Geo-Lock Wall Anchors Keep Oquossoc, ME Basement Safe From Collapse
Challenge
A homeowner living in Oquossoc, ME had a major problem developing in their basement. One of the walls was noticeably beginning to bow inward. This could eventually lead to a cave-in of the basement wall. Wanting to avoid this possible cave-in, the homeowner sought a solution online. After finding TC Hafford Basement Systems, they gave us a call and we got to work!
Solution
When our installation crew arrived, they got set up right away to begin work on the basement wall repairs. To reposition the wall and prevent the cave-in, we needed to use Geo-Lock Wall Anchors. After the crew measured out the locations for the installations, they began by excavating several holes into the ground a distance away from the home behind the bending wall. Then several holes were drilled into the marked positions, lining up with the excavated holes in the lawn. Long metal poles are then placed into the drilled holes. Two metal panels are then screwed onto the two ends of each pole. This completes the installation of the Geo-Lock Wall Anchors. The interior end of the Geo-Lock can be tightened gradually over time to pull the wall back into position. Finally, the outside holes are filled back in.
With their Geo-Lock Wall Anchors in place, this homeowner will never again need to worry about their bowing wall. This basement wall will now remain in place and secure for many years into the future!
