Sump Upgrade Keeps Manchester, ME Basement Water-Free
A homeowner that lived in Manchester, ME had been living with an issue building beneath their home. Water would gather across the floor of their basement during any rain, preventing the homeowner from using the space for any reason. Unsure how to keep the water out, the homeowner took to the internet to find a solution. As soon as they found us at TC Hafford, they called us to get a free estimate done. They liked what we offered and hired us to get the job done! When our installation crew arrived at the home, they got to work giving this basement a proper sump system to keep out any future leakages. A SuperSump pump was installed in the floor of the basement, which will handle the removal of any water. This pump can output water at a rate of 2,650 gallons per hour, plenty of power to keep any rainfall at bay. Nearby, an UltraSump was installed and connected to the SuperSump. The UltraSump is a battery that will activate during power-outages to maintain a dry basement even in harsh conditions. The water collected within the SuperSump follows a PVC discharge line up and out of the home where it is deposited on the ground a distance from the home. Now that they have a waterproofing system in place, this homeowner can now make use of their basement without needing to fear water damage. However heavy the rain, the SuperSump will prevent this baseemnt from flooding for years to come.
SunHouse Installation Provides Plenty of Lighting for Manchester, ME Basement
A homeowner living in Manchester, ME had just about completed the process of finishing their basement. One of the final things they needed was proper lighting. With only a couple of small, old windows, the basement wasn’t getting much light during the daytime. Looking to have this corrected, the homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems shortly after looking at our website online. Our office staff set them up with a free estimate and they soon met with one of our sales representatives to talk about their options. After the homeowner selected what work they wanted done, we got started! When our installation crew arrived at the home, the existing windows were removed to make room for their replacements. Where the previous windows were located, two Everlast Windows were installed. These windows are maintenance-free and have a bright-white appearance to help brighten the room. Next, four SunHouse windows were installed around the basement. These windows, sitting high up on the walls, are usually buried beneath the ground level with the home. However, the SunHouse is equipped with a solid white semicircle “shield” that will keep the surrounding ground at bay. Now when light enters this pocket and bounces off the shield, the light will be focused into the basement, greatly brightening up the space during the day. With their new windows in place, this homeowner is now a few steps closer to their finished basement! These windows will keep this basement bright while requiring little to no maintenance in the future.

Damp Crawl Space In West Gardiner, ME, Protected By CleanSpace
Todd in West Gardiner was starting to notice a buildup of water in his crawlspace. This water seemed to be seeping in through the walls/floor. Needing this issue addressed, Todd gave us a call, and we had a representative head out to take a look. After investigating, we got to work installing CleanSpace Liner. This liner will completely encapsulate the interior of the crawlspace. Floors, walls, and supports are all covered by the liner. This seals the crawlspace off from the outside elements, not allowing for further moisture to enter. Now this homeowner has a dry crawlspace that won’t be a problem again in the future.
WaterGuard Saves Gardiner, ME Basement From Water Damage
A homeowner in Gardiner was experiencing serious problems with water leaking into their basement during heavy rains. The water was beginning to stain the walls of the basement, and the homeowner needed a way to prevent flooding in the future. Seeing TC Hafford Basement Systems on their television, they gave us a call and we had a representative out at the home in no time to give them their free estimate. The homeowner decided on what they wanted done and we got to work! We began by excavating the interior perimeter of the basement floor. This gave us room to lay down a WaterGuard pipe system. It was then covered over with loose rocks and cement to conceal it within the basement floor without reducing functionality. The WaterGuard pip will capture water as it enters the basement through the walls or floor and guide it toward the sump. In the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump, which will carry the collected water and push it up and out of the basement. The combination of WaterGuard and SuperSump will guarantee a dry basement for this homeowner for years to come!

Smelly Basement In Farmingdale, ME, Aired Out With SaniDry
A homeowner in Farmingdale had a basement with a rather excessive mold problem. This was causing the basement to smell quite a lot, which was upsetting the homeowner. This mold problem was most likely caused by moisture gathering in the air in the basement. Humid air is a wonderful breeding ground for mold, and mold was thriving in this basement. The homeowner needed a solution and they took to the internet to find one. After coming across TC Hafford Basement Systems, they knew what they wanted to do. We had a crew head out to get to work in no time. We installed a SaniDry XP Dehumidifier. This dehumidifier doesn’t just remove moisture from a small secluded area of a basement; it will take the air around itself, dry it out, and blow it across the basement to allow for the other moist air to be circulated and dehumidified as well. Removing any chance of allowing mold grow, maintaining a healthy basement for this homeowner.
