This water will then be guided to the sump. Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will force all of the water up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Finally, we attached an UltraSump backup batter to the SuperSump. This will maintain the pumping of water even without power in the home. With these three systems working together, the homeowner will no longer experience a flooding basement. They will maintain a dry basement for years to come.

CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that gets attached to the walls and seals up the crawl space, keeping moisture out.

Hollis Center, ME homeowners were experiencing a very wet basement, often having several inches of water in some spots. They reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for help waterproofing the area. We installed WaterGuard, a TripleSafe Sump Pump and a SaniDry Sedona system for a complete solution. WaterGuard is a perimeter drainage system that collects water and channels it directly to the TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe pumps water away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line. The TripleSafe is the top of the line sump pump, with a battery back up system and two Zoeller pumps to handle high capacity water events. The SaniDry Sedona is a high efficiency air system that not only controls the humidity in the space, but also filters out dust and mold spores to keep the air healthy.

We then installed a TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe is composed of three pumps, one primary for the bulk of the water, a secondary in case the primary fails for any reason, and finally, a battery powered backup pump in case the power goes out. The TripleSafe pump houses three separate pumps which each have a purpose. The first is the primary pump, which is used for most of the water. The secondary pump is for when the primary pump can’t handle all the water or malfunctions for any reason. The third and final pump is battery-operated and is for when the power goes out in the house. The TripleSafe will keep this basement dry, no matter the amount of rain. To finish this project, on the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard pipe piece to the discharge coming from the sump pump. This IceGuard will allow water to escape the pipe should the lower end of the line become blocked by ice or other debris. Worrying about their sump pump is now a worry of the past for this homeowner!
