TC Hafford Basement Systems Before & After Photos

This homeowner has lived at this Scarborough, ME, property for over six years but recently developed a problem that could not go unfixed. When it rains or during snowmelting, their open sump hole would allow water to come in and cover part of their basement floor. Not willing to risk their belongings being damaged or risk mold growth due to the water in their basement, they scheduled a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement System, and System Design Specialist Nicholas Ciciarelli met with them. Together, Nick and the homeowner worked together to design a waterproofing system that would meet the needs of the basement and protect the health of the home. The old sump needed to be removed so the hole could be dug out to make room for the new TripleSafe Sump Pump with Battery Backup. Once the TripleSafe is installed, it then gets connected to an Exterior Buried Discharge line that takes the water far away from the home. To ensure the system runs year-round without the risk of ice buildup, IceGuard is installed on the Discharge line to protect the system, keeping the system running at 100%.

We recently helped homeowners in Scarborough, Maine who had leaking basement walls and wanted to keep their basement dry. We installed CleanSpace Wall system, a vapor barrier that seals out moisture, directing it behind the liner and down to the new WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. WaterGuard collects moisture and channels it to the TripleSafe sump pump (not pictured here) to be pumped away from the home. These products work seamlessly together to keep the basement dry all the time!

System Design Specialist Stephen C. met with Scarborough, ME homeowners for a free estimate to address the water and moisture getting into their basement. They had damp dirt floors, along with crumbly stone walls. We poured a new slab to refresh the flooring, along with slab WaterGuard. We also installed a SuperSump Plus system that the WaterGuard channels water to. The SuperSump then brings water away from the home through an exterior discharge line, protected from freezing up in the winter with IceGuard. CleanSpace Wall System was installed on the walls to give a protective vapor barrier, sealing up the crumbling stone wall. Our Spray Foam Specialist Travis L. installed Spray Foam on the rim joists to insulate the space, keeping moisture out and providing energy savings. Lastly, we installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to control the humidity and reduce moisture. 

Owners in Scarborough, Maine had a mold problem in their attic that caused them to have to remove all of their old fiberglass insulation. After having a mold remediation company come in to clean, we installed blown in cellulose insulation in the attic. Cellulose insulation can easily fill attic gaps, and is made of recycled materials. Our Tru Soft Cellulose insulation is also treated to be mold and insect resistant, helping to prevent mold from returning again.

A Scarborough, ME homeowner contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for support with both their basement and their crawlspace. The homeowner wanted to install spray foam insulation, as well as replace their old sump pump, and come up with a solution for the moisture in their crawlspace. 

System Design Specialist Michael P. helped assess the basement and the crawlspace to devise the best plan. We installed SprayFoam insulation around the rim joists and top of the walls in both areas, which creates an air and moisture tight seal, as well as insulates the area. We replaced their old sump pump with a new SuperSump systems with UltraSump batter back up. Lastly, we installed CleanSpace with drainage matting in the crawlspace to encapsulate the area and protect it from moisture.
