Damp Basement in Winthrop, ME, Dried and Sealed
A homeowner in Winthrop had been experiencing issues with a wet basement since they first moved into their house. This wasn’t too big of a problem for the homeowner, until they changed the pitch of their roof. After this, somehow even more water began to enter the basement. This is when, after seeing an ad on TV, the homeowner decided to contact TC Hafford. We got to work starting by installing a WaterGuard waterproofing system. This is a pipe that encapsulates the interior perimeter of the basement. It sits slightly under the floor, and captures any water entering through either the walls or the floor. We then connected this WaterGuard system to a SuperSump sump pump. This pump takes the water from the basement and pushed it up and out of the basement. On the outside of the house, we finished this project with an IceGuard piece. This section of pipe allows for water to escape the pipe should ice or other debris block the flow further along. These newly implemented systems working together should keep this homeowner happy, and the basement dry.
WaterGuard Saves Winthrop, ME Basement From Water Damage
A homeowner in Winthrop had a problem with water leaking into his basement through the walls and floor. This was damaging his belongings he was storing in his basement, and he needed a way to stop the water as soon as possible. The homeowner got online and searched for a way to solve this problem, soon finding TC Hafford Basement Systems and choosing us to get the job done. They gave us a call the next day and we had a representative head to the home to look at the basement and give the homeowner a free estimate on the cost of the solution. We got the green light and began work! We started the job by digging up the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This gave us a trench to lay down our WaterGuard pipe system. This is a special pipe made to capture water as it tries to enter the basement through the walls or floor, guiding it then to the sump. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump into the sump in the basement. This is where the WaterGuard is leading the water. Once the water reaches the SuperSump, it is pushed up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. This homeowner now can sleep worry free that his belongings are dry and safe in his basement.
Basement Water Issues Preventing Remodel
This Winthrop, ME, homeowner wanted to remodel their basement but couldn’t because of water finding its way into their basement and causing issues. The homeowner wanted to fix their problems before springtime, so they booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems to get the help they needed. WaterGuard was installed along the perimeter of the basement where water was seeping in to capture it and channel it to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe features two Zoeller sumps and a battery-powered backup pump. The battery backup pump protects the homeowner during a rain event when their power goes out. TrenchDrain was installed in high-traffic areas and around appliances, then connected to the WaterGuard. The TripleSafe was connected to an Exterior Buried Discharge line that takes the water away from the home and protects the waterproofing system against ice buildup with the installation of IceGuard. Finally, to keep the humidity in the basement at a safe level and prevent mold and musty odors, a SaniDry Sedona was installed. The homeowner is happy that their basement is protected and they can use their basement however they want without worrying about damage.
Wet Crawlspace In Strong, ME Protected With CleanSpace
A homeowner in Strong was looking for a way to make sure his crawlspace didn’t flood every time it rained. His search for a solution was brought to an end once he saw an ad for TC Hafford Basement Systems on his television. He contacted us right away and set up a meeting with one of our representatives for a free estimate. After the meeting, the homeowner decided on what work they wanted done and we sent in our crew! We got to work installing a CleanSpace Liner. This liner encapsulates the entire crawlspace, except for the ceiling. Locking out moisture by acting as a barrier between the walls and the crawlspace. Being sealing against the walls/supports the CleanSpace lines, water stands no chance of entering. Now this homeowner can rest easy knowing their crawlspace will no longer flood during heavy rains.
Basement In Woolwich, ME, Waterproofed The Right Way
A homeowner in Woolwich was experiencing issues with water seeping into his basement. This water would collect into small pools, and created not only an unusable basement, but also a great environment for mold to grow. Seeing how much of a problem this could cause, the homeowner contacted TC Hafford as soon as he saw an ad for us on television. This was the right move, and we had just the solution for these basement troubles. To start the project, we dug up the interior perimeter of the concrete floor of the basement. This was to make room for our WaterGuard system. This system will rest slightly under the perimeter of the floor. The reason for this, is because water will enter the basement through both the walls and the floor. By placing the WaterGuard here, it will attract and capture all the water before it reaches the surface of the basement floor. The water is then diverted to our next installed device, the SmartSump sump pump. This takes the captured water and pumps it out of the basement through PVC piping. Finally, the IceGuard filter was attached directly outside the house, as a part of the PVC pipe system. This IceGuard will allow water to escape the pipe, should a clog happen that might otherwise prevent the water from exiting the pipe. Now this homeowner’s basement is dry for good!
WaterGuard Protects Farmington, ME Basement From Water Damage
A homeowner in Farmington had a basement which would frequently take on water during heavy rains. This was a problem for the homeowner because he was using this space for storage, and didn’t want his belongings to be damaged by the water. After seeing TC Hafford Basement Systems on his television, this homeowner knew we were exactly the company he needed! He gave us a call and we got working on the basement! We began by digging out the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This allowed us to lay down our special WaterGuard pipe system, which was then covered in loose rocks and cement to hide it beneath the floor without stopping it from working. The WaterGuard pipes will capture water as it travels through the cement, not allowing it to reach the surface. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump with an UltraSump backup battery attached. The water collected by the WaterGuard is guided to this new sump, which pumps the water up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard pipe to the middle of the discharge line. This IceGuard will allow water to exit the pipe in the event of a blockage lower down the pipe. With these systems in place and working together, this homeowner will no longer need to worry about water finding its way into his basement!
Sump Upgrade Keeps Farmington, ME Basement Water-Free
This homeownr from Farmington, ME had water entering their basement through the concrete foundation itself. They were unsure how to stop the leakages and needed to regularly remove the water themselves. Soon after seeing us on their TV, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems to see what we could do to solve their problem. After they received their free estimate, they hired us to get the job done! When our installation crew arrived at the home, they needed to dig into the basement floor to properly waterproof this basement. A shallow trench was excavated into the perimeter of the concrete floor. Inside this new trench, a WaterGuard piping system was laid down surrounding the basement. Loose rocks and concrete were used to seal the pipes within the floor. The WaterGuard pipes will capture any leaking moisture from now-on through small slits in the bottom edge of the pipes. The water is then guided beneath the floors surface to the sump where it will be removed from the basement. Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump can pump at a rate of 2,650 gallons of water per hour, which will ensure this basement isn't overwhelmed by any amount of leakage. An UltraSump backup battery was attached to the SuperSump nearby. This will keep the pump functional even if the home loses power during a heavy storm. The water is forced up and out of the home by the SuperSump where is is carried away from the home. Outside the home, our crew made two final additions to the discharge line before this job was complete. The first was an IceGuard pipe section attached just beyond where the lien exits the home. This piece has special holes built-in that allow for blocked water to escape without causing a backup into the home. Lastly, a LawnScape piece was used to cap the end of the line. This blends the exit into the surrounding lawn without allowing debris to enter the pipe. Now that their basement has been properly waterproofed, this homeowner can make use of the space. The WaterGuard & SuperSump will keep this space dry for the future.
