Wet Basement In West Point, ME Waterproofed With WaterGuard
A homeowner in West Point had a sump pump, yet water would still gather in puddles around their basement floor. The sump pump wasn’t removing the water like it was supposed, so the homeowner looked into ways to resolve this issue. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems in the Yellow Pages and gave us a call to get a free estimate of the repair costs. The homeowner chose what work they wanted done on their basement and we sent our crew over! We began by excavating the interior perimeter of the basement floor. This gave us a trench to bury our WaterGuard pipe system within. This is a special pipe that will take in water as it tries to leak into the basement through the walls or floor before it reaches the interior. It is then buried under loose rocks and cement to hide it under the floor without diminishing functionality. Next, we removed the old sump pump, it wasn’t working properly and needed to be replaced. In its place, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe is composed of three pumps; a primary pump for the majority of the water, a secondary pump in case the primary malfunctions or can’t handle all the water, and a third, battery-backup pump for when the power is out and water still needs to be pumped out. Now this homeowner has a system in place to maintain a dry basement for the future!
Leaking Basement In China, ME Protected By WaterGuard
A homeowner in China was having trouble with water leaking in through both their basement floor and a crack in the wall. This leakage was becoming a problem because it was beginning to show signs of water damage within the basement. The homeowner soon saw TC Hafford Basement Systems on the news, and knew we would be the right choice to solve their basement problem. They contacted us shortly after and we sent a representative to inspect the basement for the homeowner’s free estimate. The homeowner made the choice of what work they wanted done, and we got to work! We began by digging up the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This made way for our WaterGuard pipe system to be laid. The WaterGuard will capture water as it enters the basement through the walls or floor, guiding it out of the basement through a discharge pipe. Next, we sealed the crack in the basement wall with a Polyurethane Injection. We covered the crack with a sealant, and then injected, through tubes placed in the sealant, Polyurethane. Which then spreads to fill the entire crack, solidifying to form a water-tight seal. Now with these systems in place, the homeowner will no longer experience trouble with water gathering in their basement.
Flooding Basement In Barrington, ME Waterproofed With WaterGuard
Tom in Barrington had a problem. His problem was that water would regularly gather in his basement during heavy rains, and flood it. Not knowing what to do to stop this, Tom searched and waited. He soon received a letter in the mail advertising TC Hafford Basement Systems, and he knew we could help him with his water problem. He contacted us shortly after and we had a representative inspect the basement to give him his free estimate. Tom decided on what work he wanted done and we got started! We first had to dig up the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This gave us a trench to lay down our WaterGuard system. This system will catch water as it tries to enter the basement through the walls or floor. It was then covered over with loose rocks and cement to conceal it within the basement floor without hindering functionality. The water that is captured is guided to the sump, where we installed a SuperSump sump pump. The SuperSump will take this water and push it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Finally, we attached an UltraSump back-up battery to the SupeerSump to guarantee it will continue to function even if the power goes out in the home. Now Tom has a dry, waterproofed basement that will stay dry no matter how hard it may rain.
Wet Basement In Frye Island, ME Dried With WaterGuard
A couple on Frye Island was having a problem in their basement. Whenever it would rain, the basement would flood, and the homeowners needed a way to stop this. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and got into contact with us right away to see what could be done to help their flooding problem. We gave them a free estimate on what possible solutions were and how much they would cost, and the homeowners decided they wanted us to do the job. We sent over our crew and got to work! First, the floor around the basement, running along the walls, needed to be dug up to give us a trench. We then in placed our unique WaterGuard system in this trench, and covered it over with loose rocks and cement. This will hide the WaterGuard within the floor without stopping it from functioning. The purpose of the WaterGuard is to catch the water as it tries to leak in through the walls and floor. It does this before the water reaches the interior of the basement, and guides the water to the sump. Next, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. This device contains three separate pumps, each serving a specific job. The primary pump removes most of the water from the basement. The secondary pump is there in case the primary pump fails in any way, to make sure the basement doesn’t flood. The third and final pump is a battery-powered backup pump in case of a power outage. This will keep the basement water free in any amount of rainfall. This water leaves the TripleSafe through a PVC discharge line. On the outside of the home, we attached an IceGuard piece to the discharge line. The IceGuard is specially designed to keep water flowing from the basement even if the lower end of the line is blocked by any sort of debris. Now this couple has a dry basement, and systems in place to keep it that way. They won’t need to worry about a flooding basement again!
ThermalDry Enables Alton, ME Basement To Be Finished
A homeowner in Alton who had been looking for a way to finish their basement had been having trouble with moisture on their basement floor. Needing a way to prevent this from effecting their finished basement, the homeowner contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems. We gave them their free estimate, and then we got to work! To solve the problem of a moist floor without installing a hefty waterproofing system, the homeowner decided to have us install new flooring. We laid ThermalDry floor tiles across the entire basement floor. These tiles have a foam padding on their bottom sides to insulate them from the moisture and temperature of the cement floor. These will allow the homeowner to finish their basement on top of the hard-plastic surface of the ThermalDry tiles. Water damage would never be a concern!
Moist Crawlspace In Chebeague Isles, ME Given Proper Vapor Barrier
A homeowner living in Chebeague Isles had a crawlspace that was regularly moist. The surfaces within the space would gather moisture during rain, and this moisture would stay within the space for days at a time. This started to form a musty smell, and was bothering the homeowner. Seeking a way to prevent this moisture from building up, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems to provide them with a much-needed vapor barrier. To seal off the crawlspace, we encapsulated all of the walls and the floor with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner is made of a thing plastic that water cannot pass through. This locks out the moisture that would have previously been able to gather on the walls or floor. With this new vapor barrier in place, the smell would now dissipate, and the homeowner would no longer need to worry about the moisture.
Wet Waldo, ME Basement Protected from Flooding with TripleSafe Installation
A homeowner that was living in Waldo, ME had a big problem brewing beneath their home. Their basement had been taking on water during rainfall and they needed a way to put a stop to it. With their current sump, the water would still overpower the drain and flood the space. The homeowner soon heard from a family friend about TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us to set up their free estimate. Once they heard their options, they gave us the green light to get started waterproofing their basement! To prevent future build-up of water across the floor of this basement, the sump would need to be upgraded. When our installation crew arrived at the home, they began by installing a TripleSafe sump pump in the floor of the basement. This system houses three pumps, each activating at different time to keep this basement water-free. The primary pump handles the majority of the water, with all of the water exiting the basement through a PVC discharge line. The secondary pump will activate to assist if the primary pump cannot keep up. The third pump is a battery-powered backup pump. This will keep the basement safe from flooding even if the home loses power to the storm. Following the PVC discharge line outside, two additions were made to further protect this basement. The first being an IceGuard pipe segment attached just beyond where the line leaves the home. This piece has special upward facing holes that only allow trapped water to escape the discharge line. Now water will flow from the home normally, but if ice blocks the line, the water will escape without backing up through the sump. Finally, a LawnScape discharge port was attached to the end of the line. This covers the end with a grate, useful for keeping debris from entering and causing blockages. With this new sump system in place, this homeowner should no longer suffer from a flooding basement during any rainfall. The TripleSafe & discharge kit will keep this basement floor water-free for years to come!
