WaterGuard Installation Protects Forest City, ME Basement from Moisture

WaterGuard Installation Protects Forest City, ME Basement from Moisture

WaterGuard Installation Protects Forest City, ME Basement from Moisture WaterGuard Installation Protects Forest City, ME Basement from Moisture

Owning a home with a regularly flooding basement, this Forest City, ME homeowner decided it was time to have some done to put an end to this flooding once and for all. To achieve this goal, they hired us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and our crew got to work providing this homeowner the permanent solution they were looking for. To trap water leaking in through the foundation before it could reach the surface of the basement floor, WaterGuard piping was buried within the floor perimeter. The WaterGuard will capture the moisture and guide it to the newly installed TripleSafe sump system to remove the water from the basement. The water is pumped from the home through a PVC discharge line where it passes through an IceGuard pipe segment on the exterior of the home. This piece of specialty piping protects against blockages in the line such as ice and releases any built-up water before it is able to reach back into the interior of the basement to cause more flooding.

Now when it rains, this homeowner can expect their basement to remain dry with their new WaterGuard piping system in place. These waterproofing measures will keep this Forest City, ME basement dry for years into the future!

Living in Pembroke, ME, this homeowner had a developing moisture problem in their basement. Looking for ways to remedy this problem, they called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, and we were able to set them up with a free estimate. After hearing their options, they hired us right away to get started on a permanent solution to the moisture problem. This began with a WaterGuard piping system being buried beneath the surface of the concrete floor, around the perimeter of the basement. This will form a barrier to capture moisture leaking in through the foundation. Next, a TripleSafe sump system was installed in the basement floor with the WaterGuard feeding directly into it. Now any water captured by the barrier of piping will be guided straight to the TripleSafe for removal from the basement without any moisture gathering on the floors surface. Finally, a CleanSpace wall system was put in place, lining the walls with a waterproof seal to intercept any wall leakage and guide it down into the WaterGuard.

These waterproofing installations will ensure this basement remains water-free for years to come! The WaterGuard & TripleSafe systems working together will be more than enough to keep this basement dry and usable for the homeowner.

Job Stories From Washington County, ME
Dirt Crawlspace In Calais, ME, In Need Of Waterproofing

A homeowner in Calais had a crawlspace with a dirt floor. This wasn’t too big of an issue; but before it became one, the homeowner wanted it addressed. After seeing an ad for TC Hafford on the TV, they decided to contact us. We had a representative out in no time to take a look and make suggestions. Once the homeowner decided on what they wanted done, we got to work!

To start the job, we laid down a Drainage Matting. This matting will allow for trapped water to escape if caught between the dirt and the mat. Then we covered the crawlspace with CleanSpace Liner. This acts as a barrier to lock out any moisture trying to enter the crawlspace. This gives the crawlspace waterproofing and a clean look!

Mount Vernon, ME Crawl space Protected By CleanSpace

Will from Mount Vernon had an issue with his crawlspace. It would gather water whenever it would rain. This issue needed a solution, and a previous customer of TC Hafford told Will about our business. His solution was found! Will got into contact with us, and arranged to have his problem solved.

Our crew got to work installing a CleanSpace Liner in the crawlspace. This is a sheet that covers the crawlspace floor, walls, and surrounds any supports inside the crawlspace. Preventing any water from leaking into the interior of the crawlsace, maintaining a dry atmosphere. Now Will no longer has to concern himself with the moisture in his crawlspace.

Baileyville, ME Basement Protected With FlexiSpan

A homeowner in Baileyville was having trouble with a crack in their basement. This crack was growing and allowing for water to enter during heavy rain. Needing this problem fixed, the homeowner got online to find a solution. This is where they found TC Hafford Basement Systems. After receiving the call, we had a representative head over to the home to give a free estimate. The homeowner soon decided on what they wanted done to solve the problem, and we got to work!

We started with a Polyurethane Injection. This injection lifts part of the concrete foundation back up into place, to help realign the basement to where it originally rested. Then we got busy fixing the crack. We first filled the crack with a sealant, this will help hold back water trying to enter the basement. This sealant is then covered with a foam matting to further the fortification against moisiture. Finally, a second layer of sealant is laid over the foam to completely lock out any water from the outside. Now a wet basement is not something this homeowner needs to be concerned about.

