Belfast, ME Home Getting the Clog Free Gutters It Deserves

Clogged gutters lead to overflowing water, damage to the roof of a home, and create situations where homeowners could get hurt on a ladder, especially during the winter months when ice can build up. Gutter Shutter’s unique design prevents clogging and allows the homeowner to enjoy the benefits of gutters without the headache they can leave them with. System Design Specialist Josh Hamel met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a Gutter Shutter system that would protect their home from rainwater.
Solution
Gutter Shutter features a larger, six-inch aluminum build that is formed and cut on site to allow for a seamless design that can fit any size needed, whether the home requires a 2-foot section or a 90-foot section of gutter. With the integration of the shutter on top, pine needles, leaves, and even small critters such as squirrels are kept out of the gutter, preventing clogs. Since water is able to flow unobstructed even during heavy storms, ice buildup during the winter months isn’t a problem, and snow melting on the roof won’t turn into icicles that could potentially be dangerous to the homeowner. Gutters are necessary to prevent soil erosion and water runoff that could lead to larger, more expensive problems, such as water in a homeowners basement that could lead to damage and the loss of belongings.
