Water Coming in Through Old Sump Hole
Challenge
This homeowner has lived at this Scarborough, ME, property for over six years but recently developed a problem that could not go unfixed. When it rains or during snowmelting, their open sump hole would allow water to come in and cover part of their basement floor. Not willing to risk their belongings being damaged or risk mold growth due to the water in their basement, they scheduled a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement System, and System Design Specialist Nicholas Ciciarelli met with them.
Solution
Together, Nick and the homeowner worked together to design a waterproofing system that would meet the needs of the basement and protect the health of the home. The old sump needed to be removed so the hole could be dug out to make room for the new TripleSafe Sump Pump with Battery Backup. Once the TripleSafe is installed, it then gets connected to an Exterior Buried Discharge line that takes the water far away from the home. To ensure the system runs year-round without the risk of ice buildup, IceGuard is installed on the Discharge line to protect the system, keeping the system running at 100%.
