When this Newport, ME homeowner contacted us at TC Hafford Basement Systems with a water leakage problem, we had just the permanent solution they were looking for! Following their free estimate, our installation crew began work on the home by excavating a shallow trench into the majority of the existing basement floor. This was soon replaced with a fresh concrete slab as well as a WaterGuard piping system buried within the perimeter. A TripleSafe sump pump was installed in the basement floor nearby with the WaterGuard feeding directly into it. The TripleSafe system houses three pumps; two pumps to handle the bulk of the water with a third, battery-operated backup pump to handle any power-outages. Finally, a CleanSpace wall system was put in place, covering the walls of the space with a water-tight seal that drains down into the WaterGuard below. Now during any rainfall or melting snow, leaking moisture will be captured by the WaterGuard before reaching the surface of the floor and forced out of the home through the TripleSafe discharge line.
With these waterproofing solutions in place, this homeowner can now rest assured their basement will remain water-free all year-round. The WaterGuard piping working in tandem with a TripleSafe pump will prevent future leaking in this basement for years to come!
Over time, a support beam in this Dixmont, ME, home began to rot, causing the floor to become uneven. The homeowner, who had lived in the home since the 1980s with no plans to move, decided to fix the problem and called TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Alan Noyes met with the homeowner and spent time in the crawl space evaluating the damage before sitting down to design a system specifically for this home. Since the support beam was rotting, it needed to be replaced. Alan decided that the best solution for the home would be a new supplemental beam with four SmartJacks. Once installed in the crawl space, SmartJack supports can correct issues such as sloping or overly springy floors, interior wall cracks, and out-of-level door frames. The floors are now stable, and the homeowner no longer has to worry about further damage to the structure of the home.
This Vinalhaven, ME homeowner wanted to take care of their basement and preserve the health of their beautiful home. After noticing how wet their crawlspace would get, the homeowners called TC Hafford Basement Systems, and System Design Specialist Todd Bernard met with the homeowner to help them accomplish their goals. Todd put together a complete system that would protect the home from future water. In the system, Todd used CleanSpace with drainage matting to encapsulate the crawlspace portion of the basement. In addition to the CleanSpace, Todd used WaterGuard to capture any water and move it to a TripleSafe Sump Pump System where it will be pumped 40 feet away from the home through a buried discharge line. Now the homeowner can rest easy at night, knowing that their basement is now protected, and the health of their home is preserved.
This Corinna, ME homeowner had a crawlspace below their home without any form of moisture protection. This led to them experiencing a musty smell coming from the space as the dampness worsened over time. Wanting something done about this, the homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, and we got right to work! To begin the process of properly waterproofing the space below this home, the dirt floor of the crawlspace was graded until it was flat. Next, to provide a moisture barrier a Drainage matting was laid across the floor and a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the interior of the crawlspace. This formed a water-tight seal to prevent future moisture from leaking into and persisting within the crawlspace. A TripleSafe sump pump was then installed in the floor of the space. This pump will remove any moisture collected beneath the home and force it out of the home through a discharge line fitted with an IceGuard protective pipe. This pipe then terminates through a LawnScape port where the water can harmlessly drain back into the ground a distance from the home.
With their now-waterproof crawlspace, this homeowner should no longer suffer from a musty smell in their home caused by excess moisture. Any water gathering below the home will be swiftly pumped outside where it will stay!
Before TC Hafford Basement Systems got to this home, the crawl space was dirty, damp, leaky, and gross. As most crawl spaces are. The space was hard to access, it wasn't pleasant to walk through, water was settling in areas causing odors and risk of mold. These homeowners knew it was important to consider the air qualiy in their crawl space, as that's the air their family breathes in the rest of the home.
A System Design Specialist visited the home and inspected the space. Working with the homeowner, they were able to design a system custom for this space that will keep it dry and neat. Our production crew went out and did a great job transforming this space into a safe, dry, odorless, usable area. We installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement, which directed water into the new sump pump in the crawl space. CleanSpace and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier were also installed in the Crawl Space.
