CleanSpace Seals Bowdoin, ME Crawlspace Water-Free

Challenge

A homeowner in Bowdoin, ME was suffering from a wet, leaking crawlspace. After living with this for far too long, they finally decided to have something done about it. They called TC Hafford Basement Systems and we were on the job!

Solution

To help keep their crawlspace water free, we needed to install several products to keep this crawlspace water-free. To begin, we re-graded the dirt floor of the crawlspace. This leveled it out and made it flat for our product installations. We then installed a SmartDrain in the floor of the crawlspace. This will take in any water pooled up on the floor, and guide it out and away from the crawlspace.

Next, we needed to give the crawlspace a vapor barrier to help keep the moisture at bay. We encapsulated the space with a CleanSpace Liner, which sealed the interior of the space off from the moisture trying to leak in. This moisture that is held back by the CleanSpace will drain away through the SmartDrain. We finished this crawlspace by installing a SaniDry CX dehumidifier. This dehumidifier will maintain a dry atmosphere within the crawlspace, eliminating any chance of mold growth by removing the proper habitat for their survival.

Now this homeowner can sit back and relax, while their newly installed systems keep their crawlspace dry. No mold growth, or moisture build up will occur within this crawlspace any more.
