Crawlspace Kept Dry & Healthy With SaniDry in Gray, ME
Challenge
A homeowner in Gray, ME had been living with a musty smell coming from their crawlspace for a while. Tired of the smell and worried about a possible mold problem, the homeowner needed the space dried. Unable to achieve this on their own, the homeowner contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems and we were on the case!
Solution
Once the TC Hafford installation crew arrived at the home they began work right away on the crawlspace. To begin, a Drainage Matting was laid across the floor. This mat holds moisture beneath itself, while allowing room for the water to continue to move across the floor. This enables the water to find the best drainage route. After that was in place, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the crawlspace. The liner covers all of the walls as well as the floor, locking out any potential moisture leaks.
With the outside moisture locked out, it was time to handle the moisture still lingering within the crawlspace atmosphere. To do this, our crew installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. The SaniDry pulls in the surrounding air, removing any moisture from it. The dried air is then circulated back into the crawlspace. This creates a cycle where the dry air forces more moist air back to the SaniDry to be dried. The removed water follows a PVC discharge line out of the home where it drains away into the ground.
With this system in place, the homeowner will no longer need to worry about any mold growth. Without moisture, no mold will be able to spread. This homeowner will no longer need to live with a musty smell in their home.
