Proper Vapor Barrier Installation Saves Lubec, ME Crawlspace from Outside Moisture

Challenge

A homeowner in Lubec, ME was struggling to keep their crawlspace water-free. With water leaking in through the surrounding soil, without any form of barrier in place, the homeowner was helpless to prevent this. Solution

Once our industry-leading installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the installation of a vapor barrier right away. First, a Drainage Matting was laid across the floor. This mat sits just off the surface, allowing for water beneath it to find a place to drain away through the floor without being able to reach the atmosphere of the space. Next, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the walls and floor of the crawlspace. This liner is made of a thin plastic which completely locks out any moisture from potentially leaking into the interior of the space from now on. Now any moisture problems will no longer be a problem for this crawlspace.
