Dirt Crawlspace In Calais, ME, In Need Of Waterproofing
A homeowner in Calais had a crawlspace with a dirt floor. This wasn’t too big of an issue; but before it became one, the homeowner wanted it addressed. After seeing an ad for TC Hafford on the TV, they decided to contact us. We had a representative out in no time to take a look and make suggestions. Once the homeowner decided on what they wanted done, we got to work! To start the job, we laid down a Drainage Matting. This matting will allow for trapped water to escape if caught between the dirt and the mat. Then we covered the crawlspace with CleanSpace Liner. This acts as a barrier to lock out any moisture trying to enter the crawlspace. This gives the crawlspace waterproofing and a clean look!
Uneven Basement In Whiting, ME Fixed With PolyLevel
Caron from Whiting was starting to notice her basement was uneven. The foundation was clearly sinking down into the ground it was built on top of, and Caron needed something done to rectify this. After seeing an ad for TC Hafford Basement Systems on her television, she knew we were the ones who could solve her foundation problem, so she got into contact with us. We had a representative out at the home in no time to give her a free estimate of the repair cost. Caron gave us the go ahead and we got to work! To solve the discrepancy in the height of the basement floor, we needed to inject PolyLevel to lift the floor back into place. This is done by drilling down underneath the slab, placing a nozzle in the hole, and then pumping PolyLevel until the floor returns to its initial location. Once there, we remove the nozzle, and allow the PolyLevel to harden into a solid. This solid will now hold the basement floor in place for years to come, removing Caron’s concerns of any sort of permanent damage.
Whiting, ME Basement Kept Safe from Flooding with WaterGuard Installation
A homeowner that lived in Whiting, ME had been experiencing flooding in their basement lately. During heavy rainfall, the basement would slowly take on water until pools had formed across the basement. Wanting to take care of this problem before it got any worse, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems immediately after seeing our ad on TV. Our office staff scheduled their free estimate, and they soon heard their options from our sales representative. They soon gave us the go-ahead to get started on waterproofing their basement! Once at the home, our installation crew began work on keeping water from leaking in through the concrete foundation below this home. The first step was to excavate a shallow trench into the perimeter of the floor. Within this, WaterGuard piping was laid, surrounding the basement. These pipes were connected directly into a SuperSump sump pump installed nearby. After being covered over by loose rocks and fresh concrete, the pipes can begin their job below the surface of the floor. Small slits in the pipes capture moisture leaking through the floor, guiding it directly to the sump before ever reaching the surface. The SuperSump then forces the water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Outside the home, two sections of pipes were connected to the discharge line to further protect this basement. The first addition was an IceGuard piece attached just beyond where the line exits the home. The IceGuard will protect the basement from ice blockages in the discharge line. Any water blocked by ice that begins to travel back up the line will exit through angled holes in the IceGuard. On the end of the line, a LawnScape discharge port was attached. This piece is covered by a grate that will let the water freely flow from the pipe while blocking debris from entering the pipe. With their newly waterproofed basement, this homeowner can now rest assured their basement will not flood from some heavy rainfall. The WaterGuard piping system will keep the leaking water from reaching the basement floor in the future.
Musty Camp in Whiting, ME Waterproofed with CleanSpace Encapsulation
This Whiting, ME property owner had been putting up with some damp conditions for years and thought it was about time they did something about it. Their camp had a dirt basement beneath that would regularly contain moisture. This caused musty smells inside the camp and triggered allergies for the property owner. Looking to have this problem dealt with, they called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems shortly after seeing us on their TV. We then set them up with a free estimate to discuss their options with one of our sales representatives. After they agreed to have us get the job done, we dispatched our crew to begin work! Once our installation crew arrived at the camp, they got started on waterproofing the basement right away. To keep future moisture from entering into this basement so easily, a vapor barrier was needed. This began with a Drainage Matting being laid across the floor of the basement. Resting on grooves in itself, this mat provides channels for any blocked water to follow and drain back through the dirt floor. Next, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the interior of the basement. This covered the walls and floor of the space with a thing white polymer sheet. The CleanSpace will act to lock out any leaking water from the surrounding ground, channeling it down through the Drainage Matting and out of the basement. To eliminate the existing moisture problem in the basement, a SaniDry Sedona was installed on the floor. This device is a dehumidifier that will pull in the damp air from around the basement and separate the moisture from it. The collected water is passed from the SaniDry to a Condensate Pump installed nearby. The pump will then force the water out of the home through a discharge line, where it will be deposited a distance from the home. Once free of moisture, the dried air is circulated back into the basement. This process continues until the basement is once again filled with healthy, dry air! Now that they have their basement waterproofed properly, this property owner can once again enjoy spending time at their camp! The CleanSpace liner & SaniDry Sedona will ensure this basement remains moisture-free for years to come!