Basement In Machais, ME, In Need Of Permanent Moisture Solution

Karl from Machias had been noticing moisture gathering in his basement. This was causing a musty smell, and possibly even mold growth. The moisture was a concern for Karl because he had a “waterproofing” sheet in place to prevent this, yet the moisture still got in. After searching online, Karl contacted TC Hafford to get the job done. We gave Karl a free estimate on possible solutions and he made his decision. We then got to work installing a SaniDry XP Dehumidifier. This dehumidifier will maintain a dry atmosphere in the basement, even if moisture still enters from the outside. The SaniDry will take in the surrounding moist air, dry it out, and push it outward into the far reaches of the basement. This creates a cycle where the dry air pushes the moist air towards the SaniDry, which then dries it out and pushes it out to pull in more moist air. Now moisture is no longer a concern for Karl!

Garage In Lubec, ME, Leveled Out Using PolyLevel

A homeowner in Lubec inherited a problem with his garage when he bought his home. There was about a 6 to 8 inch gap where the garage floor had sunk down. This gap stretched about 10 to 12 inches long. With concern for his garage collapsing, he contacted TC Hafford to fix this issue. To correct the height of the garage floor, we usesd PolyLevel. Which is a foam injection that is sprayed underneath the concrete to push it back up into place. This PolyLevel will now keep the concrete level with the rest of the foundation. Now this homeowner no longer needs to worry about structural integrity of his garage!

Cracks In Milbridge, ME Basement Sealed With Polyurethane

A homeowner in Milbridge was having trouble with water finding its way into their basement. They had waterproofing systems in place, and this water should not have been able to get into their basement to begin with. This lead them to search online to find a solution; which is where they found TC Hafford Basement Systems. They contacted us and we sent out a representative to investigate the basement. After the investigation, we were able to identify the problem was two cracks in the wall. We then discussed possible solutions with the homeowner, and got to work!

Our crew located the cracks and set up Polyurethane injections. These injections fill each crack with Polyurethane, which flows as a liquid at first, before setting into a firm structure. This finished structure seals off the cracks completely, locking out any moisture trying to enter where it could previously easily flow. Now this homeowner has a dry basement once again!

Eastport, ME Church Waterproofed With SuperSump

The Eastport Full Gospel Church was experiencing trouble with water entering the basement of the church. This was an immediate problem, because this was space used by the church. They searched online for a solution, and TC Hafford soon got the call! We sent a representative out to give a free estimate, and then we got to work!

To solve the problem the church was having, we dug out a sump in the basement floor. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump, which will take water from the surrounding area, and pump it out of the basement through PVC pipes. Following these PVC pipes outside, we installed an IceGuard piece on the exterior of the church. This IceGuard will allow for water coming from the pump to continue to flow should the lower end of the discharge line become blocked by ice or other such debris. Now the Eastport Full Gospel Church can use their basement without the worry of water entering their space.

Wet Basement In Addison, ME Waterproofed Properly

Bob from Addison was in need of some basement and crawlspace waterproofing. He would regularly have water gather within his basement/crawlspace during rain, and this needed to stop. The moisture in his basement could potentially lead to mold growth or structure damage. After a quick search online, he contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems and we got to work!

To start, we surrounded the interior of the crawlspace with a Drainage Matting. Then encapsulated the entire crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This will guarantee that the crawlspace will remain sealed off from the elements and stay dry. Next we dug up the interior perimeter of the basement to make room for the WaterGuard System. This is a special pipe system that collects water as it enters the basement through the walls or floor. This water then follows the pipe to drain outside of the basement. Now this homeowner will have a dry basement for many years to come!

Steuben, ME Basmenet Dried With SaniDry

Adam from Steuben, ME was in need of a solution for the moist air in his basement. This moisture could lead to mold growth or structure damage, and this homeowner needed something done about it! He got in touch with TC Hafford Basement Systems to get the job done. We had a representative head out to the house shortly after to take a look and give a free estimate. The homeowner decided on what work they wanted done, and we got started.

To keep the moisture level down in the basement we installed a SaniDry XP. This will take in the surrounding air, remove the moisture, and the push it out into the further reaches of the basement. This creates a cycle of dry air pushing moist air closer to the SaniDry, which pumps out more dry air. Maintaining a dry atmosphere within the basement, removing any chance for mold to grow. Now Adam is worry free with a dry basement!

