Owners of this Strafford, NH crawl space wanted help controlling the humidity and sealing water out of the space. We installed drainage matting with CleanSpace vapor barrier on top to keep the crawl space dry, and give the space a fresh, clean appearance. To handle the humidity, we installed a SaniDry Sedona. The SaniDry Sedona is an extremely efficient air system that can remove over 100 pints of water from the air per day, and also features a MERV 8 filter to remove allergens like mold spores.
System Design Specialist Sam C. helped homeowners with their damp crawl space. The owners had contemplated fixing it for years, and the musty odors and mold had only gotten worse. We encapsulated the crawl space with drainage matting and CleanSpace vapor barrier. Drainage matting helps control the groundwater, while CleanSpace seals moisture out of the crawl space. Spray Foam insulation was applied to the walls and rim joists, keeping cold air and moisture out.
Homeowners from Nottingham, ME wanted help getting a concrete slab floor for their dirt floor basement, and with waterproofing the area. We poured a new slab floor with WaterGuard, a perimeter drainage system to channel water to their new SmartSump pump.
This Middleton, NH, homeowner was dealing with musty smells coming from their crawl space, and the open dirt floor was leading to moisture issues. The homeowner knew they wanted a vapor barrier to be installed in their basement, so they called TC Hafford Basement Systems for help. System Design Specialist Rick Russell met with the homeowner for a free estimate and worked with them to design a system to keep moisture out of their crawl space.
The first step in encapsulating the crawl space was to lay down CleanSpace with Drainage Matting. Drainage Matting is durable, and with the large dimpled design, a gap is created between the CleanSpace and outside elements. CleanSpaces bright white design helps reflect light, creating a more illuminated area that is perfect for storage. Encapsulating a crawl space benefits the area by keeping out moisture and critters, protecting the home, and creating a healthier environment. A Sump Liner was installed to make the installation of a sump pump easier in the future if it becomes necessary. To finish the encapsulation system, SprayFoam was installed on the rim joists to fully protect the home. Now that the crawl space is fully encapsulated, the homeowners’ worries are taken away, and the space that caused them concern is now a perfect area for storage.
Barrington, NH homeowners called us after living in their home for about a year. They were very concerned about their uneven floors and if they had enough support for the home. We installed SmartJacks to lift and level the floors above. SmartJacks are zinc-coated steel posts that never rust, and are custom fit to each basement or crawl space. Each SmartJack can hold over 60,000 lbs, providing ample support to keep the home stabilized.
