This Lovell, ME, homeowner is in the process of renovating their home, and to complete the renovation, they need to tackle their crawl space. Mold, rodents, and critters were a nuisance, and ready to take care of the issue and get rid of their unwanted guests, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Sam Crowley met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a system for their crawl space that would protect the health of the home and keep strange critters out.
To encapsulate the crawl space, CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was laid down to create an inorganic barrier to keep the elements out. Spray foam is installed around the rim joist and walls to insulate and seal up the crawl space. Even though water is currently not an issue, the homeowner opted to install a Sump Liner. This allows for a quick and easy sump pump installation in case it is needed in the future. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed with a Condensate Pump so humidity is kept at a safe level, without the need to ever dump a bucket of water.
The crawl space is now encapsulated and protected from outside elements, and the homeowner can move on to the next step of their home renovation.
Shortly after acquiring their new home in Kennebunkport, this homeowner needed a way to better protect their crawlspace from the often-damp surroundings. Our industry leading team at TC Hafford Basement Systems was able to provide the permanent solution this homeowner was looking for! Our crew was able to encapsulate the interior of the crawlspace using a CleanSpace liner to keep out the unwanted moisture and brighten up the space. To capture moisture from the air and floor to remove it from the space, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed and connected to a SuperSump pump placed in the floor. This will eliminate the humidity in the crawlspace and keep the air dry in the future; all while pumping any collected moisture from the home through a discharge pipe.
Now this Kennebunkport, ME crawlspace has been transformed into a usable space for the new homeowner. The CleanSpace liner alongside the SaniDry & SuperSump systems will keep this crawlspace perfectly dry for many years to come!

System Design Specialist Sam Crowley met with the homeowner to address the issues in the crawl space. The homeowner also wanted to address the issue of cold floors in the winter and groundwater seeping into the crawl space. A system was designed specifically for this crawl space, and Foreman Joshua and his crew installed it. They started by regrading the dirt floor to ensure a level ground, then laid CleanSpace with Drainage Matting. Power Braces were installed to stabilize the walls, and spray foam was used to help encapsulate the crawl space, keeping outside elements outside. Finally, a Smart Sump was installed and connected to an exterior Discharge Line that was buried so it would be out of sight and could carry any water far from the home, where it would no longer pose an issue.
