Grand Lake Stream, ME Crawlspace Kept Dry With Proper Sump System
Challenge
A homeowner in Grand Lake Stream, ME was struggling to keep their crawlspace dry. With moisture leaking in after any rainfall, the space was beginning to become a problem. A smell had started to propagate throughout the home, and this needed to be stopped. To have the problem addressed, they homeowner contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
As soon as our crew arrived at the home, it was obvious that the crawlspace needed a way to remove any built-up water. Without one, the leaking moisture would stay within the space to cause mold growth and water damage. We installed a SmartSump sump pump in the floor of the crawlspace to take on the duty of water-removal. This device will take in the water from the floor and force it out of the home through a PVC discharge line. To keep this device operating in any weather, we attached an UltraSump backup battery. The UltraSump will give the SmartSump 11,000 gallons of water worth of pumping charge before running out of battery.
This new sump system will keep this crawlspace free of water for the future. This homeowner can now rest assured their crawlspace will stay dry, and their home will remain smell-free.
