Wet Harrington, ME Basement Kept Dry With CleanSpace

Challenge

A homeowner living in Harrington, ME was concerned with the condition of their crawlspace. With rainwater leaking in easily after any rainfall, the space was prone to damp conditions. These damp conditions could lead to mold growth or damage to the home. To prevent this from happening, the homeowner sought ways to waterproof the space. After a short search online, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems.

Solution

Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to begin work on the crawlspace right away. To prevent future moisture from entering the space, a vapor barrier needed to be installed. This began with a Drainage Matting being laid across the floor of the space. This mat sits just off the surface of the floor to enable water to flow and find a drain point, while containing the moisture beneath itself. Next, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the crawlspace. This covered all of the walls as well as the floor with a thin plastic sheet, locking out outside moisture. This completed the vapor barrier, sealing off the inside of the crawlspace from the surrounding soil.

With their crawlspace no waterproofed, this homeowner will no longer need to worry about any water problems developing beneath their home. The CleanSpace liner will ensure no moisture enters in the future.
