East Vassalboro, ME Basement Wall Collapse Prevented with PowerBrace Installation
Challenge
A homeowner living in East Vassalboro, ME was worried about their basement wall. Over time, the wall had begun to bow inward. Worried the wall might collapse inward, they searched online for a solution to their problem. After they found TC Hafford Basement Systems, they knew we were the right company for the job. They gave us a call and we dispatched a crew!
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to begin work on the bowing wall right away. To prevent the wall from collapsing, PowerBrace supports were used to keep it in place. To install these, holes were drilled into the basement wall every few feet and the metal support poles were inserted into these holes. Outside the home, holes were dug into the lawn where the ends of the supports reached to. SmartJack Footing plates were then screwed onto the ends of these poles, then being buried back beneath the soil. Inside the home, PowerBrace plates were also attached to the inside ends of the support poles. These can be tightened over time to pull the wall back into place and hold it there.
With these supports installed, the homeowner will no longer need to worry about a collapse occurring within their home. The PowerBrace supports will keep this wall secure for many years into the future.
