Broken Sump Pump In Boothbay, ME Replaced With SuperSump
A homeowner in Boothbay had been having trouble with the pump in their sump. Water was flooding their basement, and their pump wasn’t helping to remove any of it. Seeking a way to replace their pump, they contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems. We had a representative give the homeowners a free estimate on the cost to replace it, and then we got to work! We began by removing the old sump pump. This was disposed of properly, to make room for a brand-new sump. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump in the basement. This will surely handle any amount of water trying to flood the basement. The SuperSump can handle 2,650 gallons of water per hour. No water would ever build up within this space again. The water is evacuated through a PVC discharge line, which we attached an IceGuard filter to on the exterior of the home. This filter will allow water to continue to flow from the pipe, even if the lower end of the pipe is blocked by debris. This homeowner’s basement will now remain dry, even in the heaviest rains.
East Boothbay, ME Crawlspace Encapsulated With CleanSpace
Tom from East Boothbay was in the market for some crawlspace encapsulation. He was searching for the right company to get the job done. Tom wanted it to be done right the first time, without the need to have it redone shortly down the road. After seeing TC Hafford Basement Systems in the newspaper, he did a little research and knew we were the right company for the job! We received the call and had a representative at the home to give Tom a free estimate. He decided on what work he wanted done on his crawlspace and we got started. We began work by laying down a Drainage Matting around the inside perimeter of the crawlspace. This acts as the primary barrier against moisture entering the crawlspace around the wall/floor joint. We then covered the entire crawlspace, save for the ceiling, with a CleanSpace liner. This liner locks out any moisture attempting to enter through the walls or floor, maintaining a dry atmosphere. To ensure any remaining moisture in the air is removed properly, we installed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier in the crawlspace. Now Tom has a dry crawlspace and no need to worry about potential moisture damage for years to come!
Basement In Randolph, ME Kept Dry With SuperSump
A homeowner in Randolph was in need of a sump system. They had a drain, but they were tired of cleaning it regularly, and wanted an automatic system. After hearing about TC Hafford from a satisfied customer, they got in contact with us. We started by installing a SuperSump sump pump. This will take any water in the basement and push it up and out through a PVC pipe. Once outside the house, the water passes through a special pipe called an IceGuard. This IceGuard will allow water to escape the pipe should the lower end become blocked by ice or other forms of debris. Now this homeowner maintains a dry basement with much less upkeep.

WaterGuard Installation Keeps South Bristol, ME Basement Dry
Living with a damp basement was not the ideal situation for this South Bristol, ME homeowner. Without a concrete floor or proper waterproofing below their home, this homeowner needed a way to keep the water at bay. After a quick search online, they soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us right away to find out what we could do to help. After our sales representative went gave the homeowner their free estimate, our crew was later able to get started on the waterproofing of this basement. Once our installation crew arrived at the home, their first task was to pour a concrete slab across the surface of the floor. Within this new slab, both a WaterGuard piping system and a SuperSump sump pump were installed. The WaterGuard pipes are situated below the surface of the slab, around the outer most edge. Here, the water that would typically leak into the basement will flor into the slits along the pipes and become trapped within. The collected water is then guided through the floor to the SuperSump to be pumped out of the home before ever reaching the surface of the slab. The water flows out of the home through a PVC discharge pipe; where it is carried a distance from the home before terminating through a LawnScape port. This piece on the end of the line has a grate covering the exit that will prevent most debris from entering the pipe. Just beyond where the discharge pipe exits the home, an IceGuard pipe segment was implemented. This section of pipe has upward facing holes that allow for water blocked within the line to escape without flooding the basement. With these improvements to their basement, this homeowner can now use the space without worrying about the mildew or dampness. The WaterGuard system beneath the floor will keep this basement dry for years to come!
SuperSump Installation Protects South Bristol, ME Basement from Imminent Flooding
With a pool of water regularly forming on the porch in front of their home, this South Bristol, ME homeowner was worried the water would soon find its way into their basement. Looking for a way to prevent their basement from flooding, they searched online and soon discovered our TC Hafford Basement Systems website. The homeowner called us shortly after to ask about receiving their free estimate and we scheduled their appointment with our sales representative! During their meeting, they were given a detailed explanation on what we could do to solve their problem and they hired us to get the job taken care of as soon as possible. Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started on waterproofing this basement by excavating a space for a sump system to be put in. Here, in the natural low point of the floor, a SuperSump pump was installed. This device will take in any water leaking into the basement and force it up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The SuperSump is capable of remove over 2,600 gallons of water every hour, plenty of power to keep this basement water-free. Finally, outside the home we attached an IceGuard pipe segment just beyond where the discharge line leaves the basement. This piece of specialized piping has holes built into the sides that will not affect normal water flow. However, these holes will allow for water blocked by ice or debris to escape the line without backing up into the basement. With these additions to their basement, this homeowner can remain assured the water outside their home won’t pool up on their basement floor. The SuperSump system will ensure this basement stays dry in the future!
