Bowdoinham, ME, Sump Pump Replaced With SuperSump
A resident of Bowdoinham was experiencing issues with their sump system. It wasn’t pumping enough water out of the basement like it should have been. This was an immediate concern for the homeowner because now their basement was flooding. After seeing an ad on their television, TC Hafford got the call. After discussing options with the homeowner, we had a crew head out and get to work. We started by pulling out the old pump, it needed to be replaced to make sure water would be evacuated properly. Once the old pump was removed, a SuperSump sump pump was installed. This will now keep all the water pumped up and out of the basement. Finally, an UltraSump backup battery was attached to guarantee the SuperSump stays functional even if the power goes out in the home. This homeowner now no longer needs to worry about a wet basement.
Georgetown, ME Crawlspace Protected From Moisture With CleanSpace
Dave from Georgetown was experiencing trouble with moisture in his crawlspace. This moisture was coming in through the surrounding soil, due to the lack of a vapor barrier in Dave’s crawlspace. This moisture could lead to problems, such as mold growth. Looking for ways to prevent the moisture from causing any problems, Dave called TC Hafford Basement Systems. We had our representative at the home in no time to inspect the space, and give a free estimate. We then dispatched our crew and got to work! We began by laying a Drainage Matting along the wall/flood joint surrounding the crawlspace. This mat will hold back a portion of the moisture entering through this area, allowing it time to drain away back into the soil. We then encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. The liner covers the walls, the floor, and any supports in the space. Being made of a thin plastic, the CleanSpace will hold out all the moisture that would have otherwise found its way to the interior of the space. This new vapor barrier will maintain a healthy, dry atmosphere within the space for many years to come. Dave should never need to worry about moisture in this crawlspace again!
Leaking Basement In Kingfield, ME Protected With WaterGuard
The owner of the Webster Free Library in Kingfield was looking for professional basement waterproofing. Their basement had been gathering moisture, and this was absolutely unacceptable for a library, because water damage was a serious risk! Seeking help immediately, the owner took to the internet and soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems. They called us to set up a meeting, and we had our representative over soon after to give them their free estimate. After going over options, we sent in our crew and got to work! To begin, the inside border of the basement floor was excavated to form a trench. Within this trench, we laid down our WaterGuard pipe system. These pipes are then covered with loose rocks and cement to conceal them without preventing their function. They capture water as it seeps through the concrete, guiding it toward the sump, instead of allowing it to leak up onto the floor surface. Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will evacuate all the water brought to it by the WaterGuard system. The water is pumped out through a PVC discharge line, which we attached an IceGuard to on the exterior of the building. The IceGuard is a special section of pipe that will allow the water to escape the pipe should the lower end of the line become blocked by ice or other debris. Finally, we installed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier within the basement. This will eliminate any moisture present in the air, creating a dry atmosphere. With this waterproofing in place, the owner of this establishment will have no need to fear water damage in the future!
Damp Crawlspace in Kingfield, ME Protected with CleanSpace Vapor Barrier
With a crawlspace that was regularly damp and musty, this Kingfield, ME homeowner was in the market for a way to remedy this issue. After seeing an ad for TC Hafford on their TV, the homeowner called our office staff to set up their free estimate! Once the received their estimate and reviewed their options, the homeowner gave us the go-ahead to get started on waterproofing their crawlspace. Once our installation crew made it to the property, they got started waterproofing the crawlspace right away. This began with a Drainage Matting being laid across the floor. This layer sits just above the surface of the floor and has holes throughout. This allows the water blocked by the vapor barrier to collect beneath the Drainage Matting and flow to where it can most easily drain back into the ground. Over the top of this, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the space. The CleanSpace covers all of the walls as well as the floor in a thin plastic sheet that locks out outside moisture, preventing the interior of the space from becoming damp in the future. These two layers together now forms a proper vapor barrier to keep water from building up inside the crawlspace. With their new barrier in place below their home, the homeowner should notice the musty smell that had been coming from the space dissipate soon. The Drainage Matting & CleanSpace liner will keep the interior of this crawlspace dry for many years into the future!
SaniDry Sedona Maintains Dry Atmosphere Below Kingfield, ME Home
This homeowner living in Kingfield, ME had been living with the side effects of a damp crawlspace for some time. With moisture building up in the space below their home, musty air filled their basement and would occasionally waft up into the home. These unpleasant conditions were something the homeowner wanted to be rid of and after hearing about TC Hafford Basement Systems from a family friend, they called us right away to receive their free estimate on a solution. Once they spoke with our sales representative to review their options, they made a decision and we got started on the waterproofing of their crawlspace! When our installation crew arrived at the home, they began by providing the crawlspace with a proper vapor barrier to prevent future leakages. First, a Drainage Matting was laid across the crawlspace floor. This mat creates channels between itself and the floor for water blocked by the barrier to follow and drain back through the ground. Over this mat, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the interior of the crawlspace. Completely covering the walls and floor, this liner locks out moisture trying to enter from the surrounding ground. These two layers together form the new protective vapor barrier. On the surface of the now-covered floor, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed. The SaniDry will pull in the damp air still within the space and separate the moisture from it. The separated moisture is passed to a Condensate Pump installed nearby. The pump then forces the collected water out of the home through a discharge line. Finally, the dried air is circulated back into the crawlspace, so that more damp air can be processed. With these improvements to their crawlspace, they should notice the signs of the dampness disappear in a short amount of time. The new SaniDry Sedona alongside a proper vapor barrier will keep this home moisture free for the future.
