Chamberlain, ME Crawlspace Kept Safe From Damage With Proper Vapor Barrier
Challenge
A homeowner living in Chamberlain, ME had been having some troubles with the crawlspace beneath their home. Rainwater could easily leak in through the dirt surroundings of the space, where it could cause any number of problems. After noticing a musty smell originating from the space, they decided it was time to have something done about the problem. They searched online and soon came across their solution. They called us, at TC Hafford Basement Systems, and we were on the job!
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the crawlspace right away by laying a Drainage Matting across the floor of the space. This mat sits just off the surface where it acts to keep the moisture from entering the atmosphere of the space while allowing the water space to flow and drain back through the ground. On top of this, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the space. This sealed the walls and floor off from the interior of the space, preventing any future leaks from reaching the crawlspace. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona was installed to dry the damp air currently on the space. This device will pull in the surrounding air, separating the moisture from it. This moisture is pumped out of the home while the dried air is circulated back into the crawlspace.
With their new upgrades to their crawlspace in place, this homeowner will no longer suffer from the moisture problems that were plaguing their home. The Vapor Barrier and SaniDry system will keep this space safe from moisture for years to come!
