A homeowner in Boothbay Harbor was having troubles with their crawalspace gathering water. This needed to be addressed. Because they had done business with TC Hafford before and were satisfied with the job done; they came to us to take care of their crawlspace problem. Once on the job, our crew got to work installing a CleanSpace Liner. This liner completely encapsulates the crawlspace, sealing it off from the outside. The seal locks out all moisture trying to enter the crawlspace, keeping it dry for future use.

Richard from East Boothbay Harbor was in need of a vapor barrier for his crawlspace. Moisture was finding its way inside the crawlspace, which could lead to possible water damage. We had a representative take a look at the property and give a free estimate. We then sent in our crew to start work on the crawlspace. The crawlspace was first lined with a Drainage Matting around the floor/wall joint. The mat will hold back moisture, allowing it to drain back into the surrounding soil. This is the first layer of the vapor barrier. We then encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This is a plastic sheet that will lock out moisture, not allowing it into the interior of the crawlspace. Now with the moisture being held back, the crawlspace will remain dry for many years to come. Richard now has a fully functional vapor barrier, thanks to CleanSpace!

This Boothbay Harbor, Maine crawl space was experiencing high moisture and humidity. The rock walls and dirt floor were allowing moisture to easily seep in, and the owners were looking to repair the space and control the humidity. We encapsulated the crawl space with drainage matting and CleanSpace vapor barrier to seal out water. A new SaniDry Sedona high efficiency air system now controls the humidity to a healthy level, and it features a MERV 8 filter to remove allergens from the air, keeping the whole home healthy.

Referred to as the “Ledge Room” by the homeowner, this BoothBay Harbor, ME, basement was dealing with water leaking in when it rains and grew concerned about mold and damage to their finished walls. The ledge in the basement was the main root of the issue, and with the homeowner wanting to retire into the home, they didn’t want to waste any time solving the problem. The homeowner booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems and worked with System Design Specialist Michael Madore to design a system that would waterproof their basement and protect the home from costly repairs. Water needs to go somewhere that can take it out of the basement, so a SuperSump was installed that uses a Zoeller sump to collect water and push it away from the home through an Exterior Buried Discharge line. CleanSpace Wall System was installed on the ledge and walls to act as a vapor barrier and channel water to the new WaterGuard system that was installed. WaterGuard collects water and channels it to the SuperSump, keeping water off the basement floor. SprayFoam was installed to insulate the basement and seal the CleanSpace to the wall. A SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed in the basement to keep humidity at a safe level, preventing musty odors and mold growth. Now the homeowner is happy knowing their basement is dry, more energy efficient, and healthier. They can use their basement as they please without the risk of their belongings being damaged or ruined by mold.

With water regularly gathering in their basement, this Shawmut, ME homeowner needed waterproofing, fast! The water had been leaking into their basement up through the concrete foundation. They heard from a relative that TC Hafford Basement Systems could solve their moisture probloem and called us to set up their free estimate right away. The homeowner decided on what work they wanted done and we dispatched our crew to begin work. Once our crew arrived at the home, they began the waterproofing of the basement by digging a shallow trench into the perimeter of the floor. Here, they laid down WaterGuard piping, surrounding the basement perimeter. These pipes were then buried using rocks and concrete. Within the floor, the WaterGuard will take in any leaking moisture through small slits in the bottom of the pipes. This collected water is guided directly to the SuperSump sump pump we also installed in the basement floor. This pump will force any water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line.The discharge line will carry the water away from the home before the water exits onto the lawn through a LawnScape pipe cap. This piece allows for the water to exit while preventing debris from entering the end of the line. Just beyond where the line exits the home, we attached an IceGuard pipe segment. This will protect the basement against ice blocking the lower end of the line. The blocked water will exit through holes in the the IceGuard before reaching back into the basement. These new additions will keep any water on the outside of this Shawmut, ME basement. This homeowner can now utilize the space without needing to worry about water damage.

Jim from Edgecomb was having trouble with his drain in his basement backing up. This problem was only getting worse with time, so he got online to find a solution. Jim soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and gave us a call. We had a representative give Jim an estimate and he made his choice as to what work he wanted done. We got to work by digging up the interior perimeter of the basement. This cleared room for us to install a WaterGuard pipe system. WaterGuard is a special pipe that collects water as it enters the basement through either the walls or the floor. Guiding it toward the sump in the basement. After installation, the piping is covered over with cement to conceal it within the basement floor. Next, we put into place a SuperSump sump pump. This pump is fed the water collected by the WaterGuard system and pushes it up and out of the basement through PVC pipe. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we added an IceGuard to the PVC pipe. This is a unique piece of pipe that allows for the evacuated water to continue to flow even if the lower end of the pipe is blocked by ice or debris. Now this homeowner no longer needs to worry about his basement flooding.

A homeowner in Windsor was looking to put their home on the market. But a crack in their basement wall was going to be a big problem when trying to sell their house. They soon got online to find an solution to their problem. After coming across TC Hafford Basement Systems, they knew we were the right choice! Once our crew arrived and got to work, they needed to start by covering the crack with a paste to hold in the Polyurethane. The Polyurethane is pumped into the crack, and sealed in so it can form an impassable barrier for water. This fix is now able to be painted over, to hide any signs of damage to the basement wall.