Damp Basement in Winthrop, ME, Dried and Sealed
A homeowner in Winthrop had been experiencing issues with a wet basement since they first moved into their house. This wasn’t too big of a problem for the homeowner, until they changed the pitch of their roof. After this, somehow even more water began to enter the basement. This is when, after seeing an ad on TV, the homeowner decided to contact TC Hafford. We got to work starting by installing a WaterGuard waterproofing system. This is a pipe that encapsulates the interior perimeter of the basement. It sits slightly under the floor, and captures any water entering through either the walls or the floor. We then connected this WaterGuard system to a SuperSump sump pump. This pump takes the water from the basement and pushed it up and out of the basement. On the outside of the house, we finished this project with an IceGuard piece. This section of pipe allows for water to escape the pipe should ice or other debris block the flow further along. These newly implemented systems working together should keep this homeowner happy, and the basement dry.
WaterGuard Saves Winthrop, ME Basement From Water Damage
A homeowner in Winthrop had a problem with water leaking into his basement through the walls and floor. This was damaging his belongings he was storing in his basement, and he needed a way to stop the water as soon as possible. The homeowner got online and searched for a way to solve this problem, soon finding TC Hafford Basement Systems and choosing us to get the job done. They gave us a call the next day and we had a representative head to the home to look at the basement and give the homeowner a free estimate on the cost of the solution. We got the green light and began work! We started the job by digging up the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This gave us a trench to lay down our WaterGuard pipe system. This is a special pipe made to capture water as it tries to enter the basement through the walls or floor, guiding it then to the sump. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump into the sump in the basement. This is where the WaterGuard is leading the water. Once the water reaches the SuperSump, it is pushed up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. This homeowner now can sleep worry free that his belongings are dry and safe in his basement.
Wet Crawlspace In Strong, ME Protected With CleanSpace
A homeowner in Strong was looking for a way to make sure his crawlspace didn’t flood every time it rained. His search for a solution was brought to an end once he saw an ad for TC Hafford Basement Systems on his television. He contacted us right away and set up a meeting with one of our representatives for a free estimate. After the meeting, the homeowner decided on what work they wanted done and we sent in our crew! We got to work installing a CleanSpace Liner. This liner encapsulates the entire crawlspace, except for the ceiling. Locking out moisture by acting as a barrier between the walls and the crawlspace. Being sealing against the walls/supports the CleanSpace lines, water stands no chance of entering. Now this homeowner can rest easy knowing their crawlspace will no longer flood during heavy rains.
Basement In Woolwich, ME, Waterproofed The Right Way
A homeowner in Woolwich was experiencing issues with water seeping into his basement. This water would collect into small pools, and created not only an unusable basement, but also a great environment for mold to grow. Seeing how much of a problem this could cause, the homeowner contacted TC Hafford as soon as he saw an ad for us on television. This was the right move, and we had just the solution for these basement troubles. To start the project, we dug up the interior perimeter of the concrete floor of the basement. This was to make room for our WaterGuard system. This system will rest slightly under the perimeter of the floor. The reason for this, is because water will enter the basement through both the walls and the floor. By placing the WaterGuard here, it will attract and capture all the water before it reaches the surface of the basement floor. The water is then diverted to our next installed device, the SmartSump sump pump. This takes the captured water and pumps it out of the basement through PVC piping. Finally, the IceGuard filter was attached directly outside the house, as a part of the PVC pipe system. This IceGuard will allow water to escape the pipe, should a clog happen that might otherwise prevent the water from exiting the pipe. Now this homeowner’s basement is dry for good!
WaterGuard Protects Farmington, ME Basement From Water Damage
A homeowner in Farmington had a basement which would frequently take on water during heavy rains. This was a problem for the homeowner because he was using this space for storage, and didn’t want his belongings to be damaged by the water. After seeing TC Hafford Basement Systems on his television, this homeowner knew we were exactly the company he needed! He gave us a call and we got working on the basement! We began by digging out the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This allowed us to lay down our special WaterGuard pipe system, which was then covered in loose rocks and cement to hide it beneath the floor without stopping it from working. The WaterGuard pipes will capture water as it travels through the cement, not allowing it to reach the surface. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump with an UltraSump backup battery attached. The water collected by the WaterGuard is guided to this new sump, which pumps the water up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard pipe to the middle of the discharge line. This IceGuard will allow water to exit the pipe in the event of a blockage lower down the pipe. With these systems in place and working together, this homeowner will no longer need to worry about water finding its way into his basement!
