WaterGuard Seals Basement In Wells, ME
A homeowner in Wells would regularly gain moisture within their basement during heavy rains. This water seemed to enter through the walls and floor, as there was no other obvious entrance as far as the homeowner could tell. Needing a way to keep their basement dry, the homeowner searched for a solution. He soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems. He gave us a call and we dispatched a representative to take a look at the basement. We gave the homeowner a free estimate of cost and they selected what they wanted done. We sent in our crew and got to work! We began by digging up the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This allowed us room to lay our WaterGuard piping system around the basement. Once in place, we covered it over with loose rocks and cement. This concealed it, without hindering functionality. The WaterGuard pipes will capture water as it tries to enter the basement through what is known as hydrostatic pressure. This is when there is enough water in the surrounding soil to force water in through even the cement foundation. Once captured by the WaterGuard, the water is guided out of the basement through a drain. Next, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. This will maintain a dry atmosphere within the basement by cycle through the damp air, removing any moisture. With these two systems in place, this homeowner will have a dry, healthy basement for years to come!

When a homeowner in Wells, Maine, reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems, they were facing challenges with water management around their property. Without a robust gutter system, rainwater was washing away soil near the foundation and threatening the home's structural integrity. After discussing their concerns, the team conducted a thorough assessment, evaluating the property’s drainage needs to determine the best solution.     Upon inspection, we recommended a complete Gutter Shutter and Raindrop Gutter Guard system along with a landscape outlet. Gutter Shutter Installation in Wells, Maine
A homeowner in Wells, Maine, reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for a gutter estimate, concerned about how to best protect their home from water damage. After visiting the property, our team thoroughly assessed the situation and determined that the most effective solution would be to install the full Gutter Shutter system. This setup included not only the Gutter Shutter itself but also a 3x4-inch downspout and a valley controller. The Gutter Shutter system is specifically designed to prevent clogging, ensuring water flows smoothly through the gutters even during heavy rainfall. The oversized 3x4-inch downspout further enhances the system’s efficiency by allowing a higher volume of water to be directed away from the home more quickly. This is especially important for homes in areas like Wells, where sudden downpours can cause traditional gutter systems to overflow, leading to potential basement leaks or foundation damage.   The valley controller plays a key role in managing the extra water that tends to accumulate in roof valleys. By controlling and directing this water flow, it ensures that the gutters are not overwhelmed, reducing the risk of water backing up and causing damage to the roof or exterior walls. Once the installation was completed, the homeowner was very satisfied with the final results. They appreciated the professionalism of the crew and the peace of mind that comes with knowing their home is now better protected from water damage. The new system requires minimal maintenance, leaving the homeowner confident in the long-term performance of their gutter system.
Why Attic Insulation Is So Important!
Too little attic insulation and too much air leakage can waste a great deal of energy, leading to an uncomfortable home and higher energy bills. TruSoft Cellulose insulation reduces heating and cooling bills by as much as 32 percent (based on a study by The Leominster Housing Authority), meets and exceeds fire-resistance testing, and is a “green” product as the material contains 85 percent recycled paper that would otherwise end up in a landfill.   This Wells, ME, homeowner was ready to insulate their attic and save money on their energy bill, so they scheduled a free estimate with Dr. Energy Saver by TC Hafford Basment Systems. System Design Specialist Nima Farshid worked with the homeowner to design an energy-efficient system that would make their home healthier and more comfortable. First, their attic was sealed with ZypFoam where necessary and haft-inch Foamax. After the area was finished being sealed, TruSoft Cellulose insulation was blown into the space to insulate the attic and create a home that would be warmer in the winter and keep the AC in during the hot summer months.
Flooding Basement In Hollis Center, ME Waterproofed With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Hollis Center was having issue with water leaking into their basement through the walls and floor. The water achieved this through a phenomenon known as hydrostatic pressure. This is when the amount of water in the surrounding soil is so great, it pressed its way through the cement foundation. To find a solution, the homeowner logged online and searched. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us to receive their free estimate. They agreed to what work they wanted done and we got started. We began by excavating the interior perimeter of the basement floor. This new trench made room for us to lay down our WaterGuard system. This system is then hidden under the floor with loose rocks and cement to ensure functionality. The WaterGuard will capture water as it comes in through the effects of hydrostatic pressure. This water will then be guided to the sump. Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will force all of the water up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Finally, we attached an UltraSump backup batter to the SuperSump. This will maintain the pumping of water even without power in the home. With these three systems working together, the homeowner will no longer experience a flooding basement. They will maintain a dry basement for years to come.

TripleSafe Sump Pump Is Just What This Ogunquit, ME Basement Needed
A homeowner in Ogunquit was experiencing trouble with their basement. Whenever it would rain, water would gather in one of the corners of their basement. They needed a sump pump to remove this water, and after being referred by a family friend, knew TC Hafford Basement Systems could provide exactly that. They called us to set up a meeting, and our representative was at the home in no time to inspect the basement and give the homeowner their free estimate. They selected which pump they wanted and we got to work! We began by digging out a sump in the basement floor. This would allow us to install the pump where most of the water gathered. We then installed a TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe is composed of three pumps, one primary for the bulk of the water, a secondary in case the primary fails for any reason, and finally, a battery powered backup pump in case the power goes out. With this sump pump in place, a flooding basement is a thing of the past for this homeowner!
Sump Pump In Moody, ME Basement Replaced With TripleSafe
A homeowner in Moody had a sump pump that would regularly back up. It just wasn’t powerful enough to push out all of the water that gathered in the basement. Needing to upgrade to a better sump pump, he contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems after seeing an ad for us on his television. We gave him a free estimate, then we got to work! Upon arriving at the home, we needed to remove the old pump from the sump. After making space, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump into where the old sump was. The TripleSafe pump houses three separate pumps which each have a purpose. The first is the primary pump, which is used for most of the water. The secondary pump is for when the primary pump can’t handle all the water or malfunctions for any reason. The third and final pump is battery-operated and is for when the power goes out in the house. The TripleSafe will keep this basement dry, no matter the amount of rain. To finish this project, on the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard pipe piece to the discharge coming from the sump pump. This IceGuard will allow water to escape the pipe should the lower end of the line become blocked by ice or other debris. Worrying about their sump pump is now a worry of the past for this homeowner!
