Before TC Hafford Basement Systems arrived, the homeowner in Thomaston, Maine, was facing significant structural and water issues in their basement. Water was consistently entering the basement, even on dry days. This was not just an inconvenience but a growing concern for the homeowner, as the structural integrity of the foundation and the persistent water problem needed immediate attention.
After our comprehensive assessment, we installed a WaterGuard system to collect and redirect water before it could enter the basement. A trench drain was added for maximum water capture, and the SuperSump Plus was installed to efficiently pump water away from the home. To further safeguard the basement, we applied the CleanSpace wall system, as well as Dr. Energy Saver spray foam insulation, which would aid preventing moisture from penetrating the foundation walls. IceGuard was integrated into the system to protect the sump pump discharge lines during freezing conditions. The homeowner was left extremely satisfied with a dry and secure basement, and peace of mind that their foundation was protected for the future.
After moving into their new home, this homeowner was looking to do some renovations. Before they got started, however, they wanted to ensure the crawlspace below their home would remain moisture-free in the future to protect the renovations. They called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and after receiving their free estimate, they hired us to get started on a vapor barrier installation. Our crew began work on the crawlspace by leveling the floor using crushed stone. Once level, a Drainage Matting was laid across the floor of the space and a CleanSpace liner was utilized to encapsulate the interior of the crawlspace. Between the CleanSpace and the dirt floor, the Drainage Matting rests just above the ground and creates channels for which any blocked moisture can flow through to drain back into the ground below. The CleanSpace liner itself forms a barrier to completely lock out outside moisture, preventing future accumulation on the interior of this crawlspace floor. Finally, a SmartSump pump was installed in the floor of the crawlspace, to intake any blocked water and force it out of the home through a discharge line.
With a proper vapor barrier protecting their crawlspace, this homeowner is now confident they can move forward with their home renovations without fearing future moisture damage. The CleanSpace vapor barrier will maintain a dry crawlspace below this home for years to come!

Living with a damp basement for some time, this Hope, ME homeowner was in the market for a solution to their problem. After a call to us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and a free estimate from our sales rep., they were ready to have us get started on a WaterGuard installation to protect their basement. When our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started on the project by excavating the existing slab to replace it with a fresh slab fitted with a Drainage Matting beneath. Once the slab dries, the WaterGuard piping will capture any moisture leaking in through the foundation in the future through small slits along the lower edge of the piping. The WaterGuard feeds directly into a TripleSafe sump system installed in the floor as well. The TripleSafe houses three pumps, including a battery-powered backup pump to keep the basement completely free of water year-round. Finally, the discharge line leaving the home was fitted with IceGuard & LawnScape pipe segments to provide further protection against ice or debris that might have otherwise blocked the line and caused problems.