Crawlspace In Harrington, ME Encapsulated With CleanSpace

Ken in Harrington was having trouble with water leaking into his crawlspace. This was causing mold problems, which could lead to health risks if it went unchecked. Ken took to the internet to find a solution to his problem. He soon found TC Hafford, and knew we were the right people for the job! We soon got the call and had a representative investigate the crawlspace to give a free estimate.

After Ken decided on what work he wanted done, we got to work! We started by installing a Drainage Matting, this will prevent water from making its way from the edges of the crawlspace to the center. Next, we laid a CleanSpace Liner. This liner encapsulates the entire crawlspace, and locks out moisture from trying to seep in through the walls or floor. Now the environment for mold growth has been severely limited, removing the chance for more mold to grow. Ken can now sleep easy at night, knowing his crawlspace is dry.

Wet Crawlspace In Cutler, ME Sealed Off From The Elements With CleanSpace

A homeowner in Cutler was having a severe mold problem in his crawlspace. This could have a harsh effect on his health if he did nothing about it, so he got online and searched for a way to get rid of the mold. This is when he found TC Hafford Basement Systems. He gave us a call and within days we had a representative at the home to investigate the crawlspace and give a free estimate of how much the fix would cost. The homeowner gave us the green light and we got to work fixing his mold problem!

We started by spraying Mold-X over the visible mold in the crawlspace. Mold-X kills off the mold almost instantly, restoring the crawlspace to near new condition. Not only does Mold-X kill off the living mold, but it also prevents the mold from growing back in the sprayed spots. We then laid down a Drainage Matting around the interior perimeter of the crawlspace. This mat will prevent water from finding its way to the center of the crawlspace where it becomes a problem. Giving it time to drain away. Finally, we encapsulated the entirety of the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner locks out any moisture trying to enter the crawlspace. Now, with dry air, and no mold, this crawlspace is no longer a potential health risk!

Uneven Basement In Whiting, ME Fixed With PolyLevel

Caron from Whiting was starting to notice her basement was uneven. The foundation was clearly sinking down into the ground it was built on top of, and Caron needed something done to rectify this. After seeing an ad for TC Hafford Basement Systems on her television, she knew we were the ones who could solve her foundation problem, so she got into contact with us. We had a representative out at the home in no time to give her a free estimate of the repair cost. Caron gave us the go ahead and we got to work! To solve the discrepancy in the height of the basement floor, we needed to inject PolyLevel to lift the floor back into place. This is done by drilling down underneath the slab, placing a nozzle in the hole, and then pumping PolyLevel until the floor returns to its initial location. Once there, we remove the nozzle, and allow the PolyLevel to harden into a solid. This solid will now hold the basement floor in place for years to come, removing Caron’s concerns of any sort of permanent damage.

Meddybemps, ME Basement Kept Water Free With TripleSafe

Pete from Meddybemps had a sump pump that would regularly back-up and flood the basement. This was a serious problem for Pete because the pump was supposed to be what kept it free of water. The issue got so bad, water damage was starting to become a real threat. Needing a remedy fast, he got online and searched for possible repairs. This is where he found TC Hafford Basement Systems, who he promptly called to receive his free estimate. We then got started on the basement!

To begin, we removed the old sump pump. It was no longer functioning properly, and was disposed of. We then installed a TripleSafe sump pump. This is a three tier pump system that will keep operating under the harshest conditions. The TripleSafe is composed of three pumps. Primarily, the first pump handles most of the water and operates under normal circumstances. The second pump is there for when the primary pump either malfunctions, or cannot handle the amount of water alone. The third and final pump is a batter powered backup pump for when the power it out. These three pumps will maintain a dry basement, forcing collected water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard piece to the discharge line. The IceGuard will allow for water to flow should the lower end of the pipe become blocked by ice or other debris. Now that Pete has a functioning sump pump, he can rest assured he no longer needs to worry about water damage.

Polyurethane Injection Prevents Jonespost, ME Basement From Flooding

A couple in Jonesport were having trouble with a crack in the wall of their foundation. This crack was letting in enough water during rain to flood the basement with several inches of water. Seeking immediate assistance with this crack, the homeowners searched online. This is where they found TC Hafford Basement Systems. They called us right away, and we dispatched a representative to give them their free estimate. After the meeting, we sent in our crew and got to work!

To prevent further flooding within the basemen, we needed to seal the crack. To do this, we laid sealant over the top of the crack. Placing “plugs” every foot or so going up the crack. These plugs are hollow, allowing us to use them as a pathway for an injection. Once the sealant set, we began to inject the Polyurethane in through the plugs. The Polyurethane filled the crack, spreading into even the smallest crevasses. After letting the Polyurethane sit, it hardened within the crack, forming an impenetrable wall that water would no longer be able to pass through.

