Flooding Basement In Damariscotta, ME Protected From Damage With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Damariscotta owned a home with a leaky basement. This basement would take on water during any amount of rain. The homeowner needed a way to stop this before any damage occured within the basement. They soon got online and after a quick Google search, found TC Hafford Basement Systems. We set them up with a free estimate, and after they gave us the go ahead, we got to work! The interior perimeter of the basement floor was excavated to begin the project. This newly dug trench allowed us to emplace our WaterGuard system within the floor. The WaterGuard was then covered over with loose rocks and cement to conceal it without preventing its function. Made of specially designed pipes, this system will capture water as it tries to find its way into the interior of the space. The collected water is brought along through the WaterGuard to the sump. In the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump to take all of the water and evacuate it from the basement through a PVC discharge line. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we connected an IceGuard to the discharge line. This will allow water to continue to flow from the pump even when the lower end of the pipe is blocked by debris of any kind. Now this homeowner can be proud to have a properly waterproofed basement!
Leaking Dirt Basement In North Anson, ME Sealed With CleanSpace
A homeowner in North Anson was having trouble with their dirt basement. Water would usually leak in during rain, but mold was starting to spread throughout the basement. Needing a way to deal with this mold, the homeowner searched online for an answer. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us right away. We investigated the basement, gave them their free estimate, and then got to work! To begin, we removed a portion of the dirt floor that was uneven, and graded the floor smooth. We then dug out a sump within the basement to install our SuperSump sump pump. This pump can remove 2,650 gallons of water per hour from the space, forcing it all out through a PVC discharge line. The basement was then encapsulated with a CleanSpace Liner. This thin plastic sheet covers every surface around the basement, except for the ceiling. No more moisture will be able to enter the interior of this basement; It will all be flushed away through the sump. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard piece to the discharge line. The IceGuard is a special open pipe that will allow water to escape should the lower end of the pipe become blocked and begin to back-up. With these additions to the basement, this homeowners mold problem will be a thing of the past! Without the moisture in the air to live off of, the mold will die and disappear.

Without a way to seal it themselves, they soon heard about TC Hafford Basement Systems from a family member and called us right away. After receiving their free estimate, they decided to have us take care of the problem crack. Once our installation crew arrived at the home they began the three-step process of sealing the crack with FlexiSpan. To start, the crack was brushed clear of any debris with a coarse brush, then the first layer of sealant was applied within the crack. A foam pad is then laid over the top of the sealant. This gives the FlexiSpan the flexibility to conform to slight changes in the cracks shape. Finally, the foam is covered with a second layer of sealant, completing the FlexiSpan seal. This will keep water from leaking through the crack in the future. Now that the crack has been sealed, no more water will leak into this homeowners basement. The FlexiSpan will make sure of that!