Flooding Basement In Edgecomb, ME Dried With WaterGuard
Jim from Edgecomb was having trouble with his drain in his basement backing up. This problem was only getting worse with time, so he got online to find a solution. Jim soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and gave us a call. We had a representative give Jim an estimate and he made his choice as to what work he wanted done. We got to work by digging up the interior perimeter of the basement. This cleared room for us to install a WaterGuard pipe system. WaterGuard is a special pipe that collects water as it enters the basement through either the walls or the floor. Guiding it toward the sump in the basement. After installation, the piping is covered over with cement to conceal it within the basement floor. Next, we put into place a SuperSump sump pump. This pump is fed the water collected by the WaterGuard system and pushes it up and out of the basement through PVC pipe. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we added an IceGuard to the PVC pipe. This is a unique piece of pipe that allows for the evacuated water to continue to flow even if the lower end of the pipe is blocked by ice or debris. Now this homeowner no longer needs to worry about his basement flooding.
Crack In Augusta, ME Basement Filled In With FlexiSpan
A homeowner in Augusta was having trouble with water leaking into their basement through a large crack in the basement wall. If this wasn’t fixed soon, the homeowner feared it may start to cause water damage if enough water built up. After seeing TC Hafford Basement Systems on their television, the homeowner gave us a call to get their free estimate on the repair cost. They chose how they wanted the crack dealt with, and we dispatched a crew to begin work on the basement. The crack needed to be sealed in a way that would remain water tight for years, even if the wall shifted in any way; this means we needed to apply FlexiSpan to the wall. We started by filling the crack with a sealant. This is the first line of defense against water attempting to leak in through the crack. Next, we laid a foam mat over the sealant. This mat is the backbone of the FlexiSpan and gives it its flexible nature. Finally, we applied another layer of sealant over the foam to hold the structure in place. This FlexiSpan will keep out any water attempting to find its way inside the basement. This homeowner no longer needs to worry about any water damage, now that FlexiSpan is in place.
Leaking Basement in Augusta, ME
A homeowner in Augusta, ME contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems after noticing consistent water accumulation in their basement, which had led to dampness and musty odors. Concerned about the damage the moisture could cause, the homeowner requested an inspection to determine the cause of the water intrusion and find a lasting solution.   Upon inspection, we discovered that water was seeping through cracks in the foundation walls, worsened by poor insulation and lack of drainage. To tackle the problem, we applied Dr. Energy Saver spray foam insulation to seal gaps and insulate the walls. The spray foam not only improved the home's energy efficiency by preventing cold drafts but also created a moisture-resistant barrier, helping to keep the basement dry. We installed the WaterGuard drainage system to capture water entering through the walls and direct it away from the basement. To ensure that water didn't freeze and block the drainage during winter, we installed IceGuard on the discharge line, preventing potential backups. We also added a Trench Drain to control surface water and direct it into the WaterGuard system, providing comprehensive protection from future water damage.   To further safeguard the basement, we lined the walls with the CleanSpace Wall System, creating a vapor barrier that prevents water from entering while keeping humidity in check. This bright, clean-looking system also improved the overall appearance of the basement.     The homeowner was incredibly pleased with how efficiently the team handled the job and noticed a remarkable difference in the air quality and dryness of their basement. With the systems in place, they felt secure knowing their home was protected from future water intrusion.
New Homeowners Faced with Water in Their Basement
Shortly after moving into their dream home, this Augusta, ME, homeowner was faced with a problem: their basement would get wet when it rained. Wanting to use their basement for storage without the risk of having their belongings damaged, the homeowner reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate to waterproof their basement. System Design Specialist Ken Castillo met with the homeowner, and together they worked on designing a system that would keep their basement dry and their home healthy.   WaterGuard Perimeter drain was installed along the basement walls where necessary to capture groundwater. WaterGuard then channels the water to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. In high-traffic areas, TrenchDrain was installed to capture the most amount of water possible. TrenchDrain features a grated cover that can be removed to clear the system and still capture surface water in front of stairs, doorways, and more. The TripleSafe Sump Pump has the power to pump 2,220 gallons of water an hour out of the main pump alone. Water is pumped out through a Buried Discharge Line that takes the water away from the home, where it can’t cause any more issues. IceGuard was installed at the base of the discharge line to prevent ice buildup, keeping the system running at 100% all year round. Now the home is safe from water, and the basement can be used for storage without worry.