With this new seal over the crack, a flooding basement is now a thing of the past for these homeowners.

Wet Crawlspace In Grand Lake Stream, ME Protected With SmartSump

A homeowner in Grand Lake Stream had a crawlspace that would regularly gather water when it would rain. Fearing mold growth, the homeowner got online to try and find ways to prevent this moisture build up. This is where they found TC Hafford Basement Systems. They called us right away to receive their free estimate. The homeowner selected what work they wanted done and our crew got to work!

To remove the water as it builds up in the crawlspace, we installed a SmartSump sump pump in the floor of the space. The SmartSump will take in the water, and push it up and out of the crawlspace through a PVC discharge line. We then attached an UltraSump backup battery to the SmartSump to keep it pumping even when the power in the home goes out. The UltraSump holds enough power to evacuate 11,000 gallons of water from the basement.

With these two products in place, the crawlspace should be water free for many years to come!

WaterGuard Installation Keeps Machias, ME Basement Completely Water-Free

A couple living in Machias, ME had been living with a damp basement for some time. Tired of needing to manually remove the water from their basement, the homeowners needed a permenant solution. They were soon referred to get a free estimate from us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and called is right away. After their free estimate, they decided they wanted us to get the job done for them and we got to work!

As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the basement by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the concrete floor. Here, WaterGuard piping was laid, surrounding the basement floor. These pipes, buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, these pipes will capture any leaking moisture in the future and guided the water to the sump to be removed. Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump pump to remove the water from the home. This pump can output water at a rate of 2,650 gallons per hour. Plenty of power to keep this basement free of water.

The water exits the home through a PVC discharge line. Outside the home, an IceGuard pipe section was attached to the line, to protect the basement against ice blockages. Any trapped water will be able to escape through special holes in the sides of the IceGuard. Finally, a LawnScape discharge port was used to cap the end of the line. This piece forms a grate on the end of the line to allow the water to flow out onto the lawn, while preventing debris from entering the line.

With these improvements to their basement, these homeowners will no longer need to remove water from their basement manually. Their WaterGuard piping and SuperSump pump will ensure their basement remains dry!

Baileyville, ME Basement Kept Water-Free with WaterGuard Installation

A homeowner living in Baileyville, ME was having trouble keeping their basement dry. Even with a sump in their basement floor, they still regularly needed to remove the water almost by themselves by sweeping water toward the drain. Looking for a better solution to this problem, the homeowner searched online and soon found our TC Hafford Basement Systems website. They called us to receive their free estimate and gave us the go-ahead to start work on their basement soon after.

When our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the basement by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the concrete floor. This enabled them to lay WaterGuard piping down around the basement. Buried below a layer of loose rocks and concrete, the WaterGuad pipes inside the floor will capture any leaking moisture in the future through small slits along the bottom of the pipes. This trapped water is then guided through the floor directly to the sump to be removed from the home.

Inside the existing sump, we installed a TripleSafe pump unit. The TripleSafe houses three pumps within itself, each able to force the collected water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The first and secondary pumps inside the TripleSafe will handle the bulk of the water-removal with the secondary only activating when the primary pumps requires extra power. Lastly, the third pump is a battery-operated pump that will switch on when the home loses power to keep the basement dry even in the harshest weather.

Outside the home, two additions were made to the discharge line before we were finished on this home. The first addition was an IceGuard pipe segment attached just beyond where the line leaves the home. This section of pipe has special built-in holes that only allow trapped water to escape. This means if ice or debris blocks the line, the backing up water will be able to flow through the holes without reaching back into the home to cause flooding. Finally, a LawnScape port was attached to the end of the line. Here, the water will flow out of the grate of the LawnScape onto the lawn to drain away. This grate will also prevent most debris from entering the line to cause blockages.

With these waterproofing devices installed, this homeowners basement will now keep itself dry for years to come.

Leaking Eastport, ME Basement Sealed with FlexiSpan Placement

This property owner in Eastport, ME had recently noticed a crack on one of their basement walls had been leaking water into their basement. This was something the property owner wanted to fix right away but was unsure where to start. After hearing about TC Hafford Basement Systems from an acquaintance, they called us right away to set up a free estimate. Once they heard their options, they gave us the go ahead to get started on solving their wet basement problem!

