FlexiSpan Properly Seals Leaking Vassalboro, ME Basement

With a crack in their basement wall, this Vassalboro, ME homeowner was unsure how to prevent water from leaking through the crack. Without a way to seal it themselves, they soon heard about TC Hafford Basement Systems from a family member and called us right away. After receiving their free estimate, they decided to have us take care of the problem crack.

Once our installation crew arrived at the home they began the three-step process of sealing the crack with FlexiSpan. To start, the crack was brushed clear of any debris with a coarse brush, then the first layer of sealant was applied within the crack. A foam pad is then laid over the top of the sealant. This gives the FlexiSpan the flexibility to conform to slight changes in the cracks shape. Finally, the foam is covered with a second layer of sealant, completing the FlexiSpan seal. This will keep water from leaking through the crack in the future.

Now that the crack has been sealed, no more water will leak into this homeowners basement. The FlexiSpan will make sure of that!

We are currently dealing with a damp basement (one area of the basement fills with some water following rain, which then runs into a drain. We're hoping to look at potential solutions -- i.e. sump pump, gutter system, etc. Please let me know if someone would be available to provide an estimate! Thank you!

We have a gutted basement... It had black mold. We have removed all of the drywall It's down to the bear studs and the lower half is cinder block. The basement floor is unfinished concrete. We have not had anybody come and treat for mold. We are confident because it's been over a year that we have resolved that problem. Now it's all about getting it watertight.

I have a block basement that gets wet at times. One wall has been poured concrete and one wall was straightened out about 5 years ago possibly by you guys with what look like giant bolts with plates on the walls. Looking to see what it would cost to get the whole basement looking nice and water tight so the space is usable.

I just recently moved into a Dutch Colonial style 2-story home in Vassalboro, ME, circa 1920s. The home is built on a field-stone foundation that is suffering from water damage along the back wall of the home. The floor of the home is noticeably sunken around this area, and the entire home leans in the direction of the damage. Unfortunately, the seller from whom I purchased the house sprayed high-quality insulation foam across the entirety of all the basement walls. Though it is very good insulation material, the foam is not applied uniformly across the walls, resulting in a very uneven appearance where the foam sticks out much further in some areas than it does in others. As a result of the foam application, it is nearly impossible to accurately judge the extent of the damage on the back wall of the foundation. From outside the home, it is quite evident to see that the ground has opened up along the back wall, and this is obviously where the majority of the foundation damage is concentrated. Further compounding the problem, the insulating foam prevents any water from entering the basement. This is a good thing in itself, but as there is currently no drainage installed outside the home, and there are also no gutters installed either, water is not being directed away from the home at all. With the foam preventing the water from entering the basement at all, I believe that the pressure exerted from the build-up of water between the foundation and the ground is amplified and the damage will get worse if it is not addressed soon. I would like to dig some drainage myself near the back exterior wall, but I don't want to disturb the compacted soil along the foundation for fear that it will make my problem worse. I intend to install gutters in the near future, but I would really like to get the foundation problems addressed in a meaningful way soon. The foundation damage has created many openings around the home through which rodents are able to enter the walls and make their way up to the attic. I don't want to tackle the rodent issue by sealing up any openings because these sealants could create a problem in themselves when and if any significant foundation repair takes place. Please contact me at your nearest convenience. I prefer email contact during the working day as I can't answer my phone while I'm at work. I am interested in learning more about the services you offer, and I would like to get a quote when possible as well. Thank you for your time
