Vapor Barrier Installation Protects Liberty, ME Crawlspace From Moisture Damage

Challenge

A homeowner in Liberty, ME was living with a problem in the crawlspace beneath their home. With dirt walls and a dirt floor, the space was prone to leaks during any rainfall. This was creating a damp atmosphere within the crawlspace. The moisture could potentially lead to problems for the homeowner in the future, so they sought ways to protect their home from this damage. To get the job done, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems.

Solution

Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to move to the crawlspace and begin work right away. To protect this crawlspace, a vapor barrier needed to be installed. This started with a Drainage Matting laid across the floor, sitting just off the surface of the floor. This allows for water on the floor to flow and exit the space without entering the atmosphere of the crawlspace. Next, to finish the vapor barrier, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the interior of the crawlspace. This covers all four of the walls as well as the floor, locking out potential future leaks. This will keep the inside of the crawlspace dry and free of leakages.

With their complete vapor barrier installed, the homeowner will no longer need to worry about moisture damage affecting their home. The CleanSpace and Drainage Matting barrier will keep this space safe for many years to come!
