Referred to as the “Ledge Room” by the homeowner, this BoothBay Harbor, ME, basement was dealing with water leaking in when it rains and grew concerned about mold and damage to their finished walls. The ledge in the basement was the main root of the issue, and with the homeowner wanting to retire into the home, they didn’t want to waste any time solving the problem. The homeowner booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems and worked with System Design Specialist Michael Madore to design a system that would waterproof their basement and protect the home from costly repairs.
Water needs to go somewhere that can take it out of the basement, so a SuperSump was installed that uses a Zoeller sump to collect water and push it away from the home through an Exterior Buried Discharge line. CleanSpace Wall System was installed on the ledge and walls to act as a vapor barrier and channel water to the new WaterGuard system that was installed. WaterGuard collects water and channels it to the SuperSump, keeping water off the basement floor. SprayFoam was installed to insulate the basement and seal the CleanSpace to the wall. A SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed in the basement to keep humidity at a safe level, preventing musty odors and mold growth. Now the homeowner is happy knowing their basement is dry, more energy efficient, and healthier. They can use their basement as they please without the risk of their belongings being damaged or ruined by mold.
After living with a damp basement for years, this homeowner thought it was time they had something done about it. They had us at TC Hafford Basement Systems take a look and we got to work waterproofing the space right away! We began by burying a WaterGuard piping system below the floor to absorb and guide incoming water to the sump. A SuperSump pump then takes the water and forces it out of the home through the discharge line. Finally, a CleanSpace Wall Liner was used to cover the walls of the basement, brightening up the space and proving an extra layer against moisture build up on the walls.
As shown in the “Before” picture, this basement was beginning to show signs of water damage along the walls. Our installation crew solved this by installing WaterGuard piping beneath the surface of the floor around the outer edge of the basement floor. ZenWall tiles and ThermalDry flooring were used to bring the basement a more finished look and feel; as shown by in the “After” picture. This basement is now ready to be used by the family without the need to worry about future moisture damage!
Typically needing to make use of a shop-vac to help remove water pooling up in their basement, this Sidney, ME homeowner needed a more permanent solution fast! They called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and following their free estimate, we were able to begin work on the basement. Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started by excavating a portion of the basement floor to make room for a SuperSump pump to be placed flush withing the floor. The SuperSump was further secured with a fresh coat of concrete to fill any remaining cracks in the floor. Now during rainfall or melting snow this new SuperSump will take in and force any leaking water out of the home through a PVC discharge line. This line will carry the water a distance from the home before releasing it onto the ground to drain away.
With a more permanent water removal system in place below their home, this homeowner will no longer need to dry their basement floor themselves. The SuperSump pump will keep this basement water-free for years down the road!
Water had not been shy about leaking into this Chelsea, ME, basement, and after years of using pallets to protect their appliances and belongings, the homeowner decided enough was enough. It was time to call TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Alan Noyes met with the homeowner and put together a plan to give them peace of mind while they travel. The system started with a WaterGuard Perimeter drain connected to a TripleSafe Sump Pump. TrenchDrain was incorporated where necessary, and BrightWall was attached to the walls, not only to brighten the basement but also to add another layer of waterproofing. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona was installed to keep the basement’s humidity at a safe level. The SaniDry Sedona connects to the TripleSafe, meaning the homeowner never has to empty a bucket again. All water is pushed out of the home through a buried discharge line, away from the foundation. Now, the homeowner no longer needs to worry about their basement and can spend their time relaxing on vacation.
