary pump malfunctions or can’t completely handle the current level of water. The third pump is a batter powered backup pump for the chance of any power outage within the home. This pump pushes the water outside through a PVC discharge line. Once outside the home, the water travels through a specially designed pipe called an IceGuard along the discharge line. This piece allows water to continue to exit the basement should the lower end of the pipe become blocked by ice or other debris; preventing the new TripleSafe sump pump from backing up and flooding the basement. Now this homeowner has a dry basement, and a sump capable of keeping it that way!
Vienna, ME Crawlspace Protected from Flooding with CleanSpace Encapsulation
When this homeowner living in Vienna, ME was having trouble with dampness in the crawlspace below their home, they needed a way to put a stop to it. When they heard about TC Hafford from a contractor, they called us, and we set them up with a free estimate. After talking with our sales representative, the hired us to right away to keep the leaking moisture from building up in the space. When our installation crew arrived, they began work on giving the crawlspace a proper vapor barrier to keep out future leaks. The first step was to lay a Drainage Matting across the floor of the crawlspace. This matting sits just above the surface of the floor and allows for channels of water to form below itself, guiding any trapped water to where it can drain into the ground below the home again. Next, a CleanSpace liner was used to cover the walls and floor of the crawlspace. The CleanSpace is a solid white sheet which completes the vapor barrier and locks any leaking moisture on its exterior. This will prevent any moisture from building up inside the crawlspace interior in the future. With a vapor barrier in place, the dampness problem below this home has been eliminated. The homeowner can rest assured the CleanSpace encapsulation will keep the water at bay.
