The homeowner submitted a request for a free estimate online, and System Design Specialist Craig Ziegenbein worked with the homeowner to design a structural system that would stabilize the basement wall. PowerBraces were installed to permanently stabilize the wall and prevent any further movement. With PowerBraces, the bottom bracket is secured to the concrete floor, and the top bracket is anchored to the floor joist. Once installed, the PowerBraces are tightened, which generates positive pressure on the supported wall. Now that the wall is stabilized, the homeowner can enjoy their new home without having to worry about any structural issues causing them problems.

Moving into a home with no prior moisture protection in the basement, this homeowner needed a way to keep water from leaking into their new home in the future. Our team at TC Hafford Basement Systems was able to provide a solution to this problem with a WaterGuard piping installation around the basement perimeter. The buried WaterGuard system captures moisture as it leaks in towards the interior. With a new SuperSump pump installed, the WaterGuard is able to remove the collected water from the basement by passing it through the sump. Finally, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the interior walls of the basement and Spray Foam was used to fill gaps in the joists above the space. This provides one final layer of defense against the elements; with the CleanSpace holding back any moisture that may enter through the walls as the Spray Foam provides improved heating/cooling efficiency for the homeowner.

The CleanSpace Wall System was installed to create a full encapsulation system to keep moisture out of the space. The water has to go somewhere, so a SmartSump Sump Pump was installed to pump water through the new Exterior Buried Discharge Line. To keep the system running all year, even during the winter, IceGuard was installed on the Discharge Line to prevent ice from building up. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona was installed and connected to a condensate pump that drains to the SmartSump. Now, humidity will stay at a safe level, and the homeowner will never have to worry about emptying a bucket of water. The space is fully encapsulated, and the home’s health is protected.
