Once our installation crew got to the home, they began work on the crack by brushing the crack as well as the area around the crack clear with a coarse brush. This will allow our seal to adhere to the wall without fail. Next, an initial layer of sealant was laid down within the crack. This begins the installation of a FlexiSpan seal, which as the name suggests, once finished will be able to conform to slight changes in the shape of the crack. Over the top of the initial layer of sealant, a foam matting was laid along the length of the crack. This was then covered over by a second layer of sealant, completing the FlexiSpan installation. Once dried in place, the FlexiSpan will prevent any future leakages from occurring through this problem-crack.

When this Mechanic falls, ME homeowner started to notice flooding in their basement, they knew they needed professional assistance right away. When our installation crew arrived at the home, they got to work on keeping water out of this basement right away. To prevent moisture from leaking through the foundation directly, a shallow trench was excavated into the perimeter of the floor. WaterGuard piping was then laid within, surrounding the basement floor. These pipes, buried beneath a fresh coat of concrete, have special slits running along their bottom edges that capture moisture. Now any leaks will be intercepted by the WaterGuard pipes before reaching the surface of the floor.

The water trapped by the WaterGuard is guided through the floor to the sump where our crew installed a TripleSafe sump system. This device houses three individual pumps. The primary and secondary pumps will remove the majority of the water from the basement, with the secondary pump only coming into play when the primary pump fails to keep up with the amount of water. Finally, if the power was to go out in the home, a battery-operated backup pump will activate to keep the basement water-free. The water is pumped from these three pumps up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The water follows this line away from the home and the water drains away into the ground.

With their new basement waterproofing complete, this homeowner can now rest assured their basement will no longer flood during rainfall. The WaterGuard piping will make sure of that!