As soon as our installation crew arrived at the property, they began work on sealing the crack by clearing away any loose debris using a coarse brush on the crack. This would allow our seal to better adhere to the wall. To begin the FlexiSpan installation, a primary layer of sealant was applied within and slightly around the trouble crack. A foam mat was immediately laid over the sealant, which gives the FlexiSpan its namesake by allowing the finished seal to bend to accommodate any slight shifts in the shape of the crack in the future. Finally, a second sealant layer was applied over the top of the foam to complete the FlexiSpan seal.

With the crack taken care of, this property owner no longer needs to worry about a potentially flooding basement. The FlexiSpan seal will keep this basement floor dry for years to come!

Whiting, ME Basement Kept Safe from Flooding with WaterGuard Installation

A homeowner that lived in Whiting, ME had been experiencing flooding in their basement lately. During heavy rainfall, the basement would slowly take on water until pools had formed across the basement. Wanting to take care of this problem before it got any worse, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems immediately after seeing our ad on TV. Our office staff scheduled their free estimate, and they soon heard their options from our sales representative. They soon gave us the go-ahead to get started on waterproofing their basement!

Once at the home, our installation crew began work on keeping water from leaking in through the concrete foundation below this home. The first step was to excavate a shallow trench into the perimeter of the floor. Within this, WaterGuard piping was laid, surrounding the basement. These pipes were connected directly into a SuperSump sump pump installed nearby. After being covered over by loose rocks and fresh concrete, the pipes can begin their job below the surface of the floor. Small slits in the pipes capture moisture leaking through the floor, guiding it directly to the sump before ever reaching the surface. The SuperSump then forces the water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line.

Outside the home, two sections of pipes were connected to the discharge line to further protect this basement. The first addition was an IceGuard piece attached just beyond where the line exits the home. The IceGuard will protect the basement from ice blockages in the discharge line. Any water blocked by ice that begins to travel back up the line will exit through angled holes in the IceGuard. On the end of the line, a LawnScape discharge port was attached. This piece is covered by a grate that will let the water freely flow from the pipe while blocking debris from entering the pipe.

With their newly waterproofed basement, this homeowner can now rest assured their basement will not flood from some heavy rainfall. The WaterGuard piping system will keep the leaking water from reaching the basement floor in the future.

Meddybemps, ME Foundation Lifted and Secured with SmartJack Installation

This homeowner living in Meddybemps, ME had a foundation problem. The supports below their home were beginning to fail and the house was dipping. Looking for a solution to this problem, the homeowner found our website at TC Hafford and called us to receive their free estimate. They spoke with our sales representative and agreed to the work we could do on their home.

When our installation crew arrived at the home, they got to work on stabilizing this foundation. Once below the home, our crew installed SmartJack piers beneath the rim-joists in the base of the home. These piers are aligned vertically to maintain an even distribution of the weight of the home. The SmartJacks can be adjusted in the future to correct for any settling that may occur over time. Once the new supports were installed, the old, failing supports were removed from beneath the home.

With their sinking foundation resolved, this homeowner no longer needs to worry themselves about their home suffering any damage from the problem. The SmartJack installations will keep this home level for years into the future!

Grand Lake Stream, ME Basement Fully Waterproofed with WaterGuard Installation

With a dirt basement beneath their home, this Grand Lake Stream, ME homeowner was troubled to find water pooling up across the space. Worried about water damage negatively affecting their home, this homeowner sought a solution to the problem online and soon discovered TC Hafford Basement Systems. After they called our office staff, we sent our sales representative to give them a free estimate on what could be done to solve their problem. They decided on what they would like to be accomplished and we got to work!

When our installation crew arrived at the home, their first task was to pour a fresh slab over the leveled floor of the space. This will create a better barrier against leaking moisture but would not keep out all leaking moisture without the WaterGuard piping installed inside the new slab around the perimeter of the basement. These pipes will capture any moisture leaking through the new slab, trapping it through small slits along the sides of the piping. The water is then guided beneath the floor through the pipes to the sump where it will be removed from the home without gathering on the surface of the floor in the future.

Within the sump, a SuperSump pump was installed to handle the removal process. Collected water is fed directly into the SuperSump by the WaterGuard piping and forced out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Continuing work on this line outside, an IceGuard pipe segment was intersected into the piping just outside the home. This special piece of pipe has upward facing holes built into itself. These protect the basement from ice or debris blocking the line. The trapped water will be able to escape the line through the sides of the IceGuard without backing up the sump. Finally, the end of the line was capped by a LawnScape grate. This will enable to the water to drain away into the ground beyond the discharge line without letting in larger debris.