Dank Basement In Nobleboro, ME, Gets Completely Dried With Double Dehumidifiers

The mold growing in the basement could lead to health concerns for the residents of the home, so this issue was a high priority. We had a crew out shortly after being contacted to get to work. We started by installing a SaniDry CX dehumidifier. This will start to get the job done of clearing the basement air of moisture. But this wasn’t quite enough. Killing off the mold, by removing the proper living conditions, and returning the basement to its former glory.
Sump Upgrade Saves Nobleboro, ME Basement from Water Damage
When this homeowner living in Nobleboro, ME was having trouble with water gathering across their basement floor, they needed a solution before their property suffered any damage. There was a sump in the floor for the water to escape through, but with how much water was entering the space, the water would build up and flood the space before draining away. To solve their moisture problem, they searched online for a solution. The homeowner soon discovered TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us immediately to set up an appointment for a free estimate. After they hired us to get the job done, our installetion crew was dispatched to the home to get started. To help remove water from the basement before it has a chance to accumulate, a TripleSafe sump pump was installed in the existing sump. The TripleSafe houses three pumps within itself, each serving a purpose. The primary and secondary pumps will handle the majority of the water needing removal, with the secondary pump activating only when the primary cannot keep up with the water-level. The third pump is a battery-operated pump which will activate when the home loses power. This will ensure the basement remains dry even during storms harsh enough the knock out the power. The collected water is forced up and out of the home through a PVC discahrge line. With this new sump system in place, this homeowner will no longer go downstair during a rainstorm to find their basement with a layer of water across the floor. The TripleSafe sump pump will keep this basement dry for years to come!
Nobleboro, ME Basement Protected from Flooding with WaterGuard Installation
After living with a wet basement for years, this Nobleboro, ME homeowner had had enough! They needed a way to keep water from flooding their basement during heavy rainfall and they searched online to find the solution to their problem. Once they looked over our TC Hafford Basement Systems website, they called us right away to set up their free estimate! The homeowner soon sat down with our sales representative to go over their options before deciding on how they wanted their basement waterproofed! When our installation crew arrived at the home to get started, they began by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the concrete basement floor. This trench would allow our crew to install WaterGuard piping within the outer edge of this floor. Now, after being buried below fresh concrete, the WaterGuard piping will capture water as it leaks through the foundation. The water enters the WaterGuard through small slits along the bottom edge of each pipe. Once trapped, the collected water is passed to a SuperSump installed in the floor. This device will pump the water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Outside the home, two additions were made to the discharge line before we were finished waterproofing this basement. The first addition was an IceGuard pipe section attached just beyond where the line leaves the home. The IceGuard has upward facing holes built in that do not impede normal water flow. These holes only allow for trapped water to escape, when blocked by ice or other debris. This will protect the basement from flooding due to a blockage in the discharge line. Finally, a LawnScape discharge port was attached to the end of the line. Here, the water will flow out onto the lawn through a grate that will keep most debris from entering the line. With everything in place, this homeowner will no longer suffer from a wet basement! They can now make use of the space without moisture damaging their belongings.
Crawlspace In Bremen, ME Sealed Off From The Elements With CleanSpace
A homeowner in Bremen was looking to finish their basement, but water would leak in through the floors of both the basement and the attached crawlspace. This was a problem that needed to be addressed before any progress could be made in finishing the basement. After the homeowner saw an ad for TC Hafford Basement Systems on their television, they knew they found the solution to their problem. They gave us a call and we got to work! We got to work by first taking care of the wet crawlspace. We covered the interior perimeter of the crawlspace with a Drainage Matting. This will hold any water back from the interior of the crawlspace. We then encapsulated the entire crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner will lock out any moisture from entering the crawlspace by covering the entirety of the walls and floor. The final step of the waterproofing process was laying down ThermalDry Flooring tiles on the basement floor. These are insulated tiles which will keep the water from reaching the surface; as well as maintaining a relatively warm floor temperature compared to that of a concrete floor. Now this homeowner can finish their basement without concern for water damage!
Bremen, ME Basement Kept Water-Free with WaterGuard Installation
Even with a concrete foundation below their home, this Bremen, ME homeowner would still find moisture collecting in their basement. This dampness was beginning to become a problem for the homeowner, so they made sure to write down our number at TC Hafford the next time they saw our ad on TV. After speaking with our office staff, the homeowner was set up with a free estimate to inform them of their options. They soon gave us the green light to get started on waterproofing their basement! As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, their first task was to excavate a shallow trench into the perimeter of the concrete floor. Inside this, a track of WaterGuard piping was laid, surrounding the floor. These pipes, buried below a layer of loose rocks and fresh concrete, will act to capture leaking moisture in the future. Once it traps water through slits along the lower edge of each pipe, the water is guided through the WaterGuard to the sump where our crew installed a SuperSump pump. This device will force the collected water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The water then travels away from the home a distance before being released onto the lawn to harmlessly drain away into the ground. Now that their basement floor has proper waterproofing, this homeowner will no longer find their basement to be constantly damp. The WaterGuard piping will keep the leaking water from reaching the surface of the floor in the future!
Bremen, ME Crawlspace Died & Protected with SaniDry Installation
Living in Bremen, ME, this homeowner had recently noticed a mold problem developing in the joists of their crawlspace after investigating a musty smell coming from below their home. Not sure how to deal with this problem on their own, the homeowner looked online for a solution, discovering TC Hafford Basement Systems in the process. They called our office in Wells, ME and we set them up with an appointment for a free estimate. After hearing what we could do to eliminate their moisture problem, the homeowner gave us the go ahead to begin work on the solution. When our installation crew began work on the crawlspace, their first goal was to provide a proper vapor barrier to keep out future leaks. This started with a Drainage Matting being laid across the floor of the space. This mat sits just off the surface and creates pathways for any blocked water to follow, to prevent pooling and enable easy draining. Next, a CleanSpace Liner was used to encapsulate the crawlspace. Completing the vapor barrier, this liner covers the walls and floor of the space with a water-tight seal, preventing any more outside moisture from entering the crawlspace from outside the home. To eliminate the existing moisture problem within the crawlspace, a SaniDry CX dehumidifier was installed. Nearby, a SmartDrain system was installed in the floor of the crawlspace, with the SaniDry connected via piping. Now the SaniDry will remove the moisture from the air of the crawlspace while passing any collected water directly to the drain to escape the home without needing to wait for the water to drain back through the ground. The water then flows away from the home through a PVC discharge line. With these improvements made to their crawlspace, this homeowner will soon notice their mold problem dissipate along with any musty smells that come with it. The SaniDry & CleanSpace integration will keep this crawlspace healthy and dry for years to come!
