Flooding Weld, ME Home Waterproofed Properly with SuperSump Upgrade and More
When this homeowner living in Weld, ME began to notice moisture beneath their home, they needed to have it dealt with as soon as possible. Leaving the state for a while, the homeowner did not want to come home to a flooded home and mold problems. Needing both their basement and crawlspace protected from the elements, the homeowner was unsure where to start. To find out how to get the job done, the homeowner searched online and soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems. They called us up and we dispatched our sales rep. to give the homeowner a free estimate on the cost. After this, they gave us the green light to get started on waterproofing their home. When our installation crew arrived at the home, they first began work on the crawlspace. TO keep water from entering, a vapor barrier was to be used. First, a Drainage Matting was laid across the dirt floor of the crawlspace. The Drainage Mat has holes throughout it and sits elevated off the floor slightly. This enables water blocked by the finished barrier to flow out through the dirt using the channels below the mat. Next, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the crawlspace completely. This covered the floor and walls of the space with a thin white sheet, sealing off the interior of the crawlspace from any leaking moisture and finishing the vapor barrier installation. Moving to the basement, a sump system would be installed to prevent water from gathering on the floor of the basement. A SuperSump sump pump was placed inside the concrete basement floor and an UltraSump backup battery was connected nearby. The SuperSump can pump over 2,600 gallons of water from the home every hour, plenty of power to keep out any leaking rainwater. The connected UltraSump will provide the SuperSump with power during any outages in the home, protecting the home from especially heavy storms while the homeowner is away and charging when power returns. The pumped water exits the home through a PVC discharge line, where it flows a distance away from the home. Attached to this line are two special pipe segments to further the protection of this basement. The first was an IceGuard pipe segment attached just beyond where the line exits the home. The IceGuard has upward facing holes built-in, to allow for trapped water to escape the line. This will prevent ice inside the line causing the water to backup inside the home and flood the basement. Finally, a LawnScape discharge port was added to the end of the line. The LawnScape section ends the line with a grate, blocking debris from entering the pipe while allowing the water to freely flow. With these improvements to their home, this homeowner can now leave for extended periods of time without needing to worry about their home flooding while they are away. The SuperSump system and CleanSpace encapsulation will ensure this home stays dry for years into the future!
Damp Basement In Orrs Island, ME Protected By WaterGuard
A couple of homeowners in Orrs Island were having water enter their basement though one of the corners. Normally, water wouldn’t be an issue for their basement, because they had a sump system in place to pump out any water. However, this water was collecting in puddles before reaching the sump, thus not allowing for it to be pumped out. This would leave the basement damp and smelly for days after it rained. Needing a solution, they got online and found TC Hafford Basement Systems. They contacted us soon after and we had a representative sent out to give a free estimate on the cost to fix the problem. The homeowners gave the go ahead and we got to work! To start, we dug a trench around the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This allowed us to place a WaterGuard pipe system, which was then covered in loose rocks and cemented in place. The WaterGuard system will capture water as it seeps into the basement through the floor or walls. The water is then guided to the sump within the basement for removal. Underneath a door in the basement which lead outside, we used a TrenchDrain section of pipe. This connects to the WaterGuard and any water trying to slip in under the door is caught here and follows the WaterGuard like the rest of the water. Now with their new WaterGuard system in place, this couple no longer has a damp basement after rain!
Damp Basement in Orrs Island, ME Kept Dry with SuperSump Installation
After living with a damp basement for so long, this homeowner thought it was time they had something done about it. After speaking to some contractors, they were referred to TC Hafford Basement Systems to take care of the dampness problem below their Orrs Island, ME home. After talking with our office staff over the phone, they were set up with a meeting with one of our sales reps. for a free estimate. They agreed to have the work done and we dispatched our crew. Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started with this waterproofing job by installing a SuperSump in the floor of this basement. Nearby, an UltraSump backup battery was installed and connected to the SuperSump. The SuperSump will act to pump and water from this basement up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line at a rate of 2,650 gallons of water every hour. To help keep the sump operational even in the harshest storms, the nearby UltraSump will activate during power-outages. The UltraSump will enable the SuperSump to function for around 11,000 gallons of water-removal. Outside the home, our crew made some final additions to the discharge line to enhance the effectiveness of the system. The first addition was an IceGuard pipe section intersected into the pipes just beyond where they exit the home. The IceGuard has special holes built in that only allow for water trapped in the line to escape, without hindering normal water flow. This will protect the sump from backing up water if ice blocks the line. Lastly, a LawnScape discharge port was attached to the end of the line. Here, the water exits onto the ground through the grate on the LawnScape. This grate will prevent debris from entering the line to cause blockages. Now that they have an effective waterproofing solution beneath their home, this homeowner will no longer need to live with a damp or flooding basement. The SuperSump & UltraSump combination will ensure this basement stays dry!
