Crawl Space Stabilization in Appleton, Maine

Crawl Space Stabilization in Appleton, Maine

Before After
Crawl Space Stabilization in Appleton, Maine Crawl Space Stabilization in Appleton, Maine

When the homeowner in Appleton, Maine, first contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems, their crawl space was a major concern. They had noticed uneven floors and signs of moisture buildup, which could lead to long-term damage if not addressed. The crawl space had no moisture barrier in place, and the support beams were beginning to weaken under the strain. Without proper protection, the space was prone to mold growth and structural instability, making the home’s foundation vulnerable.

Following our comprehensive evaluation, we installed a SmartJack system, providing the essential support to stabilize the floor above and correct the unevenness that had been a source of worry. Next, we fitted the CleanSpace liner system, which sealed off the crawl space from outside moisture, ensuring a dry and healthy environment. Finally, the installation of the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier guaranteed that humidity levels would stay low, keeping the crawl space mold-free and well-protected.

The transformation was remarkable. What was once an unstable and damp space became a solid, dry, and secure foundation for the home. The homeowner was greatly satisfied with the end result, knowing that their crawl space was not only stabilized but fully protected against future issues.

Crawl Space Transformation in Appleton, Maine

A homeowner in Appleton, Maine, reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems with concerns about their crawl space. The area had shown signs of instability and moisture, which prompted the need for a professional evaluation. Our team quickly responded, conducting a thorough assessment to identify the best course of action. Upon inspection, we recommended three key solutions. First, we proposed the SmartJack system to stabilize the crawl space and ensure long-term structural support. The adjustable steel posts would not only reinforce the floor above but also address the unevenness that was affecting the home’s overall foundation.

Second, we suggested installing the CleanSpace liner system, which is designed to keep moisture and humidity out of the crawl space. This durable liner acts as a vapor barrier, preventing water from seeping in and keeping the space dry and mold-free, which is essential for maintaining the health of the home. Finally, we recommended the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, an energy-efficient solution that would help control the moisture levels in the air. By reducing humidity, the SaniDry Sedona would ensure a dry, healthy crawl space, free from mold and mildew.

After completing the installation, the homeowner was very satisfied with the results. The crawl space was now dry, structurally sound, and fully protected against future moisture issues.

FlexiSpan Seal Keeps Union, ME Basement Water-Free

A homeowner that lived in Union, ME had been living with a slight moisture problem in their basement. Three cracks across the walls in their basement were allowing water from outside to easily leak in. Looking to have these cracks dealt with properly, the homeowner was soon referred to us at TC Hafford Basement Systems. After they received their free estimate, they decided to have us get the job done for them!

To keep these cracks from leaking water in the future, our installation crew utilized FlexiSpan to seal them for good. This began with the cracks being brushed clear by a coarse brush to help the sealant hold better. An initial layer of sealant was then applied to the cracks. To give the seals some flexibility and structure, foam mats were then placed over the sealant along the length of the cracks. Finally, another layer of sealant was applied over the top of the foam to complete the FlexiSpan seals. These FlexiSpan seals will keep water out even if the cracks contort over time.

This homeowner now can rest assured these cracks are no longer a source of a moisture problem beneath their home. Now that they've been properly sealed they should never leak again!

We have a 100 year old farmhouse in Maine. In heavy rains we have moisture in the basement in two general areas (one at the front corner of the house, the other where the septic exits the basement). A portion of the basement is fieldstone foundation. An area approx. 10x16 is dirt floor. We would like advice and and estimate for making the basement as dry as possible. approx. 1000 sq. feet total.

Our basement has flooded twice now in the last month. The water is coming up through foundation floor. We want to find a way to clean out the possible mold that is starting because of the moisture but also prevent it from happening again. The house it's only 3 years old.

Leaks from cracks in basement, need to fix now

I need an overall assessment of my basement issues. Right now, I have water coming in in the area of the foundation wall near the basement door. There is a drain inside the basement by the door. I had an addition put on the house ten years ago and when it rains, water has created a trough in the ground that follows the roof line and because the ground slopes towards the basement door, rainwater runs towards the door and comes into the basement. Do you deal with outside water diversion?

We have a Zoeller pump which is not working well - sometimes it flushes and sometimes I have to manually pull the arm to activate the pump. We might benefit from a whole new system being installed.
Project Location: Union, ME
My home is designated as having been on site for over 160yrs. The foundation is a conglomeration of poured concrete and what appears to be stone. Maybe from the original build. There is a bit of settling occurring with the first floor of the house having some pitch to it and keeping up with the moisture is becoming an increasing challenge.
