CleanSpace Barrier Protects Mattawamkeag, ME Crawlspace
Challenge
A homeowner in Mattawamkeag, ME had been having trouble with water entering their crawlspace. This moisture would build up over time, and this build up was causing problems. The crawlspace needed to be waterproofed. To get this job done right, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once our crew arrived at the home, they assessed the crawlspace, seeing what exactly needed to be done to keep this space safe from outside moisture. Achieving this was going to require a proper vapor barrier to be installed. Starting this process, the crew laid down a Drainage Matting. This mat will hold back moisture from entering the air, where it could cause several problems. The mat also has room beneath itself which allows the moisture that does gather on the floor to flow and find a proper location to drain away into the ground.
With the first half of the vapor barrier in place, the crawlspace was one step closer to being protected from moisture. To complete this barrier, the crew encapsulated the space with a CleanSpace liner. This is a thin, white sheet of plastic which covers all of the walls as well as the floor of the crawlspace. This will lock out any inbound moisture entirely, not allowing any to leak through. The CleanSpace ensures absolutely no more water will enter the atmosphere within this crawlspace.
With their finished vapor barrier, this homeowner no longer needs to worry about leaks in their crawlspace. No more water will be gathering in this home, thanks to CleanSpace!
