Moist Poland, ME Basement Kept Dry With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Poland was experiencing issues with a flooding basement. This was making the air extremely moist, creating a perfect environment for mold growth. Needing to stop the mold before it spread, the homeowner got online and searched for an answer. This is where he found TC Hafford Basement Systems. We were just what this homeowner needed to help solve his water issue. He called us the next day and we had our representative inspect the basement to give him a free estimate of cost. The homeowner gave us the green light and we got started First, we needed to dig up the inside perimeter of the basement floor and remove the debris. After this, we were able to lay our WaterGuard system down in this new trench, which was then covered over with loose rocks and cement to conceal it without hindering functionality. The WaterGuard pipes will catch any water trying to enter the basement through the walls or floor and direct it to the sump. Next, we installed a SmartSump sump pump in the sump of the basement, allowing the collected water to be pumped up and out through a PVC discharge line. Finally, we place a SaniDry CX dehumidifier in the basement to maintain a dry atmosphere. The SaniDry will take in the damp air, dry it out, and push it back into the basement to then dry out more air. This homeowner now has a basement which will remain free of water and air that is dry and healthy. This eliminates any chance for mold to grow by removing the environment in which it easily spreads.
Crack In South Poland, ME Basement Repaired With FlexiSpan
A homeowner in South Poland had a finished basement, but a crack had formed in one of the walls. This was leaking water occasionally, and causing problems for the homeowner. Seeking a way to seal the crack, the homeowner looked through the yellow pages, soon finding TC Hafford Basement Systems. They called us to receive their free estimate, and decided to have us fix their crack. Our crew got dispatched and we got to work! To stop the crack from leaking, we needed to seal it with FlexiSpan. To do this, we started by filling it with an initial layer of sealant. This would hold back some moisture, but wasn’t the final solution yet. Next, we covered over the sealant with a foam matting. This matting gives the FlexiSpan its flexibility. Finally, the mat is covered over with a second layer of sealant. This completes the FlexiSpan, locking out any moisture from leaking through. It will also be able to adhere to the crack, should the walls shift in any way. Now this homeowner can use their basement now without the fear of water damage!
Leaking Poland, ME Basement Dried with TripleSafe Installation
Having lived for some time with a water problem in their basement, this Poland, ME homeowner thought it was time they had something done about it. Looking to sell the house soon, the homeowner needed the problem dealt with quickly and effectively. After they discovered us in the Yellow Pages, they called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to receive a free estimate. After hearing the details of what we could do for them, they decided to have us solve their water problem! As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started on the concrete floor below the home by excavating a sump for the water to collect into. Within this sump, a TripleSafe pump system was installed. The TripleSafe houses three individual pumps inside. The first and second pumps handle the bulk of the water needing to be removed, with the secondary only activating if the primary fails for any reason or needs assistance with the volume. The third and final pump operates on a battery; Activating when the home loses power to keep the basement dry even in harsh storms. The water flows up and out of the home from the TripleSafe through a PVC discharge line. Outside the home, two additions were made to this line before our crew was finished this job. The first was an IceGuard pipe segment attached just beyond where the discharge line exits the side of the home. The IceGuard is equipped with upward facing holes that allow only trapped water to escape. This will protect the sump from overflowing in the event of a blockage in the line. Finally, a LawnScape discharge port was attached to the end of the line. This piece enables the water to flow freely from the line while the grate over the end will keep out any sizable debris that might cause problems in the piping. With their new sump in place, this homeowner can now sell their home without worrying about a flooding basement. The TripleSafe system will keep this basement water-free for years to come!

Leaky Basement In South Paris, ME Kept Dry With WaterGuard
Bruce from South Paris was having trouble with water coming into their basement through the walls and floor. This happened due to something called Hydrostatic Pressure. This is when the water content in the surrounding soil is high enough where it has nowhere else to go but to be forced in through the concrete. This homeowner had a sump pump, but needed a reliable system that would remove the water no matter which part of the basement the water entered through. Thee homeowner took to the internet to find professional help, and came across TC Hafford Basement Systems. They called us right away to arrange their meeting with a representative and receive their free estimate. They chose what work they wanted done and we got to work! We needed to start by excavating the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This gave us room to emplace our WaterGuard pipe system. This piping was then covered over with loose rocks and cement to conceal it within the floor without hurting functionality. The WaterGuard rests just beneath the surface of the floor, able to capture all the water trying to enter through hydrostatic pressure before it reaches the surface. The water is then guided to the sump, where we replaced the old pump with a new SuperSump. The water is then pumped out of the home through a PVC discharge line. One the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard filter to this discharge line. This filter will allow for the water to continue to flow freely from the pipe, even if the lower end is blocked by ice or other debris. With these new systems in place, this homeowner won’t suffer from a wet basement any more. The moisture will be captured and removed before ever reaching the interior of the basement.

The SuperSump can handle up to 2,650 gallons of water every hour. More than enough power to keep this basement completely water-free. An UltraSump backup battery was attached to the SuperSump to protect against power-outages. The UltraSump will keep the pump active for up to 11,000 gallons worth of water-removal before requiring a charge. Outside the home, two additions were made to the discharge line to finish this project. The first addition was an IceGuard pipe segment attached just beyond where the line exits the home.