SaniDry Protects Greene, ME Crawlspace From Moisture
A homeowner in Greene was beginning to have a mold problem in their crawlspace. Moisture was finding its way into the air, which created the perfect atmosphere for mold to grow. The homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems right away to receive their free estimate. We then began work on the crawlspace to remove this mold issue. To do so, we installed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier. This dehumidifier will, over time, take all of the moisture out of the air and maintain a dry atmosphere. Crack in Harpswell, ME Basement Wall is Fixed
A homeowner in Harpswell had a crack in their basement that was on the side of their home with a deck attached. After an internet search, the homeowner found our site and contacted us to come out and get the job done. The problem was quickly resolved using FlexiSpan to cover the crack in the wall and keep it sealed for the future. What to do When You Have a Basement and Crawl Space
This Harpswell, ME, homeowner recently purchased a new home and immediately had issues with water coming into their basement and crawl space area. Uncertain of how it comes in but appearing often, the homeowner wants to address the issue before it becomes a bigger problem or affects the health of their home. Looking for help, the homeowner reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems to schedule a free estimate. System Design Specialist Michael Madore met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a waterproofing system specific to their unique situation.   To address the crawl space portion of the area, CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was laid down to create an inorganic barrier between the crawl space and the outside elements. CleanSpace not only brightens the area but also aids in keeping critters and moisture out. Drainage Matting creates a barrier gap and allows water to be channeled to the new SuperSump Sump Pump. The SuperSump will push all water out of the area, and because of the CleanSpace and Drainage Matting’s tough design, the crawl space is the perfect storage area for the homeowner.   The basement portion of the space needed to be addressed, and so WaterGuard Perimeter Drain was installed where needed and connected to another SuperSump Sump Pump. The WaterGuard captures and channels water to the SuperSump, which takes the water and pumps it out of the space through a Buried Discharge Line. The Discharge Line takes the water away from the home. The homeowner can now live in their home knowing that their basement and crawl space will no longer be an area of trouble.

He gave us a call and we sent out a representative to give him a free estimate on the cost of the basement repairs. After he chose to get the work done, we started on the basement! We excavated the interior perimeter of the basement and removed the debris. This gave us a trench to install a WaterGuard pipe inside of. This WaterGuard is then covered over with loose rocks and cement is poured on top to seal it underneath the basement floor. The WaterGuard will capture all the water entering the basement through the walls or floor. The water is then directed out of the basement through the sump. Now Derek has a dry basement, and no need to worry about water making its way inside.
WaterGuard Seals Off Brunswick, ME Basement From External Water
A couple in Brunswick was experiencing issues with water coming in through the walls of their basement. They had no way of efficiently removing this water from their basement, and were seeking professional help. They soon heard about TC Hafford Basement Systems from a previously satisfied customer, and called us right away! We had a representative inspect the basement, giving them their free estimate, and then we got to work on the basement! We began by digging a trench around the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This allowed us to lay down our WaterGuard system, which was then covered over with loose rocks and cement. This hides the WaterGuard without hindering functionality. This special pipe system captures the water as it enters the basement, carrying it to the sump we dug in the basement. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump, which will take the collected water from the WaterGuard and push it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Finally, we attached an UltraSump backup battery to the SuperSump. This will keep the SuperSump powered, even if the power in the home is out, due to inclement weather, or any other reason. Now this couple has a dry basement, which will keep itself dry in any weather!
WaterGuard Piping Keeps Livermore, ME Basemet Safe from Flooding
Unsure how to keep rainwater from leaking in through their concrete foundation, this Livermore, ME homeowner needed a way to keep their basement dry. After a particularly bad storm, they decided it was time to look online for a solution. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us right away to have an estimate done. To keep the moisture from entering this basement, WaterGuard piping would need to be installed, so the homeowner hired us to get the job done! Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the basement right away. A shallow trench was excavated in the perimeter of the basement flooor to allow for the WaterGuard piping to be laid. Loose rocks and concrete were used to seal the pipes within the floor without hindering their function. The WaterGuard inside the basement floor will now collect any leaking moisture and guide it to the sump to be removed. Within the sump, we installed a SmartSump pump to force any water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Outside the home, two additions were added to this discharge line to complete the waterproofing. The first was an IceGuard pipe segment attached just beyond where the line leaves the home. This piece has special holes built in which allow for any water blocked in the line to escape without backing up into the basement. Finally, a LawnScape piece was used to cap the end of the line. This will allow the water to exit the line onto the lawn while keeping out debris that might otherwise accumulate inside the pipe. With these new installations, this homeowner should no longer need to worry about rainfall causing any flooding beneath their home. The WaterGuard will keep out any future flooding.