Leaky Basement In Bridgewater, NH Kept Dry With WaterGuard
A couple in Bridgewater had started to notice puddles of water appearing on their concrete basement floor. This water was clearly entering in through the floor and walls of the basement; but the homeowners had no way of preventing this and needed professional help. This is when they contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems. We had a representative look at the basement, give the homeowners a free estimate, then we got to work! We started off by digging up the interior perimeter of the basement, and removing the debris. Laying down WaterGuard pipes all along the inside of this new trench. This WaterGuard will capture all of the water entering in through the concrete walls or floor, guiding it out of the basement through the sump. The WaterGuard is then covered over with loose rocks, which act as a barrier so the cement poured over the top conceals the WaterGuard within the floor, while not diminishing its effectiveness. Now these homeowners are puddle free!

The Eastport Full Gospel Church was experiencing trouble with water entering the basement of the church. This was an immediate problem, because this was space used by the church. They searched online for a solution, and TC Hafford soon got the call! We sent a representative out to give a free estimate, and then we got to work! To solve the problem the church was having, we dug out a sump in the basement floor. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump, which will take water from the surrounding area, and pump it out of the basement through PVC pipes. Following these PVC pipes outside, we installed an IceGuard piece on the exterior of the church. This IceGuard will allow for water coming from the pump to continue to flow should the lower end of the discharge line become blocked by ice or other such debris. Now the Eastport Full Gospel Church can use their basement without the worry of water entering their space.
Leaking Eastport, ME Basement Sealed with FlexiSpan Placement
This property owner in Eastport, ME had recently noticed a crack on one of their basement walls had been leaking water into their basement. This was something the property owner wanted to fix right away but was unsure where to start. After hearing about TC Hafford Basement Systems from an acquaintance, they called us right away to set up a free estimate. Once they heard their options, they gave us the go ahead to get started on solving their wet basement problem! As soon as our installation crew arrived at the property, they began work on sealing the crack by clearing away any loose debris using a coarse brush on the crack. This would allow our seal to better adhere to the wall. To begin the FlexiSpan installation, a primary layer of sealant was applied within and slightly around the trouble crack. A foam mat was immediately laid over the sealant, which gives the FlexiSpan its namesake by allowing the finished seal to bend to accommodate any slight shifts in the shape of the crack in the future. Finally, a second sealant layer was applied over the top of the foam to complete the FlexiSpan seal. With the crack taken care of, this property owner no longer needs to worry about a potentially flooding basement. The FlexiSpan seal will keep this basement floor dry for years to come!
Wet Basement in Presque Isle, ME Dried with WaterGuard Installation
With water regularly entering their basement, a homeowner living in Presque Isle, ME was ready to have something done about it. After hearing about of from a friend, they gave our office a call and set up their basement waterproofing! Once they ecided they wanted to have the work done, our installation crew was dispatched. When they got to the home, our crew started work on thsi basement by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the basement. This is where our WaterGuard piping was then laid, surrounding the basement. Where the piping ran beneath a door leading otuside, a TrenchDrain was used. While the WaterGuard is covered over with a fresh layer of concrete, the TrenchDrain is left at the surface, level with the floor with an upward facing grate leading down into the WaterGuard. Now when water leaks in through the floor of the space, it will become trapped within the WaterGuard and guided through the floor to the sump. With the WaterGuard in place, it was time to upgrade the sump drain. We installed a SuperSump sump pump in the floor of the basement, connected to the WaterGuard. Now any water collected by the pipes will be guided driectly to the sump for removal. The SuperSump can remove over 2,600 gallons of water from the basement every hour. Following the discharge line outside, we made two final additions to the system. First was an IceGuard pipe section to prevent any water from backing up and overflowing the sump if a blockage occurs. Second was a LawnScape cap for the end of the line, to pleasantly incorporate the pipe with the lawn. With these improvements to their home, this homeowner sould no longer suffer from a flooding basement! The WaterGuard piping will keep water from gathering on the floor in the future.
Flooding Basement In Sinclair, ME Kept Dry With WaterGuard
Bruce from Sinclair had a basement that would flood every time it rained a lot. This needed to end as soon as possible, because water damage was a serious threat. Searching online for a solution, Bruce soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems. He called us up to set an appointment, and we had our representative head over to the home. We inspected the basement, gave Bruce a free estimate, then we got to work! We began by creating a trench in the floor surrounding the basement. This is where we laid our WaterGuard piping system. WaterGuard pipes are designed to capture water as it enters through the cement, guiding it out through the sump. The WaterGuard is then covered over with loose rocks and cement to conceal it within the floor. Next, we installed a SuperSump sump pump along with an UltraSump backup battery. This combination will keep pumping water out of the basement in the heaviest of rain storms, even if the home is without power. The water is evacuated through a PVC discharge line, which we attached an IceGuard piece to on the exterior of the home. The IceGuard is a special pipe that will allow the water to exit the side of the line in the event of a blockage further down the pipe. Now Bruce should no longer fear water damage in his basement! With these systems in place, flooding is a thing of the past!