WaterGuard Piping Maintains Dry Farmingdale, ME Basement
When a homeowner in Farmingdale, ME had became tired of living with a constantly damp basement floor, they sought a solution to keep the space dry. They soon heard about TC Hafford from a family member and called us to get a free estimate done on their basement. Once the estimate was finished, they decided they wanted the work done and our crew got to work. Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began this waterproofing with the installation of WaterGuard piping. To begin, a trench was dug into the concrete floor, around the perimeter. This is where the new WaterGuard piping was laid, before being buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete. Now inside the floor, these pipes will take in any leaking moisture through slits at the base of each pipe. The trapped water is guided through the floor to the sump where it will be removed. Within the sump, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump for the WaterGuard to feed directly into. This device houses three individual pumps. The primary and secondary pumps are responsible for removing the bulk of the water needing to be pumped out of the home, with the secondary pump only activating if the primary pump cannot handle the water-level alone. The third pump is a battery backup pump, for when the home loses power. This will ensure the basement remains dry no matter how heavy the storm. The water leaves the basement through a PVC discharge line. Outside the home, we attached an IceGuard pipe segment just beyond where this line exits the home. This pipe segment has special holes built-in which allow for trapped water to escape. This will protect he basement from ice in the line causing any backups. Finally, a LawnScape discharge port was attached to the end of the line. This piece has a grate over the end, allowing the water to escape while keeping out any debris thay may block the line. With their new waterproofing complete, this homeowner can rest assured their basement will stay dry, even during heavy rainfall. The WaterGuard will guide any leaking moisture straight to the sump before it reaches the surface of the floor and becomes a problem.
Proper Vapor Barrier Installation Protects Farmingdale, ME Crawlspace from Moisture
A homeowner that lived in Farmingdale, ME had recently begun to notice a musty smell in parts of their home. They tracked the smell to be coming from the damp crawlspace below the home. The moisture creates an excellent environment for mold to grow and the homeowner wanted to remedy this situation as quickly as possible. After seeing TC Hafford Basement Systems on their TV, the homeowner called to receive their free estimate. Once they heard what we could offer, they hired us right away to have the space protected from the moisture. As soon as our installation crew arrived at the property, they got started right away waterproofing the crawlspace below the home. To keep out leaking water, a vapor barrier would be needed in the space. To begin, a Drainage Matting was laid, covering the floor of the crawlspace. This mat sits just above the floor, leaving channels between itself and the floor for any trapped water to flow through to drain from the space without issue. Next, a CleanSpace liner was utilized to encapsulate the interior of the crawlspace. This covered the walls and floor with a thin sheet of plastic, sealing out any outside moisture completely. This now forms a vapor barrier between the crawlspace and exterior of the home. With their newly installed barrier, this homeowner should notice any signs of the moisture problem soon clear up. The CleanSpace liner alongside the Drainage Matting will ensure this crawlspace interior remains dry for years to come!
TripleSafe Sump Upgrade Protects Wiscasset, ME Basement from Water Damage
A homeowner from Wiscasset, ME had been living with a wet basement for some time. Wanting to use the space, they needed a way to keep the basement dry. The homeowner searched online for a solution and soon found us at TC Hafford Basement Systems. They called us for their free estimate and we dispatched our crew to get the job done! Once our installation crew got to the home, they began by installing a TripleSafe sump pump in the floor of the basement. This device houses three pumps within itself. The first and second pumps handle the majority of the water needing to be removed. The third pump is a battery backup pump, which will switch on in the event of a power-outage. A SaniDry XP dehumidifier was also installed nearby. The SaniDry will pull in the damp air from around the basement, separating the moisture from it. The dried air is circulated back into the basement while the collected water is passed to the TripleSafe for removal. The water exits the basement through a PVC discharge line, where it travels up and out of the home. Just outside, an IceGuard pipe segment is attached to the line, to protects against ice blocking the line. If a blockage occurs, the water can escape through the angled holes in the IceGuard before backing up and flooding the basement. Lastly, a LawnScape pipe cap was added to the end of the line to allow the water to exit and drain onto the ground. With their new sump system in place, this homeowner should now be able to utilize the sapce in their basement without fearing water damage! The TripleSafe sump pump and SaniDry dehumidifier will make sure of that.
