Wet Basement in Gouldsboro, ME Waterproofed with WaterGuard Piping
This homeowner living in Gouldsboro, ME was having trouble keeping water off their basement floor. Even with a concrete foundation, rainwater would still somehow enter the basement and gather across the floor. Looking to have these damp conditions dealt with for good, the homeowner searched online for a solution. Once they discovered TC Hafford Basement Systems they called us right away to set up their free estimate. After hearing their options, the homeowner hired us to get the job done!
When our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the floor of this basement right away. First, a shallow trench was excavated into the perimeter of the concrete floor. Within this new trench, WaterGuard piping was laid, surrounding the basement. These pipes were then buried beneath a layer of rocks and a coat of fresh concrete. This will conceal the pipes without hindering their function. The bottom edge of each pipe has a small slit that allows any leaking moisture to be absorbed into the WaterGuard. This water is then guided beneath the surface of the floor directly to the sump to be removed from the home.
Within the sump, we installed a TripleSafe pump system. This device houses three pumps, each activating in turn to keep this basement completely water-free. The first and second pumps are both utilized to handle the bulk of the water-removal, with the secondary pump only activating when the primary pump cannot handle the amount of water needing to be pumped from the home. The third pump is a battery-operated backup pump. This will keep the basement dry even if the home was to lose power. All of the water being pumped out of the home by the TripleSafe follows a PVC discharge line.
With these additions to their basement, this homeowner will no longer need to get involved with removing any water from below their home. The WaterGuard piping and TripleSafe system will ensure this basement floor remains dry.