With this overhaul in waterproofing below their home, this homeowner no longer needs to worry about water damage, and they can now use their basement for any number of reasons. The WaterGuard piping will ensure this space stays dry for years to come!

Machias, ME Basement Protected Against Leakage with TripleSafe Upgrade

Having a basement that would regularly flood whenever the drain in the floor would backup, this Machias, ME homeowner was in desperate need of basement waterproofing. After they saw an ad on their TV for TC Hafford Basement Systems, they gave us a call and spoke with our office staff about setting up their free estimate. The homeowner soon met with one of our sales representatives to discuss their options for waterproofing. Once the homeowner made their decision, we got started on solving their wet basement problem.

Upon arriving at the home, our crew got to work by first expanding the existing drain to enable the installation of a sump system. Next, a TripleSafe sump pump was installed. The TripleSafe contains three pump that act to maintain a dry basement floor. The primary and secondary pumps both work to remove the bulk of the water needing removal from the basement. The secondary pump will only activate if the primary pump fails or needs assistance with the level of water. Finally, the third pump is a battery-operated backup pump for when the home loses power. This will ensure the basement floor remains water-free even during harsh storms.

The water removed by the TripleSafe system travels through a PVC discharge line up and out of the home where it passes through two additional waterproofing features. The first being an IceGuard pipe segment attached just beyond where the discharge line leaves the home. The IceGuard has built-in holes that face up, only allowing for water traveling back up the pipe to escape. This will prevent ice blockages or other debris in the line from causing flooding in the home. Lastly, the water exits through a LawnScape discharge port, that covers the end of the line with a grate. The grate will keep debris from entering the end of the line while continuing to let the water drain freely. The water is deposited onto the ground far enough from the home to not cause further trouble for the homeowner.

With their new sump system in place, this homeowner can now make use of their basement how they wanted to without the need to fear water damage. The TripleSafe system will keep water from pooling up all across this basement in the future!

SaniDry Dehumidifier Keeps Musty Baileyville, ME Basement Dry

This homeowner living in Baileyville, ME had been living with a moisture problem below their home for a while. The basement would always have a musty smell to it, due to moisture in the air. Looking to have something done about this moisture, the homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems after seeing one of our ads on their TV. Our sales representative took a look at the space and gave the homeowner their free estimate on how we could solve the problem for them. They gave us the green-light right away and we got started!

When our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started by installing a Condensate Pump on the basement floor. Connected to this pump, a SaniDry XP dehumidifier was also installed on the basement floor. The SaniDry will pull in the surrounding air, separating any moisture from it in the process. The now-dry air is circulated back into the basement to continue cycling more air back towards the dehumidifier, until the basement has been rid of excess moisture in the air. The water collected by the SaniDry is passed to the connected Condensate Pump where it is forced out of the home through a discharge line. The water will follow this line a safe distance from the home before being discharge onto the ground.

Now this homeowner will no longer need to suffer from musty, damp air when visiting their own basement. The SaniDry XP dehumidifier will make sure this basement air remains dry and healthy for years to come!

FlexiSpan Seal Keeps Unwanted Water Out of Milbridge, ME Basement

Living in their home for less than 5 years now, this Milbridge, ME homeowner had noticed water beginning to leak into their basement through a crack in one of the concrete walls. Looking to have this crack repaired as soon as possible, the homeowner took to the internet to find a solution. They soon discovered TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us to set up their free estimate. We sent our sales representative to look at the crack and talk with the homeowner about potential repairs. They decided on what they wanted done and we got to work!

When our installation crew arrived at the home, their first task was to brush the area around and within the crack with a coarse brush. This would clear any debris that might hinder the sealant adhering to the wall. Next, the first layer of sealant was applied within the crack. This layer was soon covered over by a foam matting. This foam will give the finished seal flexibility so that it may remain over the crack if the wall were to shift at all. Finally, a second layer of sealant was applied over the foam, creating a FlexiSpan seal covering this crack. The FlexiSpan will ensure no more outside moisture enters this basement through the crack in the wall.

With their new seal in place, this homeowner can now be confident during rainfall that their basement will no longer take on water. The FlexiSpan seal will make sure of that!

