Deer Isle, ME - CleanSpace & SaniDry Installation
Challenge
Steven & Joni couldn’t stand their wet crawlspace. The smell was just intolerable. They contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems to have their problems solved!
Solution
To stop the accumulation of water in this crawlspace, we needed to install a vapor barrier. To begin this process, we needed to re-grade the crawlspace floor, removing debris and making the floor flatter. This allowed us to lay down our Drainage Matting evenly along the wall/floor joint surrounding the crawlspace. This matting is the first half of the vapor barrier, and hold back some of the water trying to leak in. This held water is then given time to drain away back into the soil.
We then finished the vapor barrier by encapsulating the space with a ClenaSpace liner. This liner is a thin plastic sheet which seals off the interior of the space from any and all moisture. Locking out the moisture this way is a great way to maintain a dry crawlspace, but can still be improved upon. This is where the SaniDry XP comes into play. We installed this dehumidifier to take the moisture removal up a notch. This takes moisture out of the air, maintaining not only a dry crawlspace, but a dry atmosphere within that crawlspace as well!
Now Steve & Joni can rest assure their moisture problems have been solved! Thanks to the CleanSpace Liner and SaniDry dehumidifier working together, their crawlspace will remain dry for many years to come!
