CleanSpace Installation Keeps South Portland, ME Crawlspace Water-Free
Challenge
A couple living in South Portland, ME owned a crawlspace which was particularly damp. After any rainfall, the space would retain moisture that leaked in during the rain. This moisture began to cause a musty smell to emanate throughout the home. Tired of living with these conditions beneath their home the homeowners called TC Hafford Basement Systems. They soon received their free estimate and our crew got to work.
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began the installation of a vapor barrier in the crawlspace to keep out any future leaks. This started with a Drainage Matting being laid across the floor of the space. This matting sits just above the floor, where it will prevent any water on the floor from becoming airborne. The water can still flow beneath the mat to find the best location for draining back into the ground. Atop this matting, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the crawlspace. This liner covers all of the walls as well as the floor of the space. This completed the vapor barrier, sealing the inside of this space off from outside leaks.
With their new vapor barrier in place, these homeowners will no longer need to suffer from a musty smell in their home. The CleanSpace liner & Drainage Matting will keep this crawlspace dry for many years to come!