WaterGuard Systems Protects Princeton, ME Basement from Frequent Moisture

Living with a basement that would regularly take on water during rainfall or melting snow, this Princeton, ME homeowner needed a little help. Having worked with us before, the homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to find out how we could solve this problem for them. We set them up with a free estimate where our sales representative would go over the homeowner’s options with them. They soon gave us the green light to get started on waterproofing their basement!

As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started on the basement floor by excavating space for our WaterGuard system. This involved removing enough of the floor to create a shallow trench around the perimeter of the basement. It was within this trench that the WaterGuard piping was laid and covered by a fresh layer of concrete to seal it within the floor. Now any water traveling through the concrete foundation will become trapped by small slits in the sides of the WaterGuard. This water then travels through the piping to the sump for removal without ever reaching the surface of the floor.

To handle the water removal, a TripleSafe sump system was installed in the basement floor, with the WaterGuard feeding in directly. The TripleSafe houses three pumps, each serving a separate function. The primary pump handles the bulk of the water removal, with the secondary pump only activating as a backup for the primary in the event that it becomes overwhelmed. The third and final pump, operating on a battery, will turn on to remove water during any power outages that might occur. This will ensure the basement remains water-free during any weather! The water being removed flows from the home through a PVC discharge line.

Now that they have a proper waterproofing system below their home, this homeowner can expect to find a dry basement floor instead of constantly damp one when they go downstairs. The WaterGuard & TripleSafe systems will maintain a dry basement floor for years to come!

Musty Camp in Whiting, ME Waterproofed with CleanSpace Encapsulation

This Whiting, ME property owner had been putting up with some damp conditions for years and thought it was about time they did something about it. Their camp had a dirt basement beneath that would regularly contain moisture. This caused musty smells inside the camp and triggered allergies for the property owner. Looking to have this problem dealt with, they called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems shortly after seeing us on their TV. We then set them up with a free estimate to discuss their options with one of our sales representatives. After they agreed to have us get the job done, we dispatched our crew to begin work!

Once our installation crew arrived at the camp, they got started on waterproofing the basement right away. To keep future moisture from entering into this basement so easily, a vapor barrier was needed. This began with a Drainage Matting being laid across the floor of the basement. Resting on grooves in itself, this mat provides channels for any blocked water to follow and drain back through the dirt floor. Next, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the interior of the basement. This covered the walls and floor of the space with a thing white polymer sheet. The CleanSpace will act to lock out any leaking water from the surrounding ground, channeling it down through the Drainage Matting and out of the basement.

To eliminate the existing moisture problem in the basement, a SaniDry Sedona was installed on the floor. This device is a dehumidifier that will pull in the damp air from around the basement and separate the moisture from it. The collected water is passed from the SaniDry to a Condensate Pump installed nearby. The pump will then force the water out of the home through a discharge line, where it will be deposited a distance from the home. Once free of moisture, the dried air is circulated back into the basement. This process continues until the basement is once again filled with healthy, dry air!

Now that they have their basement waterproofed properly, this property owner can once again enjoy spending time at their camp! The CleanSpace liner & SaniDry Sedona will ensure this basement remains moisture-free for years to come!

Gutter Shuter Solutions in Marshfield, Maine

A homeowner in Marshfield, Maine, contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems after dealing with constant issues from overflowing gutters. A Complete Encapsulation System

Every time heavy rain comes through, this Machiasport, ME basement fills with a couple of inches of water, causing severe moisture issues for the homeowner. It’s important to take care of issues like this quickly to prevent damage that can ruin the health of the home and create an unsafe space to live in. The homeowner scheduled a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems and worked with System Design Specialist Craig Ziegenbein to design an encapsulation system that would help the homeowner protect their home's health.

CleanSpace with Drainage Matting is laid on the ground to create a channel for water and an inorganic barrier between the CleanSpace and the outside elements. The CleanSpace Wall System was installed to create a full encapsulation system to keep moisture out of the space. The water has to go somewhere, so a SmartSump Sump Pump was installed to pump water through the new Exterior Buried Discharge Line. To keep the system running all year, even during the winter, IceGuard was installed on the Discharge Line to prevent ice from building up. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona was installed and connected to a condensate pump that drains to the SmartSump. Now, humidity will stay at a safe level, and the homeowner will never have to worry about emptying a bucket of water. The space is fully encapsulated, and the home’s health is protected.
